Agreed, the old build was pure late you could 1vs9 almost every game. Since the begining of the new season, I feel exactly what Cowsep said, Yi is now a Mid game champ either you end it before the 30 min mark or you rely on your team.

Despite the fact that Master Yi has one of the simplest kits in the game, he's not mean't to be played by everyone. Yi is a complex champion that recquires major understanding of what you can and what you can't do, and also recquires superb decision making to be really effective. Being able to dodge stuff and "parry" turret damage after a successful dive is just a fraction of what Yi is capable of, and i hate when people just try to resume this champion with shit like: "oh, here goes the 'one-finger maniac'", "shut up, you play Master Q" or "Must be hard left-clicking the whole game". I mean, i really don't get the line of tought here; if it's so simple to effortlessly carry games with Yi, why don't you pick it and do so? Would you rather play a "more complex" champion with the sole purpose of showing-off mechanics and losing LP? Even better, if you hate so much a champion that can be completely cucked by any kind of non-slow CC, Zhonia's and Guardian Angel (and even knowing this you still loses games by nothing building those or not landing CCs), why don't you simply ban him? The tl;dr here is: Stop "mocking" Yi cause' you're bad. Either pick him or ban him if you can't handle "right clicking", loser.

Even the mechanics you said are not really hard to do once you play 25-50 games on yi, he is a bad champ in high elo because he is simple. The thing you said can be said for any champion in the game. Every champ has certain mechanics that when mastered can bring out the champions full strength

Yes, you could apply what i said for every single champion in the game when i talk about requiring decision making and a major understanding of the game to unleash the champion's true potential. But when you say "Yi is a bad champion in high-elo because he is simple", your argument starts falling apart. Every champion in the game has pros and cons, and every single champion has a purpose. When you pick Yi, you have to know that you are a snowball early-mid game carry and the tools in your kit are very simple (yet effective) for ganking, dueling, applying pressure, crashing down turrets and making global objectives. The bad side of Master Yi in high-elo games is that you are, most of the time, a predictable glasscannon that falls back easily when the game scales into the late game. This is why you want to close games as fast as possible and with as much early aggression as needed on Yi. Also, having a "flashy and elaborate kit" is not a big deal when you see champions like Zoe, Akali and Lucian with an underwhelming win rate of 47~48%. So yeah, every champion in the game gets enhanced by "that factor" between the table and the chair, but that doesn't means that those champions are good cause' they're "not simple".

It just crossed my mind to come here and say something. 1,5-2 years ago i commented on this man's video and said ''i don't know why is this guy recommended to me all the time, i always press the ''i'm not interested'' button whenever he pops up", and cowsep himself responded saying something like ''it wouldn't pop up if you didn't like it, see you tomorrow again as you watch me everyday'' and from that point onwards i never watched another video of him, i realized that if ''not interested'' button wasn't working, ''don't show this channel'' certainly will. the funny thing is that he never responded to any of positive/love comments :D

The Sylas also completely ignored that he had alpha and used everything in a very expectable pattern. But then. doing an auto-reset and alpha dodge with high ping is impressive.

Go tank Yi i play tank yi along with some high damage characters like lilia and ezreal in my team as support poke mages I usually build frostfire gauntlet or sunfire aegis and boots after especially if they have 4 or even five of one type of champ like 5 AD or 5 AP champs or 4 1 it works like a charm I just outheal the enemy using my W and you can also gank botlane by just walking behind the tower blocking them and letting your botlane push into them (Works best when they are medium to Low health) Fun fact with around 200 armor or magic resist you take 0 damage when using meditate and instead HEAL which I find demoralising for the enemy.

Actually you can end game at 13:10 with jax push the inhibitor lux is pushing the mid too so you might get more kill and end

Yi in late is good at 1v1 and late game isn't when 1v1s ussually happen. You can be usefull in lategame but it really depends about game state and teamcompositions.

Yone scales way harder than Yi ever could. They also had a Kog+Lulu and a Sylas, also you basically lost to the Lee Sin kick. No way to win that match when it reaches late game.

Yi is the late game champion if you didn't take all the kills and had Pyke ulti them off so others could have more golds from their assistance. Jax has 15 assists, Lucian has 0/11/14. Moreover, you placed only 9 wards, half of what Lux did.
