The makeup market is so oversaturated. I feel like the average makeup user uses what they like and that's that. I barely try anything new these days. I found this list of new makeup to be overwhelming.

I always said Euphoria had such an impact on the makeup industry that no brand is able to recreate that level of a spectacle in makeup so they’re slowly moving into skincare and ‘clean’ makeup

i think it’s kind of smart for disney to do collabs with drugstore and cheaper brands since it does look more childish, parents could get it for their young kids to try makeup for fun without breaking the bank and it looks cute for them

I feel like everything has been done before at this point stylistically and brands can only improve formulas now as forms of innovation. Everything else is part of a trend cycle similar to the fashion trend cycle now.

The holiday collection that I’m buying is Oden’s Eye. Indie brands rock it, I’ve managed to dodge the mainstream brand releases, they are boring, although tempting, quality of indie brands is just superior.

I don’t think spf30 is pointless. I use the innisfree sunscreen and this summer went kayaking. I only had that spf on my face that i had put on quickly after my moisturizer. My shoulders and arms were fried but my face, nothing.. it’s a great sunscreen and affordable

After the mess of the past few years makeup has seemed so....meh. Now that we are back to business people want products that make them look good. Take the highlighters of yore and toss them into the ocean, we want glow, perfected but natural looking coverage. A cute eye. Makeup shouldn't feel like an hour chore. Makeup should feel like time well spent making yourself feel better.

RN the only makeup I buy is literally lip oils. Affordable ones to be exact. And if I'm being honest I've been shopping from indie brands for a while now. I can't remember the last time I wanted a blush or palette from sephora or ulta! Makeup used to be so huge for me and now it just feels meh. Maybe it's bc I still choose to wear a mask these days but all I ever wear now is brow gel and eyeliner. & I haven't felt the need to go looking for a new holy grail either. I guess makeup isn't my main shopping interest now 🤷

I dislike colorful eye shadows now. I am more into neutrals like pink, creams and browns or duo chrome. Idky but Tarte and Benefit are the most boring looking makeup to me. I never buy any of their makeups. I am tire of UD. Right now I love kvd, fenty, too faced, and huda.

When I saw the prices of Brad Pitts skincare brand I was like... you are at least 5 years late to release this. If we are talking about paying for overpriced quality his brand is IT. They claim their "new formula" is so revolutionary it might help with aging because all ingredients only indicate this property. Duh, why would we use something that actually has been proven to be anti-aging silly? For that price, it better at least cook and clean for me.

I love affordable beauty products, I think that even if brands like Chantecaille have amazing products, I can't justify that price. But Revolution, affordable or not, is just a trash brand. Their entire claim to fame is just duping other products, and not even in a way where they put their own creative spin on a product as most drugstore-price brands do with their high-end dupes. Also, most drugstore brands have products that are just good, not like, good dupes for another product that's a third of the price. Revolution as a brand is just devoid of integrity and while I can appreciate making high-end products more financially accessible, maybe stop aggressively stealing other brands ideas???

Bperfect also has brown-nudes skin-tonned palette, but they sell too fast to ever advertise them. Just a few days ago they released the Muted palette which is all a soft glam all day wear eyeshadows. Love the new rainbow XL though :) PS: Stop wasting money on products you do not need since you are not a MUE or MUA :)

@@vsprsgdby What’s your makeup preferences? My personal favorite brand is adept cosmetics. But they are a very heavy shimmer leaning company because they are verrry good with shimmers so they don’t put many mattes in their palettes. They also make a lot of glossy toppers shades. I mean your eyeballs will literally become their own reflective beams that’s how shiny they are. I’m not even being dramatic when I say that. Adept also personally said “we want to make it clear if there ever came a day they would have to test on animals, they would just stop selling cosmetics all together”. And I love that. Then there’s unearthly cosmetics. They are killing it lately. As well as bellabeautebar. All of these guys are obviously very eyeshadow palette leaning companies tho. So you’d probably have to purchase your base stuff else where. Also clionadh is very well loved by many but more expensive and I personally didn’t love their glitter multi chromes people raves about because it was a dryer formula which is why I prefer adept cosmetics because they have more emollient formulas. So that’s really when preferences are important. They all say they are cruelty free. Unearthly specifically said they are vegan and cruelty free? So you’ll have to look into these places more to know what they all pledge.

@@user-kr911 Lately I’ve been wanting to play around with makeup since I’ve only ever done more natural looks, so I’m not sure what my preference is anymore. 😅 Pretty much my standard right now is cruelty free (vegan a plus, but not necessarily a deal breaker).
