I don't like cilantro, but I really like coriander. It's weird, but I'm one of those who feel cilantro tastes like soap while people who like it mention a citrusy flavour? Well, I do feel the citrusy flavour in coriander, but no soap. It's strange.

In my family my sister and mom HATE the taste of cilantro, but my dad and I LOVE it (also both my mom and sister hate Licorice and Fennel but my dad and I don't mind it- same with radishes and olives-purely flavor wise)

Fun fact: it’s technically not Carne Asada unless it’s cooked over an open flame. On a pan it’d be Carne Guisada. I guess it’s like how Tandoori Chicken needs a tandoor.

I sometimes make a similar scramble and it freezes really well as a breakfast burrito. You make the scramble on a day when you have the energy and whatever's leftover, wrap it in tortillas and stick 'em in the freezer. Then, when you're hungover- instant hangover food. IDK about other people, but something bready really helps when I'm hungover and the tortilla does just that. Really good w/ a little avocado, too.

This moment you feel like Merle is not hungover, she is actually still drunk 🤣

The greens can be replaced. If you don’t like cilantro you can use parsley, green onions or ciboullette, or even fresh basil, but I bet there’s a freshness to that dish that needs to be completed 😮

I made something similar for a vegan bodybuilder I was dating: do you like soyrizo? I’d do breakfast tacos for him by just sautéing some shrooms, then the soyrizo, add eggs (I like adding a tiny bit of water to just egg or opt in real ones), and season however you prefer but I do a hint of salt and tons of garlic both fresh and powder lol. I usually only have beans for dinner cuz I don’t like being gassy all day but you could do that for more protein For the tortillas I put the slightest bit of a good garlic mayo and pico 🥹 I will now call the dish Lizzo but better lmao

I watched a 10 min youtube video on how to pronounce Worcestershire sauce . It’s pronounced “wust-assure” or “Wuhst-ē-sher” Or “wuss (like you big wuss!)- tuh (like tuh-mater)- sure” wuss-tuh-sure Omg that was hard to write 😂 Wow I love how every recipe you attempt, something is “wrong” and it takes at least 2 hours (either going to the store, or making the carne asada from scratch) 😂 . Oh Merle severe egg allergy here so I'm a frequent user of the liquid just egg. I find that the texture remains more fluffy clumps if I sautée the "meat" and veggies in a nonstick skillet first to soften and heat through then scrape onto my serving dish. If needed add more oil and add the liquid just egg and heat over low/medium heat and gently scrape and fold until the just egg solidifies. After that gently fold in the meat/veg and cheese, plate and serve. Whenever I do it all at once the egg turns into tiny crumbles that while still tastes good is less aesthetically pleasing. Either way would still make an excellent breakfast burrito though. Also you probably already know this but pairing a plant based source of iron with a source of vitamin c helps aid in iron absorption.

Definitely interested in a vegan bacon ranking video. I've tried the occasional random product and in my experience nothing comes anywhere close. It's just a really unique flavor/texture profile. Closest I've come are products meant to be crushed up and used as "bacon bits" for toppings. Mostly because they add the familiar crunch that crisp bacon does, but are otherwise masked by the rest of the dish so you just can't notice it's not the same. But any product that tries to actually mimic strip bacon as a meal on its own? NOOOOOPE.
