I have a dog like that right now. He is over 13. Very special little fella. His name is Ferguson. When I got him and his brother as puppies. I set with him and felt I could connect my feelings with something inside the dogs spirit. Almost like passed life signatures or echoes. I stayed with this feeling as I asked out the question. "What is your name?" Instantly I was told FERGUSON. It fit him perfect. I love him so much. Watching him age and get sick is very hard. He has had cancer 2 times. Both times a paid cash for a vet to try to save his life with surgery. Both times that 15 pound giant of a heart made it. He fought. But what really got him through was his love for me. And equally the love I have for him. And how much he knew I was right there with him. We had some very terrifying nights battling sickness. The deepness behind his eyes are the closest thing I have seen and felt to a human being. His brother is also a great dog. But I kinda have a feeling maybe Ferguson is due to "transcend" after his brave little life of this round is done. I really hurt so intensely when I think of the day I have to see him go. And going on 14 I guess I just feel blessed that we still have good days together and he is enjoying life and in good health after fighting for so long.

I always like to fantasize about this: Everything we see, hear, smell, feel or taste is mediated by our brains. But that doesn't mean there cannot be a whole universe outside of our brain, a universe that the brain simply cannot translate into senses. So, if the brain (and body) dies, maybe we finally sense that whole universe again, instead of the very, very low resolution universe we are sensing now. Who knows....:)

When I went to my dad's funeral, I approached the open casket and looked down at his body. I wasn't sad when I looked at his face. Instead I had this feeling or knowing that it was just an empty carcass. He wasn't there anymore. There's some kind of energy or presence that is no longer there. It looked empty and lifeless as a wax figure mannequin at a museum. I didn't cry. But I was sad his presence was gone. But about one week later, I received a youtube notification that someone with my dad's full name just subscribed to me. I thought that was very coincidental. But I've learned since from spiritual teachings that there are no coincidences. I asked famous Near Death Experiencer Anita Moorjani what she thought of my experience. She said, she was sure it was my dad communicating with me, that he just wanted to say that he was alright.
@johns75302 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, your dad is gone from your world but I think very likely you will see him again. You can read my comment a few above yours for a couple ideas about all of this. My mom died in 2020, and as corny as this sounds, I saw a rainbow that afternoon after hearing the news. I know that was symbolic and also not a coincidence. Also the night before she died, a song came into my head that I had not heard in years, by Peter Gabriel "Into the sun". He wrote it as a tribute for Lady Diana after she passed. Anyway I know that song popping into my head was not a coincidence either. Part of the chorus to it is "May God's love be with you, always". I think we all need to hear and believe in that.

I had a similar experience . When my grandpa passed and I went to his viewing before cremation, I was staring at him and I had an overwhelming knowing that this is not my grandpa. He wasn’t in there. I kept repeating to myself in my head “Where are you Olli? You are not in there anymore.” That is how I explained it to my friends too, is that I could feel absolutely no energy coming from the body anymore. I expected to feel some connection to the body still. I had a deep realization that our body is just a shell that is carrying around our consciousness until we die . We (true self) are separate from the body. It made me go deep with realizations I didn’t have before.

When I tell you that she was amazing, such a Loving BE-ing, and as a dog, she really was. She was always here for us. She would always in her own ways, cheer us up, give us hugs (place her self right next to you, not leave until you received a good, full hug, or would come over to you, while sitting on couch, up on her hind legs, place her body over your chest, head and neck extended on your shoulder), kisses, Love, display deep, loud howls to express herself, run laps in the backyard because she was happy and full of Life energy, protect us, "talk" to us with her beautiful expressive eyes, and doggie smiles, love to play with us and her toys, share a nibble or two, was gentle, helpful, a protector, a companion, a doggie daughter and member of my family, and did not like separation, especially did not like any doors closed, keeping her from meeting, greeting, being with people. She was Loved, still is, and is deeply, sorely, surely missed. I know that in time, that we pass on, from the body...But when it happens, it hurts. It's a shock. There is a lot of feelings, emotions, and "hurt" involved, a whole lot of change going on, feels like a huge loss, disbelief, grief, acknowledgement, acceptance, removal, understanding and even lack of understanding, and is a huge process to go through, a to "learn" to let go of...It's like, the more you Love, the deeper, the harder it is to let go, but the Love, and even Gratitude, memories remains... Moving on takes time, healing is happening, and we keep busy with things. We make changes in our lives. Opportunities in many ways and forms arise and arrive. We make the best of our situations as much as we can, as much as we want to, and we go on. Peace takes presence. Love remains. The Self, remains. We move forward, from living in the past, to living in the NOW... It's quite a Journey, an Experience, and I am Grateful, (but still hurts, because I miss her...) The answer to this question heavily depends on your own perception of 'self' and on how strongly you are identified with your ego. If you're 100% merged with it, then the answer is simple: when your body dies, your ego dies with it, so the fake 'you' disappears. If 'you' believe it, it's certainly true in your own reality. But if you are deeply connected with your true essence (which most people call 'soul', but the term is avoided here to help those with 'atheistic' views), then you already know the answer, and you need no proof in the realm of mind/logic. You simply know/feel on a very deep level that the 'true self' is indestructible, being an integral part of the ultimate universal consciousness.

While rebirth surely isn't necessary, the concept is just an extension of what we can observe every day. What do we do when we pick up an item? Most people are scared to imagine that there is life after death.. or that life actually continues, even though the means to communicate with it falls apart: just like breaking the radio set! Radio waves are still there but the radio 📻 is dead silent!! So they would rather consider the after death thing as an ego thing rather than a “mystery” to say the least! This is Deep, Eckhart! A very good and fair question. Yes, of course the egoic mind would like to think that we live forever and that is a fair point, but I really don't believe that that is the case at all. It's our consciousness that animates our body and brain, not our brain that animates our body. I just have a very strong feeling that we are consciousness and not our brain. I think the best evidence you can get that we are consciousness and not our brain is from people who have had "near death experiences" (NDE). Over and over again, people who have had NDE will tell you without any doubt, that when they were physically dead, no brain activity at all, they were still very conscious of their surroundings and even had the whole life review, being enveloped by the light (describing it as home), and felt even more alive than when they were physically dead. I personally have zero doubt that we are immortal beings, living inside a human body in order to learn lessons and grow spiritually. I've always felt this and instinctively know it's TRUE.

When you die, your brain doesn't die immediately. Hence it's possible to revive drowned victims even if there's no vital signs of life for few minutes. Which means that brain activity is still possible and very active in those minutes. Such persons may still be physically aware of their surroundings. Therefore, NDE may just be brain activity in those last few minutes. It would be like you were dreaming but that you weren't breathing and your heart wasn't beating anymore

i have felt my dead animal coming towards me more than once, I "saw" people who died and i felt and heard their presence. They tried to visit me and speak with me, i am absolutely convinced they were there, i never sought that or longed for it. Life is not dead. Life goes on, and is evolving into all sorts of situations. To me this is no surprise, i just go with what happens. And there is no need to deny this. They are there still, some more then others, and this is to me the truth.

I think the answer to the young lady's question is another question, "who is it that needs to know the answer" and that is undoubtedly the ego,, our fearful survival mind. We our true selves the conscious beings are happy to accept what is without the need to know what will be ahead of time, we are happy to simply trust that whatever happens next everything really will be more than OK. We are, so grateful for and appreciative of having this amazing experience and opportunity in the first place we'd absolutely love it to go on forever, but equally even it turned out to be a one time deal, we'd still be every bit as grateful, if not even more grateful to have had it at all,. Which is probably the very reason we don't know ahead of time,, so we can truly appreciate what we have right here right now. Live every lifetime as if it's your last, maybe ☺️🙏🙏🙏🙏

That's the best discussion I heard on that topic. It's possible that through intelligent design we were never meant to be able to prove the soul scientifically, a possibility which may not sit well with those that want everything factual and scientifically defined. Humans may eventually explain it or maybe the brain is responsible 100 percent for consciousness. I have my doubts sometimes but I'd like and tend to believe there's an afterlife.

I have known for decades that the bodies we wear are an interface with this reality, and I became aware of that long before I knew of Eckhart Tolle, but the man changed my life through his writings. He gave me a deep insight into myself which on a macro scale explains so much that goes on in the whole world, why conflict exists, why people get sick. It is all between the human ego and the God self that is the soul, but to understand it fully you have to read Tolle.

My parents divorced when I was one. The custody was one week with Mom and one week with Dad. At both homes I had pet cats. I had gotten very close to my pets as I was an only child and going through the things kids go through in those situations. I remember very vividly that I was at my Dad's and went to sleep that night, my dream was very different than any other dream I have had up till that point. I saw cat from my Mom's and he came to me. Without words he spoke in my head, he said that he is going now and basically said goodbye. When I woke I was crying, somehow I knew he had passed. Then there was a voice that was not my own and it said pray for him. The only prayer I knew was the Hail Mary. So, I did just that. The following week I was at my Mom's and she said she could not find our cat from last week, he never came home. I could not bring myself to tell her for fear that she'd think I was nuts. A few days past and a neighbor said he saw our cat run over in the street, we found him and buried him. From then on any pet I lost and was not aware that they had past I would see them in a dream and I would pray for them like the voice asked. As an adult, humans that I am close to that are close to death I start to see them in my head, it is like a thought but the feeling that comes with it feels like nothing else. It is how I know. There is something past this "life".

Prayers are so much stronger than one could imagine. There is the right kind of prayers and the kind that will not work. The kind that do not work are ego filled. Although, some ego prayers come to fruition, but do so only to show you what is really important. Praying to be rich and getting it, but only to see that you are not fulfilled kind of thing. When I was 11 my step Mom and step brother went into to Mall and I decided to wait in the car. I found matches in the glove box and figured out that I could extinguish the flame by breathing in really hard and fast. Of course I was inhaling the sulfur. On the third match my throat closed, and I was alone in the car, in the parking lot. Seconds felt like minutes and at a certain point I knew it was time to give up. My last thought was, " please God save me". Out of no where my throat open and I took the deepest breath ever. It happened on that last word/thought, "Me". I share these bc I get so disheartened to hear someone doubt. These experiences have shaped my life. There is without a doubt something past this current experience/life.

I had a similar experience my dog was killed and got to see and hold her one last time as I dosed off to sleep and my cat also in the same time period died and never found the body , but heard her meowing as I went to sleep . The question of whether or not there’s a Source beyond the world and whether or not we survive the world comes from the ego; from the programming. The Inner Being already knows the deal and would never ask the question. But It will prompt us to seek for It, because ultimately, every individual must answer the question for themselves. That’s the whole point of being here. As Eckhart consistently teaches, words are only pointers. They lead us to the water. But it’s up to us to drink. The ego mind will do everything it can to make us avoid that.

I think the reason why do not have memories of death is cause memories are related to the physical body. In that state you are just an observer. This is why you don't become lucid while you dream cause memory doesn't engage but you still are dreaming but your physical body isn't engaged. It's just a concept I been working on from a decode of lucid dreaming practice. Singing also helps you find a way to ground your self to lucid dream. It all comes from that term "grounded".

“I only know that I know nothing” to paraphrase Socrates. In truth, if we examine it honestly and carefully in the depths of our being, we cannot KNOW for certain what happens after death. I’ve had personal experiences that lead me to form my own beliefs and ideas and yet I could not in good conscience sit here and tell anyone I know for certain and it’s my opinion that anyone who tells you they can is fooling themselves or trying to fool you. It is the greatest of mysteries, however I can say that all is not what it appears at the surface level of thought and thinking and to be at peace we must be truly content with the not knowing of these things and live our lives as best we can as if this were the first and only time we have or will be here Hope anyone reading this has a wonderful day 🙏🏻❤️

If someone smashes the radio that is playing the 9th symphony, it doesn’t equate to the music no longer being played somewhere “out there”. Our brains are wired and like radios pick up on and react to frequencies and bring in energies of sort so it is plausible we are actually out there but choosing to play in a particular body/brain. What fun!!!!
@TerriblePerfection2 жыл бұрын
This seems like a counterpart to the question of how we recognize ourselves each day...not in a physical sense but a mental one. Is it not the memories we have? Of that grandparent? That bed? Memories are rooted in the past, but life itself is a continuous now moment, so we are actually reborn each moment. Maybe her question is backwards. Maybe death isn't something that happens to us but to others, when we can no longer create new memories of that person, and they can't support our idea of a separate self. Our own death can't be experienced because the observing self is no longer present. We can know that we're dying, but not dead.

I really need to hear the rest of this! I am sure Eckhart embellished further on this answer, but the question from Tina still remains. Eckhart gave a well-reasoned argument to suggest that the physical and the etheric/consciousness are separate, but do the same die the same death? Suffice to say that they mutually exclusive fields of matter and non-matter, but I would love to know Eckharts opinion on the latter surviving the former.
