How many strokes does this take before it fires again? It sounds like 5 based on the air I hear exhaust. Pretty neat engine, gas burner but gives me boiler vibes. Edit: Ok I get it now, It fires only at a certain speed and that is why I was counting 5 maybe 6 strokes sometimes. So I imagine under load it fires a lot more often to maintain speed. Knowing that I see why it is referred to as a hit-and-miss engine.

Good video. My employer is giving us 2 weeks of stick welding training. Yes, 2 weeks and I've never welded in my life. We're taking the bend test at the end of the 2 weeks 😥

Such a pain in the snow tractors, nothing like a top deck change. Lower decks tend to get corroded. Such a hassle with those little push clips. You make it look easy.

Letting it "Skin up" before assembly is what some of the manufacturers of the silicon suggest in their instructions. This helps reduce the silicon from getting in the oil or coolant after assembly. Also waiting for the "full cure time", if possible, before filling the coolant or oil will prevent the contamination also. Good video, thanks.

GREAT VIDEO! May I get your machinist info for that fabricated cylinder? In dire need of this replacement part.

People are worried about a weld or 2...they never worry about that '20k lb hitch' being held on with 2 grade 8 bolts. Your equipment is only as strong as those couple bolts holding it on.

The title of the video is a scam. Clickbait. The amount of iron used in this old engine for this tiny power output makes it better in nothing. Ridiculous poor efficiency, lots of maintenance like permanent filling up cooling liquid and oiling by hand. Its just a thing of its time, they didn't know better. They last only quite long because the most parts where not really stressed to the limits.

I have the same machine - no problems yet. It's a good machine. I don't think your assessment of the toplink pin is accurate. The tractor is fine for ground engagement. The majority of pulling strength for an implement is through the two lower arms. I'm certain Kubota thoroughly tested the M7060 for pulling and that upper pin probably has a crazy shear strength.

Beautiful old machine, but I can get more fieldwork done in a day than this thing could get done in a week, with a modern 4wd and a 50 ft planter. The only thing that this video proves is that you're a hipster clown...

Just a heads up most respirators come with a particle filter those will not protect from anything but, you guessed it particles (dust, sot and some liquid particles)so gases and most fumes just pass right thru so make sure that you get a gas/chem filter that is rated for the stuff you are exposing yourself to so do your material homework. As most(not all) particle filters are not gonna protect you from the common welding hazards like chrome, cadmium, lead, zink fever, hydrogen cyanide or most nasty epoxy coated stuff. Even pre-cleaning a surface with a grinder is risky as most coatings give of bad fumes when heated above a certain temp. Stay safe.

Stipple!!! Stippling or dabbing ensures that if the surface is contaminated the RTD will come away, leaving a leak path. If it doesn’t, you’re good to go!

I remember old horizontal engines with 6’ tall flywheels that powered old grain elevators in rural Saskatchewan. They would run on gas, diesel, coal oil, or kerosene. The one I was most familiar with started with compressed air. No electric grid in those days. Was always fascinated by their multi compression settings and variable magneto’s. I have ZERO metrics but they seemed quite efficient and ran thousands of hours with no issues. Current diesel engines with all the unnecessary sensors and def are an absolute joke. Designed to need constant repairs.

Your pump will NOT give any more than it did before... The extra tank will ONLY help a tiny bit for a few seconds when you first start.. I don't think you understand what you are doing... Your pump still has to produce the exact same amount so it has to run the exact same amount of time. A buffer tank can be useful if you have a long run between the compressor and point of use but next to each other actually forces the compressor to run more... Do a little research and learn a little...
