You Americans are asking the wrong questions. I went to high school in the same Montreal school district and upper class Westmount neighbourhood as Kamala Harris' (and Justin Trudeau (she lived there 1976-1983) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We were taught virtually nothing about American geography, history and politics. Due to our Canadian accent we sound like we should know everything the average American knows, but we do not. Kamala would not know what every American child would know: eg. the pledge of alligience, your anthem, that Betsy Ross designed the Stars and stripes or even be able to even name 10 states, let alone capitals of states. Everyone is asking the wrong questions. Her ignorance to basic American civics questions should be shocking. Get someone to ask her

I keep waiting for someone to mention the complaints of her staff members who kept leaving her in droves over the same exact issue. She refused to do her homework after her staff went through the work to provide it for her to study, and then they all mentioned the complete meltdowns she would have. "Toxic work environment", was a term used by several of her departing staff.
