I am a big K. DOT fan and is very familiar with Lupe, and there are times Dot reminds me of Lupe. Its more the MUSIC and not Kendrick’s rapping style. Kendrick to me is just more versatile than Lupe. Kendrick got a billion personalities, flows and styles. And Kendrick is more creative and his lyrics is more easily digestible. Lupe writes as if the point of rapping is to appeal to MIT graduates, yet Kendrick the one with the Pulitzer award. Im sure that burns Lupe’s soul. Kendrick is like Lupe if Lupe got out of his own way. Maybe that’s why he hates him. Kendrick has completely let himself free as an artist, which is why I love and admire him so much.

Man I used to love Lupe. I was on Lupe heavy before Kendrick. Now I prefer Kendrick. But my ears, mind and heart has room for an infinite amount of artists. I can go to multiple concerts a year. Lupe is vastly better. Got screwed by his label so now he's not as big as he once was. And when you're not as big, what happens? You don't get proper credit for your work. Nobody wants to be the underrated person. Kendrick takes ideas from Lupe too. Lupe makes an album that plays forward and in reverse (Tetsuo and Youth), then Kendrick does it (DAMN). Now people are trying to say that Kendrick used a bunch of album titles to make bars on one of his new songs (Lupe did that on Adoration Of The Magi on the T&Y album). Lupe is well within his right to feel some type of way. I know one thing though... Lupe is the one person Kendrick never goes after no matter what he does or says. But he went after a far inferior rapper in Drake.

You sure about that? I've never known east Coast artist to be jealous of West coast artist. Especially since most east Coast artist beef with east Coast artist because of the level of competition on the east Coast compared to the West. Why kendrick Lamar? why not J Cole, Nas, rakim, kweli, or common. After all these are all high Caliber conscious rappers and just a few. My point being is there is way to much talent over there on the east coast, even if the samurai was jealous of Kendrick. Would it even matter? It's east Coast vs West Coast. Lupe’s not jealous, he’s given kdot his flowers on many of occasions, he’s probably more so irritated by how people keep comparing them and then disregarding the things he’s done. Lupe’s been doing jazz infused music deeply saturated with black consciousness and people always looked over it then, kdot does and when he’s not overly ecstatic about people look at it like hate. When asked is kdot a better rapper than him , he says “no” does he make better songs “Yes”. Hip hop is the culture, Rap is just one of the many expressive outlets of the culture. So you have Emcee and Rappers. Emcee embody the culture a craft there music with substance, literally devices, technique and concepts. Rappers usually just focus on putting words together but often lack substance in the pursuit of crafting songs. Examples Lupe and lil Wayne. The same with Kendrick and Drake. Kendrick is more of the the emcee, Drake more of just rapping to rap but he can get in his emcee bag when he wants but it’s rare. Tupac and biggie. Biggie technical skills at rapping was better but pac had more substance in his music

Most of how Lupe is perceived is driven by the media who’ve always had an axe to grind with him. He can be off putting, but the industry put him through the ringer so that the likes of Kendrick and Cole could flourish
