I think it's important to note that when many teachers teach that Jesus is raising the bar, he's not raising the bar of the Old Covenant, he's raising the bar of the Scribes and Pharisees. The problem was never the Old Covenant, it was their external interpretation of it. I don't think it's a problem to say that Jesus is raising the bar, but that we understand what we mean by that. If you like, he's 'restoring' the bar, and he's clarifying the law for us.

What if Jesus meant every word he said?

I think you have just confused everybody with a shadow of a doubt because God did change his morality or we can just go back to an eye for an eye Matthew 5 clearly says not to take oaths.

Jesus paid the price on the cross. Its not a license to sin but we do sin from time to time. Ask God to forgive you and confess your sin to him and he will forgive you .

I will probably have to study the greek hebrew and aramaic on this. To me "AT ALL" means what it says but English translation can be tricky. Of coarse lying is wrong. Its just that people perceive whats happens differently and if you are trying to be honest about what you will do its somtimes thats easier said then done😶

Oath and vow are different contracts. There are very few clear quotes from Jesus. Do not make an oath is so simple. What people think he was getting at is justifying what they want. Sorry I’ve heard only what a man thinks here. Neither heaven or earth means no exception.
