Lab-grown meat has been suggested as solution to the greenhouse gas emissions, overfishing and animal welfare concerns associated with traditional meat consumption.
But is lab-grown meat ethical? And how does it taste?
Click’s Spencer Kelly travelled to Singapore to find out more.

It would probably give you an increase in risks of developing cancer, it isn’t natural it’s just a new kind of processed meat. Ian, i think it is a better course of action than forcing animals to live in their own filth, denied of everything that is natural to them including fresh air and sunshine. Forcing pigs into gas chambers, killing new born MALE dairy calves because they don't produce milk or killing newly hatched MALE chicks by grinding them up alive is certainly not a good course of action. Consultancy firm AT Kearney predicts by 2040, 60% of global meat sales will be alternatives: 35% cultured, 25% plant-based. That's global too. Just because some tribe out in the jungle cannot get it doesn't mean the vast majortiy of the urban population of the world won't have the means to do so. Yes, the developed nations should steer the path for the developing nations to follow.

@@Mu5096rdgh are you aware of how egg laying hens are kept ? They are crammed together inside of large metal buildings out of view of the general public, deprived of everything that is natural to them including fresh air and sunshine, they are so crammed together they cannot even spread their wings. Egg laying hens have been manipulated by humans to lay eggs every day, they do not exist in nature. Hens would normally lay eggs maybe six times a year. Their bodies literally wear out from laying eggs every day, then they are violently killed for pet food. Newly hatched Male chicks are ground up alive, gassed, suffocated or drowned because they don't lay eggs. Dairy cows are forcibly bred (raped) every year so they will produce milk. Male dairy calves are killed shortly after birth because they don't produce milk. The babies are not allowed to have their mothers milk. The cow is not your mother, the milk is not your milk, it is meant to grow a baby cow. Cows are very maternal animals, they cry and grieve for weeks after their babies have been taken from them ,cows have been manipulated to produce un-natural amounts of milk, they are even milked while they are pregnant. They are literally milking machines, there is a lot of suffering in dairy products. The milk is full of hormones and other toxins that are harmful to the human body. Cows usually live into their 20's but dairy cows are exhausted between the ages of 6 and 7 and are sent to the slaughter house to be violently mudered for dog food. The egg and dairy industries are extremely cruel, and yes, egg laying hens are slaughtered. If you are eating only a little bit of meat (someone's body) are you saying abuse and murder is ok just once in awhile ?

This will be an amazing development that I look forward to when it hits US markets. Most of the commenters here talking about how bad this is are very ignorant when it comes to this topic, and I have little respect for their desire to continue animal agricultural practices that include but are not limited to: using CO2 gas chambers for pigs that cause them to scream in agony; the maceration and blending of hundreds of millions of male chicks in the egg industry; artificial insemination of dairy cows that involves farmers shoving their entire arm up the cow's anus to grab hold of the cervix for proper sperm implantation; the separation of mother cows from their calves; shooting billions of animals in the head, slitting their throats open, and butchering them like they're mere commodities. As for those making claims about how this will be unhealthy: based on what? Your own intuition? The fact that it isn't "natural"?

Animal agriculture is responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, more than the combined exhaust from all transportation. Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. Methane is 25-100 times more destructive than CO2 on a 20 year time frame. Methane has a global warming potential 86 times that of CO2 on a 20 year time frame. Livestock is responsible for 65% of all human-related emissions of nitrous oxide - a greenhouse gas with 296 times the global warming potential of carbon dioxide, and which stays in the atmosphere for 150 years. Emissions for agriculture projected to increase 80% by 2050. US Methane emissions from livestock and natural gas are nearly equal. Cows produce 150 billion gallons of methane per day. oh really? last time I checked vegan climate change environmentalists wanted to kill all the cows on the planet because cows emit CO². 😂 but never remind the fact that for vegans to enjoy soy based cheese, thousands of hectares of forests would have to be destroyed and all the animals in them in order to make slave for a soy bean farm.

It could solve the migrant issue if they eat this chicken at-home and they trade their precious metals for British potatos, maybe throw in a chipper machine they can feed themselves hence no reason to starve and leave for a chicken and chip shop here in the UK or france can this lab stuff be mass produced they can fill their tummies all day long 😁

Jesus Christ called people everywhere to repent, so if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved and inherit the kingdom of heaven and eternal life. To this, people would accept Jesus Christ in life in their hearts and told other people how Good he is, how he saves, heals and frees and gives eternal life for freе 42

@@akiraigarashi2874 Sensory pleasure does not justify animal violence. You can get all of your nutrients without eating any animal products. People can give it up to mitigate animal abuse, climate change, antibiotic resistance, zoonotic diseases, freshwater shortages, excessive agricultural land use and habitat destruction, deforestation, water and air pollution, soil acidification, eutrophication, ocean dead zones from fishing, plastic pollution from discarded fishing nets, etc. It's easily one of the most abusive and environmentally destructive industries on the planet.
