For sure relevant. I’ve had my Helix since launch day in 2015. This thing is a tank. With Line 6 continuing to provide updates and improvements, the decision is easy for me. I don’t think I’ve seen a more user friendly unit than the Helix.

Still relevant for sure as it is an reliable unit which allows me to dial in every tone I like to use and more. So what more should I ask for.

Did you have the squeaky pedal or the pedal error that you can't go back down 0%, but stops around 3%-6%? I heard these was a problem.

In the last 3 years, I've transitioned from HX Stomp to Fractal FM3, then to Fractal FM9, and finally to Helix Floor. Personally, I believe that Fractal's sounds are of higher quality, especially the ambient effects. However, the onboard programming simplicity of Helix (excluding the PC interface, which is good for both brands) is much more practical and intuitive, in my opinion. I find that Fractal's sound is greatly appreciated when using headphones, but as soon as you're in a rehearsal room or performing live, the qualitative difference between Fractal and Helix narrows to the point where I prefer using Helix for its onboard simplicity and intuitiveness. I don't deny that I would like to find, on a hypothetical "Helix Floor 2nd Gen," the same quality of ambient effects as Fractal. Nevertheless, I am content with Helix Floor, which remains an excellent choice even in 2024.

I bought mine in 2020 and absolutely love it. There are countless stuff inside this device. Not sure is this the best but sure it is still relevant in 2024

I got my Helix Floor about three years ago and before the Cab Updates I was a bit underwhelmed.But after the subsequent updates, I love my Helix. It's only now that I am fully appreciative of the people that make Helix.Admiration. I use a certain template by Jason Sadites which is excellent. Everything is so intuitive now. I still play real Marshalls, Fenders etc but the amps and cabs in Helix are ALL so useable too. I hope you do well with yours as I think it is a great time to be a fan of Line 6.

I think the Helix was ahead of it's time when it first came out. It's the continuous support and development we see in regular new releases that keep it relevant now and hopefully going forward.

As long as Line 6 continues to release firmware updates the Helix will remain relevant and at or near top of class. It still continues to get better all the time.

I've had my HX Stomp for a little over 3 years now, and it just keeps getting better with Firmware Updates, and my understanding of how to use the unit. I get great sounds out of this small powerhouse. There is a newish Modeler by Hotone called the Ampero II Stage that has got a great design, UI, and is loaded with great features at a good price. I think it's worth checking out. Leon Todd made a very good video about it recently.

Yeah there's so many options for us available nowadays! I feel I'm still learning to use my Helix and really integrating it into my workflow. I'm interested to see how I feel about it several months later for example. The Hotone thing did look great! I might have to check it out.

Helix is probably the modelling unit that has had the most influence on the market as a whole. Along with the hx stomp which revolutinized the pedalboard style game.

I havent seen anything come out that has "blown" the helix away. Yes there are new modellers but they really havent introduced anything new and i believe all modellers sound pretty damn good now. In a live mix no one is going to tell the difference. The continual upgrades and the scope of what the helix can do and its cost make it the best all round professional modeller.

For me , over 30 years producing music Helix is a highly valuable tool and happy to own one. The ONLY thing that I’m not happy of is not to have a proprietary app to edit patches and sounds.

Short answer , no - 2024 will be wild with Multi effect / IR/ Modeller + FRFR stuff - We are now moving from the telegraph into the cellphone era :)

line 6 used to be a company that each year was launching great products that were ahead of everyone . things that after 10 years chinese companies like Mooer are finally copying. . also other companies launched modelers emulating things that Line 6 did first .. for me it is clear that Yamaha destroyed their business model when they bought them . .since yamaha owns them every year less product and innovations are launched. . a shame .. I hope they come back .. Helix was their last great thing. . i do own 5 James Tyler Variax, pretty much all the modelers they launched .. but they have been slow and just updating softare . . sad ..

⁠@@CatPickStudiosI’m seriously considering buying an Lt… but i really want the big monster with the 4 loops and soo many routing options to more easily create a WDW setup. Im currently running a katana 100 112 ( D1) with my joyo zombie (pwr amp only) into a 412 for added low end D1 supplemental) a ehx 44 Mag into a 212 cab (D2/ katana stereo ) and stereo Efx running from the efx loop of the katana out to my pod HD500X into a Harley benton thunder 99 driving 2 210 floor wedges for the W left and right. Further more its not a true WDW as I also use the efx in the katana to create a quasi quad sound effect with offset stereo dlys for the ultimate shoegaze experience essentially a WDwW. In my room it’s incredible, to try to capture it on tape (or hard drive i guess) would be impossible without some kind of surround processing. I feel like the options provided by the full helix would make my black spaghetti monster shrink considerably to a more comfortable setup. As for now I’ll continue to ride the “ that’s a lot of stuff, can’t you just play acoustic. “ No i don’t play well enough to not hide in a wash of cascading reverbs , modulation, 4 way panning and dly that fill in and cover my flubs” train. 😂 Now go play with ya kids. 🏂⛷️⛸️⚽️🎡🎠🎣.
