Exactly! 👏🏾 People can diminish that all they want but marriage is first a solid commitment and in our days we don't know what "commitment" mean anymore.
@TheForeverAthlete
@TheForeverAthlete 8 жыл бұрын
+KeoneArt Meaning people are the problem. Not the marriage itself, just like dating its just a title. People make it into something its not. A true marriage, is when you intertwine your spirits into one. Its kind of why people say your my "soulmate". Meaning you are now one being, there is no mine only ours. Treat the other as you would want to be treated after all you literally are one being now when you truly commit to each other. If you aren't connected to each other spiritually and wholeheartedly marriage becomes just a title
@TheForeverAthlete
@TheForeverAthlete 8 жыл бұрын
+KeoneArt A decision to be with someone, and a decision to commit to someone. Are very different, in a decision you can change your mind because you're not quit all in. A commitment, is all in wholeheartedly there is no going back. Thats why they say people don't know what commitment means anymore, no many people still know what it means. To make a "commitment" to something and to be "all in". But also say people forget the old saying treat others as you would want to be treated, as in your friends, family, and spouse. Not just strangers, most or some people treat people that they just met better than own family, friends, and lovers. And they wonder why they get divorced and why some friends leave and family stop talking to them. Treats others as in everyone loved ones and all as you would want to be treated

Not really. Marriage is an institution that is no longer needed, since the advent of the industrial revolution. Thus it's high failure rate and steep decline over the years. See BGS IBMOR'S YT pages.

Most marriages end in divorce because people are selfish and slave to their feelings. Love is a choice, a commitment. It's not just a feeling. There are going to be days when you don't "feel" like you love your spouse, but that's where commitment comes in. You choose to stick it out and press foward. Feelings are fleeting. I'd say your mature enough for marriage when you understand that marriage is not just about you. You are a team, and should always strive for oneness. If both people came into the marriage with a SELFLESS mindset, and put each other's needs first. Divorce would never happen.

+Andrew Bentz But why do you need to get married? That's my question. What changes between the day you weren't married, and they day you weren't? You aren't with the person because they can fit the ring you put on their finger. Why do you need a ceremony and legally binding papers to be with them?
@MrLildru870
@MrLildru870 8 жыл бұрын
+megamixa it is a level of commitment that you can't get out of just chillin, kicking it or bf/gf. I am by no means settling with somebody, because for me there will only be 1 marriage in my life. Divorce is not in my vocabulary. To each their own I suppose. With other relationships it is to easy to say eff it, quit and move on. It is suppose to suck and be hard to get a divorce. Work that shit out. Society is full of too many quitters these days.

Marriage is just a joint business venture. Only a few benefits to getting marriage. Tax breaks, health insurance and life insurance. Also, its not a total fair contract for both parties. Its mainly an investment for ladies.

It used to be that men married women to inherit what was left to them because only men governed money. Women had no rights to what was theirs. Then there were housewives. But nowadays women contribute equally if not more to the household income, so hush all that noise.

+CLUTCH1st VLOGS Coming from someone who's married with two kids, what you said couldn't be further from the truth. The main difference between marriage and just dating is that when you're married you have to work harder at it, because it's for life and you can't just dump em because you're not feeling that person that particular day. If it was easy everybody would do it I suppose. People give up too easily which is why most marriages fail, one or both parties stop caring/trying.

50% not 60%. The girl sounds salty. This is why marriage doesnt work. Because people are selfish and keep looking at it from a materialistic perspective. If you find the right person who is willing to commit to you and you take care of each other. That is what you should be striving for. The first girl is right, when it comes to rights, if you're not married and have been with someone for a very long time, shit can hit the fan quickly if something goes wrong.

Man that pizza analogues is stupid and irrelevant. How are you gonna compare an object with an individual that in most cases is maturing learning and growing on a consistent basis? It's not about just seeing the same person all the time. it's about the experiences you share, that good and that bad. That's the problem with people, they too fair weather. It's all good until a little rain falls and then they wanna give up...

It's not marriage it's the people. Look at the mentality of this age. marriage is a beautiful thing when it's between two people who want to be married and believe in the vows takin before god and till death do them part.
@FredaB123
@FredaB123 8 жыл бұрын
i think the reason so many marriages end in divorce is because the two people don't have God between them and they get married for the wrong reasons. you have to love that person, while that person is at the same time loving you. through happy times, sad times, dry times, wet times, through everything. those two people have to decide to stay together. if you are with someone who you know isn't gonna meet you half way and stay there, or if you are someone who doesn't wanna stay at one table with one person, then you shouldn't get married.

a divorce is just a expensive breakup. i don't see it like 50% percent of marriages fail, i see it much as a general relationship failure. even if they were not married, they would have broken up anyways .

Very interesting topic. I think marriage is what you make of it. So because 60% of marriages end in divorce (which doesn't even get into the specifics of why people divorce) we forget about the other 40%? They touched on the issue of finances and said they weren't down to share funds. Let's say two people in a relationship both make 50K and they have their own places. If things are great between the two, why wouldn't you want one household bringing in 100K?! Granted, that's an ideal situation, but it's realistic for a lot of people. Either way, everything in life is subjective and we all have our views. I can't fault anyone for not wanting to get married. To each, his/her own.

My parents were married and before that they were friends for awhile then they started having problems because of my "dad"(I don't claim him because he doesn't do anything for me or if he does it's basically nothing + he had another child when he doesn't take care of the 3 children he already had). My mom tried to make it work but it wasn't cutting it. So, what I'm basically trying to say is that marriage isn't exactly the problem people are.

Marriage is the ultimate commitment. Yes it is legal, it's a piece of paper, yada yada yada... ...if you're willing to make that kind of legal binding commitment, that's more than just being in a relationship.
@JELIFISH19
@JELIFISH19 8 жыл бұрын
+onealmusicgroup It's not a commitment. You can get divorced. Buying a car or a house is a bigger commitment than marriage. That's why they don't check your credit when you get married but they check it when you buy a car or house. You can't return a car that you bought and falling behind on car or house payments has life-long repercussions. But getting divorced is no big deal.
@onealmusicgroup
@onealmusicgroup 8 жыл бұрын
+JELIFISH19 You respond as though commitments can't be broken. You can also stop payment on the car and there are reprocussions. If said marriage ends with disagreement there are reprocussions that wouldn't not necessarily exist if it were simply a relationship ending. Henceforth, a commitment. C'mon man you need a stronger argument than that. Your argument against shouldn't allow for such an easy rebuttal as to use said argument against you.

People aren't even dating anymore. Just talking to each other wasting time, sleeping together, catching feelings or ending up in unstable & unhealthy "Situationships". Relationships, Marriage & Love has been downplayed in Social Media/Society that people seem to be dating for everything else that's superficial, and then wonder why their relationships/marriage or love is so fuckin dysfunctional. The values in this country are at a all-time super low. You people spend way too much time acting like you've made it than you do ACTUALLY trying to make it PERIOD!

Everything you do in marriage (with the exception of legal shit, & joint shit) you can do together with someone else. WITHOUT being married. You can break up & not have to deal with a quarter of the bullshit people (Divorcing) breaking off a marriage. Fuck being married 😂.
