Kind of reminds me of 49ers' Steve Young in the early 90s. Great QB when he became starter. But kept on losing in the playoffs to a young, powerful, very hungry Cowboys team. The "Team of the 90s." Young was considered good but not great until overcoming the hurdle of the Cowboys. In today's NFL, if you're in the AFC, all roads to the Super Bowl go through the Chiefs. This past Chiefs team wasn't even the best, especially compared to the prior championship team they had. I still recall how bad the memes were about their receivers earlier in the season. But it was still enough to beat the Ravens in the AFC Championship and my 49ers in the Super Bowl. You look at Mahomes' playoff stats and one thing you can say about him is that mistakes are very rare. He doesn't often gift you with turnovers and bad performances. Lamar Jackson has to overcome this.

I agree. To me, the Chiefs could be the NFL's version of the 1990s Chicago Bulls. Why? Because this may be the most Titanic Era in NFL History with how many great teams and QBs there are, and most of them if not all of them won't win a ring because of the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. Not to mention like those Bulls teams in the NBA, their influence on the NFL around the world has skyrocketed. If it weren't for a miracle run of miracle runs by Cincinnati, and if Dee Ford didn't jump offsides, they would be the 6 Time Defending AFC Champions and possibly could have 4 to 5 rings right now. The Ravens were the best rushing team in the league by a wide margin yet somehow they only rushed for a total of 16 times that game. The chiefs ran the ball for twice the amount which shouldn't be happening. And in the pass plays, there were times where Lamar had wide open grass in front of him to run and gain lots of yards but for some reason held onto to the ball to throw. All of the other playoff games I can give a sliver of an excuse for Lamar's performance whether it be bad o-line play, inexperience, or the opposing defense having a very good gameplan, but that AFC championship game has no defense for it. Lamar had all the advantages and didn't capitalize on it. And it wasn't even like Patrick Mahomes was playing godly, yes he was playing very good but his offense was only able to put up 17 points which is something Lamar should have overcame.

Do you guys watch film? And to count his first year in the league when he was the youngest Qb to ever start a playoff game is laughable. In that first Tenn. game no other Wb had ever threw through for that much and rushed for over 100 yards. The next year he Threw for more yards and rushed for more yards than Henry. The next game against the Bills Lamar had a higher Qbr than Allen and Allen only threw for 40yards more and Lamar didn’t play the entire 4th. The next time against HOU he broke another record with multiple rushing and passing TD. Against the Chiefs Mahomes scored 1 more TD and Zay fumbled on the goal line.

As a Ravens fan, yes, he is a playoff choker. But so is every other quarterback that doesn't win the Superbowl over multiple playoff appearances. Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, CJ Stroud if he doesn't win a Superbowl next year ... We all know these guys are likely capable of carrying their teams to a Superbowl , but every generation has a Brady/Mahomes 🤷♂️

I have been watching NFL football for a ton of years and I learned that playoff wins are build around a good TEAM, good PLAYERS and most of all good COACHS. During Lamar's last playoff game he had 272 yards passing (1 TD AND 1 INT) and rushed for 54 yards, not bad. The Ravens COACHS had his running backs run the ball 6 times with a 3.83 yards average, BAD COACHING. Gus Edwards ran the ball 3 times with a 6.67 yards average. KC did not score in the second half and the Ravens lost by 7 points.

Jackson in the NFL reminds me a lot of James Harden in the NBA. Brilliant highlights in the Reg Season, stupidly great stats... but when the PO come and he has to put everything out there... he shrinks. Some people are built for the PO, some arent. It is what it is. Still a great Quaterback and maybe he can somehow snatch a ring. But for me its already clear that he isnt a PO riser and never will be.

Actually, I think Lamar is similar to Giannis in the sense that both of them have flaws in their games and have incredible work ethics, however in the playoffs sometimes the moment gets to them. Think about this, if it weren't for 2021, the Greek Freak would be the biggest playoff choker in the NBA by a wide margin, and it pains me to admit it.

This past season? Yes. He actually wasn’t that bad in the 2019 divisional. That was more on the coaching. Harbaugh twice decided to go for it on 4th on their own field before halftime, and they got stuffed each time. The entire team played poorly. However, multiple times in the AFC Championship vs Kansas City, Lamar Jackson had plenty of room to run, and he would instead try to win with his arm. His throws were also atrocious that game. That’s 100% on him.

The problem is that Lamar is the entire offense and he’s easy to contain in the playoffs when defenses know that’s all they need to stop. Similar to Derek henry in Tennessee. There’s only so many incredible plays he can make before that trick runs dry

Ive been going to ravens games since 2000. Lamar is not the issue at all. John harbaugh has 1 afc championship win since 2008 lol. Harbaugh has had some insane rosters over the years and was only able to win a ring with a miracle playoff run and 8 hof players. Until harbaugh leaves, ravens wont win again, and trust me, harbaugh is hitting that 20yr mark with ease. Every time he makes playoffs he buys himself another 3 years.

I'll never stop laughing at all the excuse making the media does for Lamar. 'Greg Roman is making Lamar run too much! It's his fault!' but then after the afc championship game 'Todd Monken is making Lamar throw too much! It's his fault!'. Maybe its time to stop blaming your OC and recognize Lamar has limitations. And before you say 'But Lamar had no weapons!' stop and recognize the chiefs just added former Raven wr hollywood brown to potentially be their #1 wr, because Mahomes is the QB who doesn't have weapons. Mahomes is an mvp qb while lamar remains an mvp running back.
