Love isn't seamless, it's a hard journey that causes you to question it at different points along the way. Love often requires significant compromises, sacrifices, and often times it leads to a dead-end for many relationships after all that effort. Is it really worth the risk? Is it worth the trouble?

Yes. Love is worth it. Relationships? No! Let me explain: For me, love is worth going through the ups and downs with someone. But Relationships via marriage and/or cohabitation aren't worth the price of autonomy. No matter how great a relationship is, it will always cost you some freedom. My dream relationship would be me and my partner live in a duplex, where we both have our own homes next to each other. I don't have a key to their place and they don't have a key to mine. We see each other ONLY when we're in the mood to.

I can definitely understand your viewpoint on this subject. I believe you are a bit closed minded breaking this subject down to fit all. In the real world there are statistics about marriages. Most do not work out as well as relationships. I’d rather have friendships and pets, I am not lonely and don’t feel anything lacking in my life. I am content and peaceful with my new life, I am truly blessed.😊

I don't believe I spoke in definitives or made generalizations about what would fit for everyone. I'm not sure what I said that gave you that impression. As I myself struggle with the concept itself, which I believe I touched on.

Love is subjective. Everyone has a degree of what true love is. It’s a matter of finding equal frequency with another person. The search is never easy. I’ve had my heart broken in half…You learn from that tho. You GROW from those things. And if you truly love yourself, you’re ready to love others. 🙏🏾

Equal frequency is soo right! All about alignment. Sometimes people who were once aligned grow apart and shift out of alignment and sometimes people develop further into alignment, and the bond develops deeper. Wise words bro. Thank you

In this generation full of broken people, I feel like in my opinion that love and relationships altogether barely does anything (like literally 10% effective). People are starting to turn against each other, wars and crimes against humanity are starting to rise and is a big concern, and people have been brainwashed by other sources of knowledge that they don't even act like themselves anymore. In the end, the only thing you'll have left is your own family. Honestly, it's more than enough that I have my own family to love me and back me up. Its easy to say you love a person, but do you actually mean it, let alone be open to it? So if anything with this precious process, my final conclusion is that no. The way love is, this generation has just about collapsed from the unprecedented exhaustion of war and hate against others. If by some miracle we were able to find a way to get along in this world, we won't stand a chance.

It took me a very long time full of patience and frustration to find my current partner, and if our relationship ever ended I'm not sure I'd have it in me to be patient enough again to try to do it another time. So I totally get it.

"It's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all." I disagree. 12 years of my life, I loved. It was instantaneous .. at first sight .. a lightning bolt that struck over 4380 days. (Not exact but pretty damn close.) I was incapacitated by that electricity....so damn incapacitated, I couldn't see it frying my brain and leaving spasming like an epileptic in the throws of a fit. She left in the end... I tried to " end it all", because she was my meaning... I lived for her... But when I found out the truth I became enraged... She had lust for another at her place of work. Just like that, after telling me in that sweet voice, " you are the one.. I hate everyone but you.. run away with me.. never leave me.. always and forever.. please never die.. be alone with me.. I'm addicted to you.. I love you.." She left like that lightning. Told me she would help her friend through a tough time..and I trusted her.. Told me she would come back..and I trusted her.. I trusted her.... completely. Never again. The pills came back up and I vomited blood for a while...that pain didn't compare to the absolute loneliness. Thousands of miles from my family, I sat in a shitty little apartment...no friends...just that void. Today my void is full. I chose what to fill it with and none of it is good. I will never trust again. I will work on my health and outlive that...woman. I will never again get caught like that again. I will never trust again. Amor fati. Amor dolor. Memento mori. open.spotify.com/track/2UZxUSA4TxbS5tXUB5QSoL?si=26BzCXWGQyWEsDIprbsSpQ&

I'm sorry to hear that experience has been so traumatic for you. Genuine love involves respect and loyalty. It sounds like that was absent from your prior partner. I understand how such an experience could cause a permanent stain on the idea of relationships for you.

It is absolutely tough. I was single from 16-27. Would have been longer if I didn't meet my current partner. I refused to settle just to be in a relationship and it's hard to find the person worth going through the challenge with. I would have happily stayed single otherwise. Hope you've found happiness!
