Dios mio! You wanna scare people away. I live in Fort Lauderdale. Sure, if you wanna do I-95 at rush hour, the traffic is bad. And Oakland Park Blvd east bound in the morning and west bound in the evening is a parking lot. But in general, driving here is no worse than in other big cities in the US and abroad. We own a house (2,000 sq ft.) that we bought for $260,000. Sure we had some changes but that was so cheap that we had $ to spare and even had a new roof put on. And yes, there is a lot going on here - but if you donʻt live on the beach or Las Olas, it is all a bit away from you. Join in if you want. I find the summer temperatures better than in northern Florida where my parents used to live. And schools: my I suggest the three public IB schools in Broward? Yipes! Iʻm glad I didnʻt watch your flic before I moved here.

Is hurricane season and flooding a big issue in ft Lauderdale? Because my family and I are looking to call coconut Creek our new home
@LivinginFortLauderdale4 жыл бұрын
Any kind of major flooding that damages property isn’t typically an issue. As far as hurricane season goes, it’s just part of living in Florida. We have insurance to cover damages if something does happen and you also have the option to evacuate before the storm because we know in advance if and when they are going to hit. I have been in Florida all of my life and haven’t evacuated once. Also, No major damage to any property that I’ve been in during a storm. The worst part is going without electricity for days after the storm passes.

Is Fort Lauderdale a big city?
@LivinginFortLauderdale4 жыл бұрын
+M S It’s hard to answer that question with a simple “yes” or “no”. Fort Lauderdale is about 36 square miles with a population close to 183,000 people. so, I think it’s subjective. If you’re coming from somewhere like New York City, which is super densely populated and has an area of over 300 square miles, Ft. Lauderdale is not going to seem like a big city. However, if you’re coming from somewhere that only has a population of something like 150,000 people, Ft. Lauderdale is probably going to seem like a big city. Hope that helps.
@sheambitious29lachelle173 жыл бұрын
