I think the noise issue you experience in this video is more to do with the fact your signal is running straight into the ID44 - I've experienced weird noises (like you do in this video when rolling the guitar volume all the way down to 0, when running direct into an interface, which I think is due to how it grounds the signal differently than when plugging straight into a real amplifier!
@CatPickStudios3 күн бұрын
Hmm you might be right. I am technically using a dedicated guitar input, but my guess there are good ones and then there's not-so-good-ones as well. I had a UA Apollo Twin for a while and that one worked perfectly in situations like this. ID 44MKii is very good, but maybe the guitar input is a bit more basic than on UA.

Thanks for sharing, great tips. By the way, how close should the guitar be to the microphone (s) ?
@CatPickStudios10 күн бұрын
It depends on what kind of sound you want to record: the closer you have the microphone, the more you'll get low end emphasis. In my experience this varies a lot between different guitars and microphones, so you'll have to experiment. Something like SM58 is pretty easy to start with and you can great tones with just that. Once you're comfortable with one microphone setup, you can experiment a second one as well. I think the main thing is to get started and actually record yourself. If you want to be smarter than me, then you'll also document where you placed the microphone(s) for different takes to find the recording setup that sounds best to you.

Till now all of the power amp emulations I have palyed were not great... So I still play ENGL in load box+ IR Cabsim. From IR quality the best one is the AMT pangea cp-100 (70$ used), is same good as other like boss IR-2, etc, but much cheaper. Mooer had some issues at higher frequencies at higher levels. Since few months I own m-wave tankG its IR is not close so good as from AMT, but preamp section is great and it has built in battery, so you can always take it with you.

Hey Vlad! got a question about the backing tracks.... Let's say you got a 4 bar drumbeat backing track, will it repeat itself until you stop it or will it stop as soon as the backing track ends?
@CatPickStudiosАй бұрын
Hey! I'm not sure tbh. I never tried uploading my own backing track into it. I tried searching the manual, but didn't find an aswer to your question there. If you're on Facebook, you could try messaging NUX there. Sorry for not providing more help on this.
@thewrongbike7709Ай бұрын
Some further points. 1/ the manual is completely inadequate. I had to look at KZbin for guidance. 2/ There are many more amps than you showed but you need to plug it in to the PC to select them. 3/ Its a live tool only if you have a PA system and you use a power supply. I don't think that the little 9V cable would survive. 4/ the only defects are some distortion and some generic reverbs. This is odd since the much cheaper NUX mighty plug has modulations and delays. 5/ you really need a PC to configure it. Still think its a live tool? 6/ The control knobs a digital so you don't know what it presets are on until you touch it. You get big tone jumps as a result. Thank for finding the looper and drums. I didn't know it existed. However the drum volume is too low. The is no way to stop and start the looper except with a mouse! It might work with a MIDI foot switch but you will also need a MIDI host device, so that's 2 extra boxes. Basicly unusable. I would have swapped that function for a mod effect. I appreciate that your views are you own but they gave you a £150 box for free. If you don't say nice things, they stop sending you boxes.
@CatPickStudiosАй бұрын
Well well, there's quite a lot to unpack here. So let's get started: 1) Personally I found the manual useful as it helped me to figure out stuff about drum machine I couldn't find from other people's videos. There's also a NUX Amp Academy user group on Facebook that is really helpful. 2-3) Yes that is how most modelers work: you design your sounds, choose the amps etc. before playing live. 4. That is what this pedal is mainly designed for: to be an "amp" on your pedalboard and that's it. Everything else I would consider 'extra'. 5. Please refer to the answers 2-3 6. Please refer to the answers 2-3 It's completely ok not to be a fan of modelling technology. And luckily there's plenty analog alternatives like BluGuitar Amp1 for example that won't break the bank and sound fantastic. Also thanks for the 'they won't send you any more boxes' comment, haven't heard that in several years now. Happy New Year 2025!

I am here to reiterate how much better the Friedman IR line of pedals with the 2.0 update is in case anyone is thinking of getting rid of theirs or is on the fence. I have the IR-D and while I liked it stock, it wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be. The update takes it to a whole new level simply in terms of sound and feel(I don't use the IRs or power amp simulation as I play it through my amps effects loop with a switcher to jump back and forth between my IR-D and my fender clean amp). Without the update it sounded good but lacked the overall oomph and massive sound you would expect from a marshall/friedman amp and I thought the higher gain settings were too compressed, especially with higher output humbucker pickups like what I have in my SG. It now packs a punch and sounds overall much much bigger while having more clarity. It is much much more touch sensitive. The gain is more open and less compressed. The update takes it to a whole new level. I went from liking the pedal to being genuinely in awe of the pedal.
@FranciscoFarias-d6eАй бұрын
I believe fender created a third guitar. It will fall under its own category and it will help alot with electric guitar playing and the blend of having it mix with the pickups that come with it.

For some reason when ever I connect this device to the mixers Aux I am able to hear only one side of my earphones, whereas when I connected to regular phones out of the mixer or device , I can give both of it. Any Help ??
@mSarimaaАй бұрын
You need two auxes, one for each ear with a y split cable. Or a wired headphone amp that can feed a mono signal to Both sides of headphones. If you connect any headphones to the mixer aux, you will get only one side as it is a physical mono connection.
@jafferysequeiraАй бұрын
@ omg I got your point but I didn’t understand the Soloution quite well
@mSarimaaАй бұрын
@@jafferysequeirayou need a cable that splits the trs connector to two ts plugs and connect those to two different aux outs of your mixer, for example aux 1 and 2. That way aux 1 is your left signal for your IEM and aux 2 is your right. If you use a headphone amp or pack or a wired monitoring solution, those can usually be set to mono mode. They can Merge one aux signal (mono) to sides of a headphone jack so you hear the signal from Both ears. Then you can connect the NUX where you would normally connect the headphones on the unit. We address this in the video above.

If I had enough money, of all brands, I'll pick Sandberg anytime. But I don't, so I bought Harley Benton Enhanced MP-4MN. And I'm quite happy with my choice. For home playing, small clubs and so on, no one needs anything more expensive. I rounded the headstock a little, and one day I'll probably replace the preamp, but that's it. I'm sure there won't be any need for any other upgrades and that the instrument will be able to fulfill all possible tasks. Jazz, rock, funk... whatever... you'll be ready for it!
