Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Intro 1. 0:20 {JD Vance’s Christian Concept} Is JD Vance’s “Christian concept” of love truly Christian? 2. 28:00 {Resisting Temptation in the Workplace} What advice would you give to somebody who feels vulnerable to worldliness in the workplace? Not only do I spend most of my time there, but all of my coworkers knew me pre-salvation. It’s a struggle. 3. 33:06 {Should Children be Taught about Hell?} What should children who would go to Heaven if they die be taught about Hell, if anything? It may make them afraid that they would go there. 4. 36:06 {The Unsaved: Prayer Priorities?} Is it appropriate to pray for the physical healing of an unsaved person? Isn’t it more reasonable to pray that they would come to faith in Christ? What is the "prayer priority" in this situation? 5. 38:51 {Specific Moment of Salvation?} Do you have to have a specific date of salvation, or can salvation be a gradual thing/realization? This has been a debate within our current Bible study. 6. 43:17 {God’s Omnipresence} Within God’s omnipresence, is that confined to spatial and spiritual dimensions? Or does that include Him being present across all of time, as well? As in He’s currently in all times all at once? 7. 49:06 {Disqualifications for Serving?} What disqualifies someone from non-pastoral ministry? Are the rules for pastors the same for sound techs, ushers, etc.? 8. 56:02 {Brands/Products: Letting in Spirits?} Are there specific brands or products that Christians shouldn‘t use? I’ve seen videos showing things like makeup products Christians shouldn't use because they let in spirits. Should I throw these away? 9. 1:01:12 {Jacob’s Wrestling: Father or Son?} Do you believe Jacob wrestled with God the Father or God the Son (Hosea 12:4 and Genesis 32)? 10. 1:06:44 {Tribulation Saints: Position in Heaven?} In the pre-tribulation view of the rapture, if the raptured Church is the Bride of Christ, then what position/purpose in Heaven do the tribulation saints hold? 11. 1:10:36 (Bonus) Prayer Request from Jacob: Can you and your listeners please pray for my sister Darby's pregnancy? The other day we found out she was having twins, but at the same time she was told she's most likely going to miscarry. The babies are measuring smaller than they should, with no heartbeats detected. Please join us in asking God to miraculously breathe life into her babies again.

Please let her know there are Facebook groups with moms who have had similar issues and to look into them. Praying for a safe pregnancy!❤

I never thought I would compare PJ O'Rourke with Charlie Brown but here goes: "I love mankind, it's people I can't stand". The bravest thing any of us can do is to let the Almighty God influence every area of our lives because he will likely 'call' us to a ministry of taking out the neighbour's bin, helping a friend's kid with their homework or working a shift at the homeless shelter. Invisible heroes are still heroes.

And also the opposite can be true. Christians can be so "dedicated" to their unbelieving bioligical families that they neglect true believers who are suffering and in need. I've seen it.

Yep. Very true. A local pastor wanted to help the 'less fortunate' by opening the church building to homeless people one night per week. He was amazed when a fight broke out amongst the heroin dealers, people 'went to the bathroom' in places that were clearly not the bathroom and all the cupboards were opened up, looted and trashed. I think he was expecting Oliver Twist to come up with his empty bowl and politely say "Please sir, can I have some more?"

The Good Samaritan wasn’t going out of his way to find someone who he could preferentially and sacrificially serve or rescue. He was going about his business. He had resources. He had some time, but not ALL the time; in fact he had to leave the man in the care of the innkeeper presumably because he had some pressing matters to attend to. He didn’t neglect his responsibilities out of a duty to have greater care for his neighbor. He did what he committed in his heart to do while still serving his own needs that had precipitated his travels.

I agree. Us helping someone should be a natural activity and not just seeking someone random to help at the expense of our families. Now, we can seek out people to help and that’s fine. However, we can’t do this all the time when God provides us with things and people we need to take care of first. He wants us to be good stewards, not fools. I think the issue is people think saying prioritize what God gave you first means you don’t want to help others. It’s an assumption. I want to help others, but I have a wife, house, bills, etc that I must take care of. What I have left can be used to help others. This doesn’t mean I hate everyone around me. In fact, it’s smart to take care of your family first so that you all are healthy enough to help people in your community.

@@carolwrinkles6204 I just wanted to briefly respond to the idea that the good Samaritan is the perfect example of Jesus. I think it over looks the fact that Jesus came to his own people first. The apostles did the same. "First to the Jews, then to the gentiles", Just because Jesus prioritized Jews when he came did not mean he meant to exclude everyone else. Very much the opposite. He wanted the Jews to be blessed so that they could bless the nations. I think our leaders have to have the same priority to the nation they lead, but the outflow of American blessing has always been to bless others. I think JD Vance would agree.

Your family takes up 90% of your time and concern. Maybe you can make a case that we should give more to other families, but you can't really say it's wrong to concentrate on our family. It's simply a matter of fact that we do and usually will and it's mostly good that we do. Based on that, what do you think "family first" tells us about "America first" and how exactly do you think it should apply?

Thank you so much for sharing your Biblical wisdom. I was raised JW, spent many, many hours per week in church, went “door to door”, yet never felt like I measured up. Not that I was particularly bad, I just couldn’t find a connection and felt like something was missing. So, In my early twenties I stopped attending church. For many years I tried other churches, but It was very hard to find a church I could trust when I had so many “JW cobwebs” in my head. It so happened when I was at a VERY low point in my life (a very, very difficult time) that I received the book “Living Waters” by Chuck Smith. I finally came to know, and understand who Jesus really is. I did not know about the true nature of the Holy Spirit or salvation through faith in Christ….or Grace. What an awakening!! It’s been a few years now. I’m born again, baptized last October at Calvary Chapel, St. Joe. I’m so much calmer and happier now. Sure, things are not perfect, but I know in the end….they will be. In the meantime, my relationship with Jesus is everything. It saddens me to see other JW’s (and Mormon’s) who work so hard to please God all the while being mislead. Hopefully your video’s regarding this will peak their interest enough that they delve into the scriptures for themselves and find the truth. 🙏 It’s really difficult to break away from something you’ve known all your life. Thanks again for sharing God’s word!

You will find that the spectrum of ideas is extremely broad under the "Christian" umbrella. Many are standards that one pastor or another came up with to guide their specific church group (perhaps makeup has become a real problem in that church), but the church goers apply it to everyone. Since people are generally sheltered within their own church, they believe what their pastor teaches is gospel and everyone else is damned. Broadening your understanding with Pastor Mike and others is a great way to find a grounded foundation. It broadens your knowledge and opens you to other concepts that help to filter what is truth, what is suggestion, and what is just plain false teaching.

While they would never hold it against someone who buys and uses Disney products and shows, or claim that someone is being "a bad Christian", I think it goes to show the wisdom in not contributing money to a corporation that is clearly standing against our Christian values. Remember, we should be as wise as serpents, but as innocent as doves.

Two additional things to consider on what JD Vance said: 1. He was talking about the government’s role, not the individual’s role. A Christian should prioritize other Christians for help, but our government shouldn’t be deciding who law enforcement protects based off their faith. 2. We are absolutely called to treat foreigners living among us as our neighbors, provided that they follow our laws. However, those who break our laws to get here are criminals, and Christians aren’t called to ignore crimes because someone is a foreigner, so there is nothing unbiblical with deporting foreigners who have broken our laws, anymore than it is unloving to put American citizens who are criminals in prison.

I was so disillusioned by the prophetic movement that it came crashing down when my best friend died of cancer and I couldn’t shake the feeling it was my fault for not being “faithful enough.” Thank you Mike for your ministry, it’s kept me from harmfully dismantling my faith and upholding God’s Word. 🫶🏽

Hey there, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. There are multiple adults in my life currently who have cancer and it is tough. I have been praying for them but not sure if it has made any difference or not. I have watched some of Shawn Bolz but not a ton. I felt like what I did watch was solid and reasonable teaching that carried the heart of God. If you don't mind sharing, how have your views changed and how do you feel praying for the sick is related specifically to the prophetic movement?

@ while my friend was sick, she got married to her fiancée. He was from a very charismatic circle and everyone was prophesying over her that she would live a long life and have children. 6 months later when she became so terminal, she told me “it’s God’s will, and it’s okay. Everybody dies.” It was heartbreaking and for a long time after I felt so spiritually let down, but what she said stayed with me. I couldn’t read my Bible for soooo long, but when I did I read Hebrews 11. I recommend it. Not everything Shawn Bolz says is false. He uses a lot of truth, he uses some scripture to back his teaching and seems so genuine in his approach. God DOES heal and work miracles. He DOES -at times give us the desires of our heart. But not always. As deeply as we search Him, our wills don’t always align with His, however “good” our plans for ourselves are. In Heb 11 it talks about many cornerstone people through the Bible and how they were faithful to God to accomplish great things for the Kingdom. “And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.” ‭‭‭(11‬:‭39-40‬) I realized that our blessings are not meant to be on earth, they’re in heaven. That’s a crucial point the charismatic movement gets twisted. Physical healing is only a tool to glorify God temporarily. I’m sorry to hear about the cancer affecting people in your life. It’s extremely hard to watch. I believe it’s so important as Christians to weep with and care for the sick and grieving. There are so many more ways to pray for someone than the way the charismatics lead us to, it’s more important a soul is saved than someone’s ability to walk or live a few more years.
@StormyKnight24

@ Thank you for taking the time to share your story, I really appreciate it. That is a very personal experience. I have personally prayed for people who were instantly supernaturally healed (tinnitus gone, back pain gone, ankle pain gone, hip realigned after injury), but I have also prayed for people who were dying and they still died. I’ve been on both sides of it. What I never want to do is create new theology out of my experience, when God is revealed in scripture. Jesus made a very clear distinction that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but he came to bring abundant life. The thing is, God cares about more than just the outcome we’re praying for. He cares about us understanding faith. I know Mike disagrees with me on this and that’s ok. But if the disciples had decided it wasn’t God’s will to heal the epileptic boy after they prayed and nothing happened, they would have been wrong. Jesus arrived and healed him. It doesn’t make it “our fault” when someone doesn’t get healed, we are all learning and growing, and we didn’t make anyone sick or get cancer, it just happened. Yes healing is not the most important thing, but it was important to Jesus, and in my experience many Christians are too quick to shrug and say oh well, it doesn’t really matter one way or the other.

In the ministry I'm involved with, we talk about 5 daily habits, 1-Pray, (1 Thes 5:16-18) 2-Appreciate others (1 Cor 13), 3-Know what you believe (Mark 5:1-20), 4-Serve others (Mark 10:45) and 5-Speak for yourself (1 Peter 3:15). I walked the aisle around age 8, I think just to follow my sister. A couple years later I began to feel I wasn't really saved, and I remember talking to the pastor that Sunday night. @@kirk9671 The whole premise / idea that Economic Progressives, Liberals, and U.S. Democrats prefer assisting people overseas and foreigners over Americans/U.S. Citizens (and “U.S. persons”), is totally false, it’s an out right lie used by Political Conservatives (esp. Republicans, Libertarians, & Fiscal Conservatives/Economic Liberals) to gaslight Americans. Go ask Republicans why a lot of money isn’t going to help Americans. GOP doesn’t want Americans to see what it feels like when govt does its job to help its ppl, that’s why they don’t vote with Democrats in Congress when Democrats try to institute social safety-net programs, but don’t care/will vote alongside Democrats (in a bipartisan manner) when sending foreign aid to other countries. The only reason why we have Government Services in the first place is to fill the gap between the needs of the people and what the private sector can or cannot provide. The Private sector can't provide every service because its not financially feasible, so the government steps in to provide the services at cost (even in some case at a loss), because its a necessary service needed for the proper functioning of society. - I don’t understand why so many people keep saying “There is no such thing as ‘free healthcare’”? You can say the same thing to there being no “Free Police/Free Law Enforcement,” no “Free Public Schools,” no “Free Fire Department,” no “Free Military,”etc. but nobody bats an eye when all of these necessary services are provided by the public sector and payed for by taxpayers. “Free Healthcare” has always ment healthcare expenses are included with the taxes you already pay at little to no additional cost upfront. So, instead of paying copays and most insurance bills to a for-profit corporation, you end up paying it as part of your taxes that are based on income - plus it reduces financial waste by allowing the government to counter predatory price gouging, etc. Most developed countries with good standards of living, higher life expectancy, and robust healthcare infrastructure do this all the time. Why do a lot of people, especially Americans, keep saying “it’s not free healthcare,” we know that it’s not actually free, that’s just a colloquial phrase for “healthcare expenses including with taxes” like what every other developed country does to fund their universal healthcare programs. Our taxes should go to something good like Universal Healthcare, I know the US Government (funded by taxpayers) can afford it because other developed countries with (slightly) smaller economies than us have it. The U.S. Government is freaking too lazy and stingy to have tax dollars directed towards making healthcare affordable or “free (with little-to-no additional cost)” for the average person. - “Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬ - “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭82:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬ - ““ ‘Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.” ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭19:15‬ ‭NIV‬‬ - “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ - “For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭42‬-‭43‬ ‭NIV‬‬) - “Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him.”(Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬). - Trickle down economics states that if you give tax cuts (or money) to the wealthy and upper class, in particular employers and large corporations, the more investments they make the more money trickles down to the masses instead of instituting a progressive tax where people of lower income get taxed a lesser percentage than people/corporations of higher income which leads to consumers retaining more money and stimulating the economy by buying and selling things. This isn’t how things work; what happens is that these companies just hoard a good chuck of the money and it never trickles down to the median person in wages, benefits, or salaries but cosmetically speaking it makes the U.S. economy look great on paper with respect to GDP while many Americans by developed country standards are struggling more than what the issues they face should cost them while living in a wealthy developed country. A lot of developed countries outside of the United States (especially a lot of European Union and Western European countries) might look poorer on paper due to smaller GDPs but they generally have lower economic disparities and higher human development indexes than most U.S. states. GDP alone isn’t the only barometer of a good economy it needs to be combined with HDI, PPP, COL, GDP, GDP per capta, and Gini coefficient. ------------- Not all of these people who claim they’re Christian, speak Christianese, or who are Conservatives in the Political Sense are actually Evangelical Christian or even Christian in general, a good chunk of these people only say they’re Christian or claim to support Christians because their parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and ancestors were Christian or want to grow their influence among Christian communities through ulterior motives. Also, remember that The United States was NOT founded as a Christian nation, a good chunk of the Founding Fathers were Culturally Christian, Deist, theologically liberal, or sacrilegious heretics that syncretized Western Classical thought, American exceptionalism, extremist forms of nationalism and even in some cases White supremacy with Christianity creating a false religion called “American Civil Religion,” “Ceremonial Deism,” and the ideology of “Christian Nationalism” that on the surface looks like Christianity but in reality is very shallow, references a generic theism, and just co-opts Judaeo-Christian terminology for state propaganda and to push a political agenda or social movement (especially among Political Conservatives). Most of these people described have turned America, the American flag, or their respective countries into a deity instead of focusing on Jesus, some people are turning America, Patriotism, and their ideology into an idol syncretizing it with Christianity (Political Liberals who adhere to theological liberalism do the same with their own ideologies). Many of them claim to be Evangelical Christians but actually are either atheists or theologically liberal Mainline Protestants LARPing as Evangelicals because the Republican Party told them they’re Evangelical or Christian in general because they hold mostly Politically Conservative (even specifically social conservative) views while in reality their Theology is mostly Liberal (unorthodox and heretical) / theologically liberal. The evils and idolatry of this is seeping into some American churches, especially many of the vocal and socio-politically influential ones; this ideology needs to be cast out (exorcised) and rebuked.

GOD GAVE HIS SON. _TO DIE._ For his _enemies._ Yes, generally, we need to put family before neighbors, and neighbors before those in other countries. But because we need to put God before everyone else, God has the right to tell us, at times, to rearrange the priorities. He gave the greatest example of this when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Also, what about the Great Commission? It would not happen unless we're willing to put the needs of other peoples above _some_ needs/desires of our relatives.

For example, Aquinas clarified the limits of governmental authority over individuals because we are each made in the likeness of God. That is just one example. I am not denying the supremacy of scripture, but neither would I discount theologians and philosophers of the past. Some of the negatives in Western civilization also come from influential thinkers, like tge current period of postmodern thought which has impacted our culture. I am not negative about Mike. Lewis put it in Narnia "The last battle" where some people/creatures looked into Aslans face & just loved him (and He took them to the new, more awesome Narnia) - and the others just vanished into Aslans shadow & were never be seen or even remembered. Later it's important to always tell your kids, that God is doing EVERYTHING for everyone so they could be saved. I think its also very important to remember that the early Christian Church took care of fellow Christians first with the resources they had, the goal of the their charity was not simply to help random people for its own sake, it was to grow the Kingdom by saving souls. That is a major problem in the west. We have replaced Christian charity that draws people to God with Government that draws people to whoever promises to take the most from one and give to another.

Regarding, "Does God's omnipresence mean that God is currently present in all of time?," I would suggest you might find it profitable to begin with the proposition that time is among those things that God created. If so, then it follows that God exists "outside of and apart from time." And if you allow that proposition, then it follows that God certainly is present in all times, AT all times.

Generally love your stuff, but I Timothy doesn't assign priorities at all. It merely says to take care of them, nothing there about 'at the expense of others'. One could just as easily quote Leviticus 19:34 as saying that the foreigner has priority. Or, for that matter, "Love your neighbor as yourself" doesn't say anything about family! Does that mean neighbor has priority over family? These verses merely say we should take care of our family and foreigners, there's nothing in there about doing one at the expense of the other. This is a wide open door to neglect the needs of others.

“for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ There is definitely a priority there. In order to lead a Church you must first lead your house well. You don’t neglect things that have a lower priority. “Let a widow be enrolled if she is not less than sixty years of age, having been the wife of one husband, and having a reputation for good works: if she has brought up children, has shown hospitality, has washed the feet of the saints, has cared for the afflicted, and has devoted herself to every good work. If any believing woman has relatives who are widows, let her care for them. Let the church not be burdened, so that it may care for those who are truly widows.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬-‭10‬, ‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This also talks about how to prioritize which widows to help. I’m not sure if you were disagreeing with what he said, but I think his reasoning and response was very clear that we don’t neglect others, but we should prioritize our sphere of influence first.

@@gabriel201018 I don't disagree that we should take care of family. But this whole discussion seems to me a bit like the the guy who asks Jesus 'What must I do to inherit eternal life" and then the 'who is my neighbor' exposes his heart - he really is asking 'what's the least I can do, where can I draw the line?'. The idea that 'sure, we should take care of the poor, but not until we've got our own family taken care of, until then, good luck, poor guy' is just not what I see in the gospel. WAY too many people have that mindset - and for good reason! EVERYONE has that idea! 'Even the tax collectors do the same'. Matthew 5: "46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Or, it's like the prioritizing guy in Mark 7, self righteously declaring all this goods 'devoted to God' and so not having to help his parents. God has priority, right, even before family?

@@JimHopkinsHaveFun“Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever” (1 Timothy 5:8) That verse is clear. Married individuals are concerned with things of the world, this is noted by Paul. If you are single then you can spend as much time and money you want serving, but when you have a family they come first. How can you let your child miss meals to feed a stranger? That is inexcusable. Another example is when Jesus was prepped for His burial. 'And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.” But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. ' Matthew 26:8-11 The idea here is wisdom. Which is more wise: feeding strangers while your family starves or making sure that your family has food and then share what you have left over to others. I think the point has been clearly stated that we should help others, but not to the detriment of those you are responsible for and we are not responsible for all of the poor or all of the less fortunate. We are called first to our family, then to our Church, and then to our local community.

Jesus, in Matt 12:48-50 says “who is my mother, and who is my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Jesus implies that the priority should be given to our spiritual family over our physical family, especially when they are operating contrary to the will of God. When the two overlap, and our family are believers and focusing on His will, then our physical family can be given priority. But not if they are resisting God. Jesus placed his mother under the apostle John’s care on the cross, since she probably became a believer during the latter part of Jesus ministry. And He knew that as a believer she needed another believer to monitor her spiritual condition. Spiritual family comes first, and if one’s physical family are believers then they are included in that circle, and may be given special consideration, as Jesus did for his mother.

And I agree with those that said JD was talking about the government… but I also see what Mike is saying about Christian’s thinking that this excuses them from living certain groups. Just because I love the children in my own home first, doesn’t mean we don’t do foster care for the children in our community. Our love should grow out from Christ and not but a hoarded thing. And I’m also for enforcing our laws and removing those who have been hurting vulnerable people. Justice is important too.

The quote @8mins is a banger that gets at the heart of the "love your neighbor" discourse in modern politics. Also, on the OT prophets and their judgments of other nations. I would note: 1) They are never judged for being pagan. That is, not worshipping Yahweh is not cause for judgment. 2) They ARE judged for oppressing Israel. Especially Edom and Tyre. 3) They are judged more often and harshly for oppressing their own people and perverting justice. "Shedding innocent blood."

8:00 it's not necessarily that most progressives believe that you should take care of outsiders first then your family, it's more accurately that they believe you should take care of outsiders the same way as you would your family concurrently (Mathew 5:47). I understand your point in the Bible's emphasis on priotization, but as someone who works with and has many Christian democratic friends what you said there is not necessarily true about what they believe. Also in a way they may be unconsciously priotizing their love in the way you're talking about. As they are minorities or felt like they were outskirts of society, extending their hands out to these groups within their city is more personal for them and they do see those people as part of their immediate community (Leviticus 19:34). And if you wait for every problem to be fixed in your country before helping other countries, then you're basically saying you plan to never help other countries. When going through the ups and down within your family, you still help your friends and immediate community so on a larger scale can't the same be done with the American government? Especially given that the costs to programs like US AID costs only 1% of our national budget. Progressives never advocate for completely neglecting America while helping other countries. They push for laws and what they consider to be improvements in their community whilst also advocating for those abroad. That's just not true that they neglect or hate America lol. Sure they may hate some republican policies but truly christian democrats don't hate republicans just as truly christian republicans don't hate democrats. The ones with hate in their hearts on both sides are the extremists on both sides. I'm not republican or democrat myself, just offering perspective on that point you brought up. Again, I'm not disagreeing the importance of taking care of the people in your midst first.

Lately God certainly seems to be exposing the false teachers/prophets, AND their false teacher/prophet friends who defend and cover for them. The Lord is shaking the church, it isn't funny to see people fall, but we can thank and praise Him for protecting the sheep when the 'shepherds' refuse to do it. The leaders of churches I know don't warn the people, they just stay off the subject even when they know some in their congregation are consuming lies.

For question 7, I would say that anyone in charge of a certain area of worship or the church should be a believer, a regular attender in good standing, and proven themselves dependable. The head usher or sound tech or janitor/head of maintenance should probably be a member in good standing. But they can have the ability to recruit anyone who is willing to help regardless of whether they are a Christian or regular attender. The greater the responsibility and/or authority, the greater the expectations the person needs to live up to.

I think the misunderstanding here is that America is certainly wealthy and powerful enough to not need to “prioritize” citizens vs non citizens. For context, Vance’s quote was in response to a question about birth right citizenship. The fact of the matter is that illegal immigrants supply a large portion of American labor, especially in the agricultural sector. Illegal immigrants also pay taxes while themselves not being entitled to tax benefits such as social security, Medicaid, etc. Furthermore, the US can afford to send 3.5 billion every year to Israel, the second most wealthy nation in the Middle East. Also a nation which has been condemned worldwide for participating in a genocide, yet we continue to fund them nonetheless. Many will say “but Americans are struggling too”, and that would be correct, our government ought help them. But the unfortunate truth is that policies that cut taxes for billionaires while shifting the burden to our most poor working class citizens does not help one bit. Not to mention the price hikes associated with this administration’s tariff plan. Or even this administration’s executive orders to cut thousands of federal jobs, most of these jobs not paying in the 6 figure range, who does that affect the most? So the argument isn’t “we need to help Americans first and then immigrants” the argument is more so “we are actively hurting our working class citizens but we’ll fan the flames by also hurting our immigrant population”. What I find most striking about this is the fact that we serve a God who was himself a refugee. A refugee who fled to Egypt in infancy until king Herod died. Was Joseph able to find work in those years in Egypt? Was the Holy Family deported? Thank God Egypt didn’t put their children in cages. Pastor Mike, I respect your diligence and charity in giving these answers. But I noticed that you said you were not up to date on the current administration’s policies. As a respected and honorable pastor, and someone who has posted about his vote, and holds influence over the decisions that your viewers make, I implore you to be better informed on this administration and what they stand for.

>The fact of the matter is that illegal immigrants supply a large portion of American labor, especially in the agricultural sector. And Trump is arguing that Americans ought to supply that labour. That's the whole basis of his campaign. You as an individual may be wealthy enough to not need any special assistance, but you shouldn't speak for the people desperate for those agricultural and packing jobs. And no, the government ought not to help anyone. 1 Corinthians 13 says that you can do all the most amazing things imaginable, but if you do them without love they're completely meaningless. Tell me, what love is there in the federal government? Is there love when my mom has to stay on the phone for 4 hours to talk to someone about Social Security, and they hang up on her right away? Does the bureaucrat care if the money they give her goes toward an addiction, or to crime? Nope. Not at all. The way for charity to be administered responsibly and with love is through individuals, as Christ called us to do, and that means the federal government should have no part in it. 100 years ago, America had vast, widespread membership in fraternal societies and churches that provided charity. When they provided charity to someone, they didn't just dump money on them and say "go get addicted to something and get out of our hair". They said "Get back on your feet so you can help others". Moreover, because these were grassroots social groups, if someone tried to brazenly exploit others' generosity, they got shame, exclusion, and dishonor. THAT is what charity should look like.

It sounds like you're missing some background info on kids in cages. That policy was put in place under the Obama administration, but it was against Obama's wishes. Obama lost a lawsuit to an immigrant rights organization, which said that you can't put children in the same prisons as adults. There's a very good reason for that, as I'll explain. Trump did DNA tests on illegal immigrants coming across the border during his first term. He found that one in five adults with children were not related to the child they came with. Why were they together? We can't say for sure for every single case, but we know that the cartels run child brothels. They'll kidnap a little girl, take her to a country where no one speaks the same language, then get her addicted to crack so that even if she tries to escape, the addiction will draw her back,. They then force her into child sex slavery. This is the most probable destination for these children. "Kids in cages" is meant to separate children from these adults until we can confirm if the people with them are in fact their parents, or a kidnapper. I would strongly encourage you to not just go by propaganda from one side of any given argument. Very often people who you disagree with, know something you don't.

@ the rhetoric in your argument sounds similar to ideas of “immigrants taking jobs”. That has been a long dismissed argument as immigrants aren’t any more competitive in the job market than citizens. And even if it were the case that Trump wants to put Americans in jobs why did more jobs leave the US under Trump than Obama? Why did Trump say in December of last year that he hires H-1B visa employees and is in favor of it? It would be ridiculous to think that an employer would chose to hire an illegal immigrant over a citizen when an immigrant cannot receive a W2. This makes it impossible to insure them, opening up legal liabilities for the employer. It makes it impossible for them to claim them on emergency loans like we saw during Covid. It also makes it impossible for them to write employee salaries off on their business taxes. While some citizens are certainly desperate for these ag and packing jobs, the statistics just don’t show an overwhelming citizen demand for them. At least not enough of one to outweigh the need for migrant workers. As to your opinion on gov assistance: I agree with the stance Mike winger made in the video that governments’ have a responsibility to the care of their citizens. That’s fine if you disagree, but I think putting that burden on the church is a mistake. You mentioned that your mother needs social security. Why hasn’t the church helped her? If the church works so hard to ensure the welfare of American people why do people still need to rely on government support? There are around 2 billion Christians worldwide, if Christian individuals were as committed to charity as it seems you are, we should have eradicated poverty by now.

@@Strill_ I apologize if two of my replies get posted at the same time, I thought I replied to this but it didn’t appear so maybe it got deleted lol. I’ll say what I said in the first reply incase it doesn’t show up though. Your rhetoric sounds to me like the “immigrants are taking our jobs” sentiment. This has been a long considered and often dismissed argument. In truth, the job shortage for American citizens is caused by a lot of factors but immigrants filling these positions is emphatically not one of them. As you said, I’m sure there are many citizens who want ag and packing jobs. But the statistics show that demand for these sectors is simply not significant enough to replace migrant workers. To your statement that Trump wants to make sure citizens have these jobs: I’d whole heartedly disagree with this. Trump supports the H-1B visa as of December ‘24, he also sent more jobs abroad under his first presidency than Obama did. What he says, and what he does, are vastly different things. As for your argument about the church, or Christian individuals replacing the government assistance program: you are aware that gov unemployment and foodstamp programs often involve drug testing correct? There is no “get addicted to something and get out of our hair” sentiment at all. The idea that the body of Christ should replace the role of gov assistance is also an incredibly naive position to hold. There are around 2 billion Christians worldwide, if they were as committed to charity as it seems you are then why hasn’t poverty been eradicated? You also mentioned that your mother has struggled to get social security. Why didn’t the church help her? Why didn’t Christian individuals out of their own charity assist her? Personally I agree with Mike wingers argument that a governments responsibility is to the welfare of the people, it’s totally fine if you disagree with that sentiment; but he does use verses to buttress that argument in this vid if you missed them. I also noticed that you edited your comment to include info about fraternal societies from 100 years ago and their charity. While there’s a discussion to be had there, we can simply point at the Great Depression of 100 years ago and examine if they alone lifted the people out of poverty?

@@scottbauer771 The whole premise / idea that Economic Progressives, Liberals, and U.S.

@@scottbauer771 Most People of Color in the United States are economic progressives but are culturally moderate to very socially conservative on culture war issues. A lot of people who voted for Trump/Republicans in this election within the communities I’m surrounded by voted for Trump solely because they opposed the overbearing socially progressive/socially liberal policies enacted or promoted by the Democratic Party. That’s why a lot of historically Democratic Party-leaning demographics like Black people, Hispanics/Latinos, and Middle Easterners/North Africans went to Trump this time. The others that voted for Trump choose him because Harris and the Democrats didn’t do well on explaining their economic policies in an easy to understand manner and because the Democrats mostly campaigned on mostly unpopular cultural war issues alienating their economically progressive but socially conservative People of Color, Christians, and Muslims base. Democrats need to listen to the electorate by only focusing on economic progressivism, use non-mainstream media to reach a broader and younger audience, and find ways to translate complex policy positions and outcomes of current events into easy to understand language. Ideally they should completely abandon almost all the social issues/culture war issues they’ve been promoting recently besides issues related to civil rights, human rights, and gender equality - everything else needs to go. The American Solidarity Party (ASP) is a moderately social conservative and fiscally progressive Christian-democratic third party in the United States. Like the Christian Democratic parties of Europe and Latin America it is a fusion between social justice activism, conservative traditional values, and (NON-socialist) Social Democratic-leaning economic progressivism as seen through its support for a well regulated market economy with welfare state-like social programs found in the Social Market Economy (Rhine-Alpine Capitalism) and Nordic Model economic systems. They support a Social Market Economy, the Establishment of a Welfare State, Worker’s Co-Ops, Preferential Option for the Poor, Environmental Stewardship, Distributism (which is the redistribution of wealth and the means of production to a wider portion of society instead of concentrating it in the hands of a minority wealthy elite as seen in capitalism nor concentrating it in the hands of the state as seen in -traditional- socialism). The ASP is pro-life, anti-death penalty, supports Universal Healthcare, universal pre-k, supports multiculturalism and immigration; on economic issues it’s center-left to left-wing with an identical fiscal policy to that of social democrats, on social issues its moderately center-right, it supports separation of religion and state as an integral part of core Christian Democratic in order to prevent the government from meddling in religious matters, to maintain the free exercise of religion, as well as to oppose the formation or establishment of a state religion/state church or a theocracy. So many more things to mention but boils down to: on fiscal issues it farther left of Establishment Democrats, on social issues it’s right of the Democratic Party and mostly a lot closer to the center-right to moderately right-wing (but not far-right) of the Republican Party - mostly sharing similar views to conservatives on most social issues. Also on the Holy Land (Israel-Palestine), Lebanon, and Middle East issue, Establishment Democrats including Biden and Harris specifically, were pretty indecisive on which side to support, so a lot of Zionist Jews other pro-Israeli occupation of Palestine groups who traditional supported the Democratic Party went to Trump and the Republicans this election while most pro-Palestine and non-Zionist groups (inclusive of non-Zionist Jews, etc.) either had no turnout or voted for third party candidates, and many pro-Palestine Christian, Muslim, and Druze Arabs and other Middle Eastern-North Africans (MENA communities) who are traditionally socially conservative on culture war issues but are pro-Palestine and politically diverse on economic issues but traditional lean economically progressive voted for Trump because Harris from they eyes of the average person didn’t have much of a different foreign policy on the Israel-Palestine issue compared to Trump, so to get a “bang for the better buck” they voted for Trump instead because the Republican Party’s social values aligned with theirs as opposed to the Democratic Party’s ever increasing drift into unpopular social liberalisms/cultural progressivism. A majority of Arabs overall may be Musim, but a majority of Arabs and other Middle Easterners in the United States, as well as other parts of the Americas (North, Central, South America) are Christian.
