Great topic! I agree with what you all shared.... I feel like the reason many folks split is because they don't fully understand what real love encompasses. The closer we are to God, the more we will by nature demonstrate the fruit of the spirit that in turn will help us to truly know how to love and show it and it's components to others.

God's love for us is perfect,and His love for His children is stronger than death. However, if we don't accept that love,or we do anything to violate that love , we cannot then benefit from His love,because we are then unable to reciprocate eventhough He has enabled us to do so. Therefore, I believe that love is enough if God's love is the overarching element in our relationships,but if one party violates the principles of love, for the person who has violated those principles, love will not seem enough.

Hi to one of my young, favorite, energetic, adventurous couple. Really enjoyed the conversation and content. To make my contribution: I agree that Love is an action word. It is a verb, a doing verb. I believe "Love is ENOUGH! And this is so because God, Himself is LOVE! Commenting on 1 Corinthians 13: Selfless love is Patient,... not jealous,... not arrogant,... does not seek its own etc. Also if we take a look at the closing verses of 1 Corinthians 12, it speaks of the importance and necessity of gifts, but it closes its chapter by saying, "But I show you a more excellent way and then Chapter 13 is introduced. If I...but have not love..... I also like that mention is made of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, which begins with Love. Love's Characteristics are Joy, Peace etc.

Yeaa a lot of those movies brainwashed us to view love as a feeling and that butterfly in the tummy. Sadly though, feelings are fleeting, they come and go so love as a "feeling" will never be enough as it's not a steady foundation. XyZ, it is so good to see you both again. I believe love is the foundation of every marriage. It is the glue that keeps it together. Xaundre, I agree that love is not a feeling. If it was, I would not be married for 44 years. As you said it is an all encompassing principle. God is love! Love is certainly enough. We oftentimes misrepresent the meaning of love. Unless we look at the biblical guide to what love really is we will never fully understand.

This was a very interesting discourse. Honestly, I've been on the fence too, but realize that it was because I may have been alternating between different frames of reference. So, if we look at love as we should (an 'all encompassing principle/1 Corinthians 13-type love' ), it should be enough. If it's not, something may be off. Really liked this video...

Carnal love is not enough but if we exhibit a fraction of God's love meaning the way he loves and the way he commands us to love it would be enough. That 1 Corinthians 13 kind of love encompasses all we need and that is enough and that's why we fall into problems and there are so many issues in any kind of relationship because we don't love like how God commands us to love. God was clear when he gave the commandment to love each other as he loved us. On its own, it would never be. Usually, people are thinking of 'eros' love - physical and emotional attraction to the opposite sex. That definitely is not enough! But, been you speak of love as an all encompassing principle, it leaves no space for pain and failure. It's guided and covered by God Himself, who is the author of real true love.

Love should be enough but oftentimes to ascertain its existence in a relationship takes time and wisdom; however, when certain attachments are formed prematurely, people jump ahead and commit to a relationship based on their idea of love as a feeling. Before I thought about loving anyone, I checked their relationship with God. I believe that God is love and if the man is wrapped up and tied up with Him and loves me then that love has to be enough because God is going to help him to take care of me. I remember at a stage in my relationship, before we even thought about marriage, I felt this love from my husband, I couldnt explain it, I never understood it, I somehow even felt undeserving of it, it was like I had an encounter with Jesus. If I can look at that man and see the love of God amidst all the imperfections I will stay for that love alone and I just continue to pray that I stay in this principle of love.

I believe love is enough. Why? Because if you look to the Cross, it was LOVE that made Jesus Christ took off divinity and put on humanity. That LOVE took Him to the Cross to die for you and for me, so that we could be saved us from our sins; so we could be "...joint heirs with Jesus...." It's that LOVE (which is enough) that gives us hope within our hearts, because there is STILL an empty grave. LOVE came, died (so I (we) could live), and rose from the dead. So, if we demonstrate this kind of godly, 1 Corinthians 13 kinda love to our spouse, it IS enough.❤❤❤❤
