I have a buddy who needed a new wood stove for an off grid cabin, the box store ones were overpriced junk so he used what he had around him to make one himself from old rims.

There is a plan on the web for using these old rims to make pot bellied stoves to heat your shop. You can also make waste oil burning stoves out of them.

I agree about the "can't sell sh*t for less than $100 or $200" The amount of time wasted dealing with dumbass public is extraordinary compared to what the item is worth. It's becoming evident why retail salary is $9/ hour Often easier to donate or scrap a lot of stuff. Or re-purpose like this and make more $$ Giddyup fella

was looking for a set of those rims... I have an axle for them that has been fitted to fit a car I use for plowing snow... tax incentives for farm machinery discount to build a drift car? 1994 Ford thunderbird with snow plow on it passed pushing 3 foot high snow drifts on a 1/4 mile road 20 feet wide for one winter season, broke the little ford 8.8 differential axle shafts 3 times in process and one set of very rusty thin tire chains... now has what would cost $15'000 from Chrysler modified to fit it without looking funny. AAM1150 with the 38 spline 1-5/8'' shafts, even saved a few thousand on the service upgrade to the welder "for farm/acreage use". was... a trip getting that axle home... so heavy on the trailer hitch the front end of the car was picked up 5 inches causing lite steering wandering... wondering, max indicated load cap for car was 900lb in the trunk between the axle and 34 gallon slip tank. so deeply inceptive that the axle was going to brake again, now there's the rims for the biggest truck axles a normal person outside of having a large farm might be able to get... there was an axle made for each set of those rims... "where"? so easy to work on just take out 8 bolts tap and pull then push in new axle... thrown out with truck because attached to carburetor... the news paper advertises people to but those old axles, 1800 is top dollar 300 and that's still more then scrap. "wants the big bling bling rims"

They aren't worth anything as a cobbled together wood stove fire pit either. Stuff like that doesn't sell in my neck of the woods
