Exactly! 👏🏾 People can diminish that all they want but marriage is first a solid commitment and in our days we don't know what "commitment" mean anymore.
@TheForeverAthlete8 жыл бұрын
+KeoneArt Meaning people are the problem. Not the marriage itself, just like dating its just a title. People make it into something its not. A true marriage, is when you intertwine your spirits into one. Its kind of why people say your my "soulmate". Meaning you are now one being, there is no mine only ours. Treat the other as you would want to be treated after all you literally are one being now when you truly commit to each other. If you aren't connected to each other spiritually and wholeheartedly marriage becomes just a title
@TheForeverAthlete8 жыл бұрын
+KeoneArt A decision to be with someone, and a decision to commit to someone. Are very different, in a decision you can change your mind because you're not quit all in. A commitment, is all in wholeheartedly there is no going back. Thats why they say people don't know what commitment means anymore, no many people still know what it means. To make a "commitment" to something and to be "all in". But also say people forget the old saying treat others as you would want to be treated, as in your friends, family, and spouse. Not just strangers, most or some people treat people that they just met better than own family, friends, and lovers. And they wonder why they get divorced and why some friends leave and family stop talking to them. Treats others as in everyone loved ones and all as you would want to be treated

Not really. Marriage is an institution that is no longer needed, since the advent of the industrial revolution. Thus it's high failure rate and steep decline over the years. See BGS IBMOR'S YT pages.

Most marriages end in divorce because people are selfish and slave to their feelings. Love is a choice, a commitment. It's not just a feeling. There are going to be days when you don't "feel" like you love your spouse, but that's where commitment comes in. You choose to stick it out and press foward. Feelings are fleeting. I'd say your mature enough for marriage when you understand that marriage is not just about you. You are a team, and should always strive for oneness. If both people came into the marriage with a SELFLESS mindset, and put each other's needs first. Divorce would never happen.

The main difference between marriage and just dating is that when you're married you have to work harder at it, because it's for life and you can't just dump em because you're not feeling that person that particular day. If it was easy everybody would do it I suppose. People give up too easily which is why most marriages fail, one or both parties stop caring/trying.

50% not 60%. The girl sounds salty. This is why marriage doesnt work. Because people are selfish and keep looking at it from a materialistic perspective. If you find the right person who is willing to commit to you and you take care of each other. That is what you should be striving for. The first girl is right, when it comes to rights, if you're not married and have been with someone for a very long time, shit can hit the fan quickly if something goes wrong.

i think the reason so many marriages end in divorce is because the two people don't have God between them and they get married for the wrong reasons. you have to love that person, while that person is at the same time loving you. through happy times, sad times, dry times, wet times, through everything. those two people have to decide to stay together. if you are with someone who you know isn't gonna meet you half way and stay there, or if you are someone who doesn't wanna stay at one table with one person, then you shouldn't get married.

As someone who's engaged, marriage for me is basically the ultimate commitment. I can't imagine my life without my fiance, I just can't. It's two people deciding that they want to be together for their rest of their life. I can understand why it isn't for some people, or maybe the right person have to come along. A lot of people aren't ready for something like that, they are still are selfish and want to do what they want. Make sure to wear condoms or use birth control if you want that life though, because when you have child you can't be selfish anymore. I just can't understand why people can;t get this concept that relationship is work, marriage is work. Maybe someone is against the government getting involved in their personal life, okay fine, just be together in essence.

My mom tried to make it work but it wasn't cutting it. So, what I'm basically trying to say is that marriage isn't exactly the problem people are.

Very interesting topic. I think marriage is what you make of it. So because 60% of marriages end in divorce (which doesn't even get into the specifics of why people divorce) we forget about the other 40%? They touched on the issue of finances and said they weren't down to share funds. Let's say two people in a relationship both make 50K and they have their own places. If things are great between the two, why wouldn't you want one household bringing in 100K?! Granted, that's an ideal situation, but it's realistic for a lot of people. Either way, everything in life is subjective and we all have our views. I can't fault anyone for not wanting to get married. To each, his/her own.

Marriage is the ultimate commitment. Yes it is legal, it's a piece of paper, yada yada yada... ...if you're willing to make that kind of legal binding commitment, that's more than just being in a relationship.
@JELIFISH198 жыл бұрын
+onealmusicgroup It's not a commitment. You can get divorced. Buying a car or a house is a bigger commitment than marriage. That's why they don't check your credit when you get married but they check it when you buy a car or house. You can't return a car that you bought and falling behind on car or house payments has life-long repercussions. But getting divorced is no big deal.
@onealmusicgroup8 жыл бұрын
+JELIFISH19 You respond as though commitments can't be broken. You can also stop payment on the car and there are reprocussions. If said marriage ends with disagreement there are reprocussions that wouldn't not necessarily exist if it were simply a relationship ending. Henceforth, a commitment. C'mon man you need a stronger argument than that. Your argument against shouldn't allow for such an easy rebuttal as to use said argument against you.

People aren't even dating anymore. Just talking to each other wasting time, sleeping together, catching feelings or ending up in unstable & unhealthy "Situationships". Relationships, Marriage & Love has been downplayed in Social Media/Society that people seem to be dating for everything else that's superficial, and then wonder why their relationships/marriage or love is so fuckin dysfunctional. The values in this country are at a all-time super low. You people spend way too much time acting like you've made it than you do ACTUALLY trying to make it PERIOD!

Sorry, Kanisha. You're on your own with this one. Marriage is definitely overrated. The law shouldn't be involved in your relationship unless harm is done.

Everything you do in marriage (with the exception of legal shit, & joint shit) you can do together with someone else. WITHOUT being married. You can break up & not have to deal with a quarter of the bullshit people (Divorcing) breaking off a marriage. Fuck being married 😂.

+Platinum Lewis Especially the financial crap. Why is it that it costs a fortune to have a wedding then if you get a divorce that costs too? SMh Who has time and money for that? Its ridiculous. Then if there are children involved it makes it even more complicated.
@platinumlewis89858 жыл бұрын
Kim Honey For real. If you don't get married and break up, it's (Sort of) simple as shit. When you divorce, it draggs the shit for MONTHS!! lol
