JUST returned from Kauai. Took the same Kayak tour to the “Secret” falls with Rainbow tours. That was fun. We had Tyler as our guide. He was awesome and suggested “Hukilau lanai” for dinner which my wife & I really enjoyed. Such a great tour group. Very knowledgeable and caring. HIGHLY recommended. 🤙

I would recommend a boat tour of the Na Pali coast departing from the North shore instead of the South shore. When you depart from the South shore you see a lot of coastline that is NOT the Na Pali coast while on your way to see what you paid for. Boat tours from the South shore often don't get to reach the northernmost regions of the Na Pali coast before they have to turn around. If you depart from the north you see it all.

And if you go out on North Shore, Captain Steve and Captain Dave rock the boat ! In Hanalei🤙

I was born and raised on Kauai. Went to St. Catherine's in Kapaa, then Kauai High School. I - and my family - have gone back quite a few times, first to visit family, and as we grew older we just stayed at a condo in Princeville. Two of my aunts lived across the road from Hanalei Beach, near the pier , so we spent many summers there staying with them for a couple of weeks. I really enjoyed the video and wanted to express my thanks. My daughter and her family are going to Princeville later this year.

I didn't think it was anything special. We have plenty of these in CA, that no one considers tourist attractions

Thanks very much, Dennis! I wanted to make something that would be useful to me, a first-time visitor to Kauai. Something not personality centered, more detailed and comprehensive. So glad you like it. Jim

Thank you for the video!! I am going there solo in September, I will also be visiting Waimea canyon and doing the kayak/hiking tour of the Wailua River. Thanks for the tips.

Glad it was helpful. You're going to have a great time there. It is one of the best places I've been to for solo travel. At no point do you feel like the odd one out.

Very nice coverage of what you were able to see in just 3 days. We have been 3 years in a row for 10 days each, and still feel like there is a lot to see!! The only thing I would have for SURE done differently was your sunset on the beach. To miss the sea turtles at Brennecke Beach is a huge mistake!!! Thank you for sharing.

I'm the opposite of the turtle whisperer. I've never seen them anywhere I've gone to look, including Turtle Bay Resort. In the video, the snorkeling portion of the Napali tour, they were said to be there. I saw nothing. Oddly, very large fresh water turtles do somehow get through an iron fence and into my pool at home. I have to be on a beach at sunset at least once. I wish I'd been there all three days. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I love Hawaii and it’s language, but I struggle with the latter. I’ve flown single several times on the Big Island and over Molaka’i. I’ll be sure to fly Kauai next time. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you for this video... Its so informative, well organized and well narratated. Ive watched many, but most from young, active individuals with lots of hiking...we are not so young anymore, so I was doubting there would be much for us to do...your experiences fit out expectations. Please can you add a link on your airbnb or some in the surrounding area, it fits our bill. Thank you again.
@newsocracy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Aimee! So glad it is helpful. Like you I'm less interested in beautiful young people running on beaches in slow motion than actual ideas and details that help me plan my trip. Here's the airbnb link: www.airbnb.com/rooms/23541588?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=66055398-9bc0-4cbd-812a-5e5ac6d07e62. The host has two places there and there are several other hosts renting in that complex. I've been to Hawaii many times, but this was my first time to Kauai. You won't be disappointed. Very easy to get around and I don't think anything I did would qualify as "hiking."

Na Pali coast is best seen by leaving from Hanalei bay on the north shore and you can enter the sea caves on my favorite tour from there.
