lol you're right dude. I just looked up Rose's MVP season and it's not mind-blowing like people claim. Curry, Durant, etc. all have far better single seasons. Heck, Rose has another season that is better than his MVP year. MVP doesn't really mean much. 44% FG and 33% 3PT...Ja is slightly better than that right now. Rose played 81 games and was the reason they won...that's about all that can be said.

Different league. In today's league there are most touches per game to average higher assists, Rebounds, and points. I would say the stats are inflated anywhere between 10-25 percent for certain players. The paint is also wide open in this era. Rose was going through contact and being surrounded by the whole team

Exactly! People got short term memory loss. Rose mvp season was literally statistically worse than Wade despite Wade being a 2nd option in Miami that year. Also, as for the notion that rose was some freak athlete we’ve never seen before, the man has 100 career dunks. Wade had more than that in a single season on multiple occasions. Rose is a poor man’s Wade, but he won the popularity contest one year, and for that he was put on a pedestal. His injury only catapulted his legend.

I'm not sure this is a fair question/comparison. derrick rose's knee injuries/issues began well before his prime. so we never really got a chance to see just how good he could've been when you factor in the things that are so important during a players prime (maturity, experience, comfort level, adapting to the nba game etc.). I think a better question to ask would be----is ja morant better than rose was at his best (perhaps his MVP season)?

Derrick Rose had it harder as he had to deal with prime lebron james (if not the best player of all time then the second best), Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, all in their primes. Ja didn't have that type of competition. But then again Ja morant is still super young and he's on course to become better than what rose was.it will be entertaining to watch tho.

I don't want to take any credit from Ja hes playing really good but the NBA has gotten soft when it comes to defense so its does make things not as challenging. Derrick Rose was a driving force for helping revive the Chicago Bulls and push them from 40 wins a season to 60. I feel if Ja were playing in 2010-2011 he might not be putting up the same numbers.

As a Memphis gal, I love them both. As you know, Rose played for University of Memphis for a year before going pro. Memphis loves basketball! I hate that Rose’s injuries have kept him out and hope that Ja recovers completely. I hate comparisons. I agree that Rose did not reach his prime, though, and neither has Morant. He sure is fun to watch!
