Yes. Irresponsible. Maybe with a fine and mandatory fencing...all Brady's animals will stay safe. It makes me mad. I have two huskies and every spring and summer we have birds that nest on my roof under the vents. When the babies fledge they leap for the big tree and some don't quite make it to a branch and end up in the grass. They've gotten a hold of a couple of babies and killed 2 about two seasons ago. Now, I have most of my backyard blocked off in the spring and summer so the dogs can't go anywhere near the trees or the other part of the backyard. There is a bush in the corner where they usually go to for safety. This season, I"m confident all the babies will stay out of my huskies reach...and they will stay safe. I just feel bad because they can't stay out long to play and have reduced running space. At night, I let them stay out a little longer but will have to worry about mosquitos LOL. Anyway...it's sad that such a cute breed of dog has the capability to kill. But yes...the neighbors need to be held accountable...whether those are/were Brady's chickens or not. So sad.
@catsandcrafts1716 ай бұрын
@@comtnmist I think all doggos have the capability to kill. All the kitties too. I have 3 very soft snuggly cats, and I've had to limit their outings because they kept bringing me 'presents'. Here in the UK, we have fewer and fewer birds around and I won't have my cats adding to the problem. The doggos are the same, if they get a chance and the moment is right. They're all carnivores so it's far too hardwired to not emerge at times, even though we feed them to bursting! Just the way it is. Responsible people like you (and hopefully me) make reasonable adjustments to cope with both our beloved pets and the wildlife surrounding us.

Many years ago, a friend had two six month old kittens that were terrorizing his older cats and tearing up his house. He was boarding them at the vet, and they were about to go to the shelter when he heard I was looking for cats to adopt. It was a match made in heaven for me. All it took was a little understanding and the right environment for them to thrive. Everyone told me not to take them, but I did and it was the best thing I ever did. They grew up to be friendly and very affectionate cats that lived into their twenties. Sometimes all it takes is patience, love and understanding.

I'm sure your vet is doing the best for Jett. I'll just add that my male cat, years ago, got lethargic, and would go to a "safe place". After a bit of vet trips, we learned he had an enlarged heart. Something like 25% of male cats have enlarged hearts. They said he's not in pain most the time, just when he goes into the safe spot he may be. They could give him medicine, but it wouldn't stop the bouts of pain, and it would give him one or two more years than the 3 they were giving him. Sadly, I didn't have the money to continue to give him medicine for years, so I decided to just make him the happiest cat with the time we had left. He lived another 8 years, and while he occasionally would have troubles, most the time he was the happiest cat, spoiled with love.

The wildlife sure knows where to come, Brady, and you've got a heart of gold rescuing whatever/looking after it/them. Sad to hear about the mother hen & the chicks. Relations with your neighbour must be great. Not! Love your vids and hearing about the goings on with your menagerie. Hope Jet perks up soon. ❤

I hate what happened to the poor hen and her chicks who thought they had found a safe place to stay. It makes me worry about your cats with people like that living next door too - ugh. I’m glad you’re going to care for the remaining chicks. Chickens actually make wonderful pets, and they are young enough to learn to love being held if you handle them lots now! I used to have several pet chickens myself. Poor dear Jet. I sure hope he recovers from whatever is going on with him and feels better soon! ❤️

Sending prayers for Jet to be healthy and well. He is one lucky kitty to have been found by you! Thank you for all that you have done for animals. We had a neighbors Husky come kill one of our pet rabbits. He literally got it thru its cage and hutch! My husband wanted to kill the dog, but we both know the dog was just being what he is and it's the owners who should have to pay for stupid and Irresponsible behavior. I wish I had money to help support your vet bills but right now I am taking care of my mom. Praying for all of us to have what we need.

Brady, may God bless you for taking care of those chicks and all of those sweet animals. I feel so terrible for mama hen. Those chicks are lucky to have you and your family. As other viewers have pointed out, mama hen felt she and the babies were safe in your yard. Best wishes y gracias por tu hermoso contenido. Saludos from Tucson, AZ.

Thanks for the breathtaking scenery and your narration.. that's the icing on the cake. Some people should never own pets! We had the same thing happen to our chickens. At least their Mom knows her babies are being well cared for.

Before I saw what happened to the poor dear mama 🐓 and her 🐥 I was expecting you to get them a little coup or something and add to your little creatures …. People daft and do stupid things. I’m so sorry to hear that happened to you all😢😢 Thank you so much for rescuing the rest of the little chicks. Glad Jett is not on his death bed😊 and hope he gets better soon

I hope Jet feels better soon. I had a cat who once caught a virus and it took her quite a while to fully kick it. Your other cat reminds me of my newest rescue, she suffers from some anxiety and is very clingy in large part because cats have more of an attachment to people and a memory of their home environments than people credit them for and she can remember having a family who adopted then returned her as a younger cat so she spent several months in the place we adopted her from. Now if we're gone too long and she has to be alone she gets very anxious and turns her room upside down; she's also the first cat I've ever had that is so highly affection-motivated and so little interested in food and it all seems to come back to her just wanting the reassurance we're not going to abandon her and doing everything she can to bond with us and please us. She also doesn't like changes to her environment and it takes her a while to accept those because she has a lot of insecurity. I am glad to see Leon is doing well still but sad for the poor mother hen and the chicks she lost. I unfortunately have some neighbors who also don't understand responsible pet care and they have a dog running loose that shouldn't be left outdoors (it's a small breed dog meant for indoor life) that runs around hyper-aggressive because she has to fight against larger animals (we can even get black bears here) and because she goes into heat and draws in male dogs all the time. She also killed some chickens another neighbor was raising and now those two are fighting over it. I won't be surprised if the neighbor ignoring our town laws about letting their dog run loose ends up losing their pup (if so, I hope she goes to a more responsible home). It's always upsetting when people like the idea of having pets and want them but don't put in the time and effort to educate themselves on proper care and the responsibility of it.
