Is LEGO Worlds Worth It?

LEGO Worlds is a game that could be so much, and probably the most ambitious LEGO game ever made! However for it's year, I think the game limits itself in multiple ways like come on, it's LEGO you should be able to do *WHATEVER YOU WANT* *HOWEVER YOU WANT* *WHENEVER YOU WANT* However the game miserable fails and only kinda nails the "whenever you want" category. Just imagine visiting the LEGO Minecraft world, unlocking freaking Steve, and going to fucking Mos Eisley as that guy, while your weapon it's literally Thor's Mjolnir!

Yes it is. This game is so amazing I still play it in 2022. I've logged over 2,000 hours playing this game. The game was so ahead of it's time. I downloaded it when it was in BETA mode and my pc could barely run it. I think it killed my computer. One of the issues with Lego Worlds was the fact that very few gaming pcs could run it when it came out in 2017. The game renders virtual worlds composed of millions of individual objects. At any time there are thousands and thousands of individual bricks on the screen, all of them subject to special effects which takes an enormous toll on graphics processors. I've played it on three separate computers from 2016 all the way to the present and my third gaming pc was the only one that could run it in high resolution. It's such a beautiful game and the creative possibilities are infinite. the map sizes are enormous, the largest can take 5 to 10 minutes to navigate from one end to another which means you can create almost anything. You can literally render the titanic or an aircraft carrier in full scale. I have built starships spanning thousands of legos that take several minutes to move from one end to the other. Imagine building a full scale model of a star destroyer, as far as I can tell that's entirely possible. In my opinion it's the best game lego ever made and my personal favorite out of the hundreds of pc games I have played over the past decade.

Im thinking of buying this game to digitally build Lego sets (I'd rather do it physically but sets are so expensive). As in look up the instructions online, and then build it in game. Would this game be good for that? Like can you build sections separately and then put them all together, turn stuff on its side, turn stuff upside down, etc?

@@puzzlebox6689 There are a lot of things you can build in Lego Worlds and at almost any scale. Building a full scale model of the Titanic or an imperial destroyer is certainly possible. It’s one of the best features of the game. There are almost no limits to the size of what you can build (almost). Since it’s a 3-D game you can also physically explore whatever you make some thing that isn’t possible if you’re building with real plastic pieces, You can’t build a Lego castle and then shrink yourself down to the size of the night and then explore your castle but you can in Lego worlds. As far as your questions are concerned, You can indeed build section separately and then pull them together there is a specific set of tools that allows you to do this and it’s fairly easy and intuitive to use. You can easily copy and paste or drag or save individual bills and then put them together that’s actually how I’m building out massive star ship by building individual sections and then copying pasting them together instead of building everything brick by brick Which would literally take a lifetime. Unfortunately you can only rotate objects on the in four directions, north, south, east, west but so no flipping objects vertically or placing an object on it’s side. I wish they had added that feature but sadly they didn’t. I hope that answers your question. I would also add that the pieces you can build with our limited there is a fair selection and some pieces are mirrored such as slanted pieces but not every piece. If you’re talking about building Lego sets digitally you have to keep in mind that there are thousands of unique individual building pieces that Lego came up with over the years So you may run into problems if you’re trying to build a set that has unique brick objects that the game doesn’t have on file. So just bare in mind that not every plastic lego piece is represented in the game. Lego Worlds however does include a fairly large list of building sets that are based on real world lego sets which you can use.

Personally I like this game, my only complaints are 1) indoors, the camera is super annoying and 2) the lighting kinda sucks If I build a house, I put lights inside it and they don’t light the room. I do wish the quests were more interesting but i think it’s kinda fun every few months or so to mess around for a bit before getting bored and giving up

Yeah the lamps are weirdly very bad at lighting. Building your own lamps with a yellow or white glow brick usually works

The UI is overwhelming for myself and certainly for anyone younger. If they are interested in LEGO try any of the themed games. Especially LEGO City Undercover.

It's a great game, I played it when I was 10 and it was my 1st game I played on mouse and keyboard and the controls were fine. They work far better with a controller and it's quite easy to understand. Your kids could have had a great game and you wouldn't even have to spend much money.

Kind of sad to hear that it's a flop. I remember it being a bit buggy on launch but it looked cool. So I was hoping that many years later it would be much improved. I guess it can still be fun on PC when you just want to build stuff. I guess I will buy it when it's on sale.

Looking at the Steam price history, there hasn't been a sale since Winter 2020. If you are able to find it for ~$5, it think its worth to try out, but don't expect much. Thanks for watching!
