I have the LX2. Definitely made out of counter top material, but that’s what love about it. It sits out all the time on the couch. All my other guitars are hung up in a room. So I’m always playing the LX2. I have a 5 yo and I don’t have to worry about stickers being placed on it or her aggressive. strumming patterns. It’s perfect for what it’s made for. Heavy use/travel. I really like the Martin Retro Extra light strings for this guitar.

Of course, Martin guitars are not known for being inexpensive.. wouldn’t a comparably priced Yamaha be a better crafted/constructed instrument? Asking, not critiquing.
@syx9986Ай бұрын
I was thinking of that too (as I am coincidentally playing my $100 Yamaha.)

I would say so. My first guitar I ever started out on was a Yamaha FS800 that was $200 and I later “upgraded” to a Martin LX guitar that I think at the time was worth $400, and to be completely honest I preferred the Yamaha by a longshot in terms of build, construction, and sound. The Martin LX is still a great guitar though especially for traveling situations and stuff, it sounds decent while also being a really durable guitar that will last you a long time

Absolutely. This guitar does not sound good. If you spend $400 on a Yamaha you have a guitar that sounds pretty decent.

I bought the dreadnought junior street master full solid body , street master, because I wanted a smaller guitar to have around . I don’t pick my other guitars up anymore , the sound of the sapelle solid body and the playability is sweet and well worth the money. The LX sounds more of a toy compared to

Often as not, what I use to get through packaging tape is actually a guitar pick, since that's more likely to be lying around than a knife when the post comes...

Is that considered a "parlor guitar?" I've been thinking about one for awhile. The Martin factory is at the other end of the state, yet I've never been there. I need to put that on my bucket list before I die.

Try the dreadnought juniors. I have sapelle(mahogany) but all solid body and they are so easy to play and sound so good

Sean who loves you? That’s right EVERYBODY

It sounded like a uke at times but I agree that it would be great to have or take anywhere . I also agree that there are also better cheap guitars out there , the name Martin carries a lot of clout
@seandaniel23Ай бұрын
Yeah it's such a great travel guitar.

Whatever happened to the unnamed unaccounted guitar Martin gave you? That is the best among all your acoustics

i need a tiny acoustic to play on my sofa. hey, how'd you set off the alarm??
@scottbettencourt665810 күн бұрын
Not worth it unless u want that specific size. Just get a Yamaha with a solid top, full size, less money

I have the black one

I'm afraid it's not worth the $$. You can get a whole lot more bang for your buck with a Yamaha.
@phillipdavies9128Ай бұрын
Maybe, but it ain't a Martin. Just saying you own a Martin is worth it. If two people are asked . One has a Martin, the other has a Yamaha, who's going to be admired more?.

and the Neatest unboxing you've ever done is done at a Factory? and now that i think about it, whenever i Unbox stuff at stores and factories .. i get Alarms and Cops too
