My mother is from this region she always told me stories how my grandmother was from Tanzania Bantu people now makes sense how some Bantu tribes were assimilated into Nilotic luo that’s why most luo from this region homabay, migori and all the islands are predominantly farmers that’s was their way of life originating from Congo Tanzania Uganda and little groups from Rwanda and Burundi

You define the true meaning of adventure. Some of this virgin places are a gem but people prefer flocking in places where the path is well beaten.

I appreciate your adventure to Mbeti/Rusinga. My late father was from Siaya County, Gem constituency. So as a term of endearment one could be referred to as Nya (insert the ancestral area). I would be Nya-Gem 😂 I am familiar with the Ghana naming by the days of the week, but Luos also name around events at birth like Akoth/Okoth (born during rainfall), Akomo/Okomo born during planting/prosperity, Okello/Akello born after twins etc. So it's not just naming morning, noon or night 😂 I wish that the Luo community could be allowed to create a strong fishing industry/corporation, with environmental sustainability in mind of course. You will find Luo cousins in your travels to Uganda (e.g. Acholi) as well 👍🏾 Safe travels nwanne m nwoke ✌🏾

@@KNTshows you've been to the West, the coast, now it's time to head to central and northwards but I wouldn't suggest north Eastern for security reasons... Go to turukana and explore our oil fields, go to chelbi desert, visit Mt. Kenya and it's surrounding, go explore the abadare ranges and much more

thats the tactic raila uses to control luos the fact is nyanza is not marginalized in anyway and it has better infrastructure than most places even in central and they like vandalizing like that bridge

@@njorogehumphrey5554 I am not here to argue with foolish Kenyans who have no clue about politics.Don’t use bland games here my friend.Politics is for people who are educated not fools.Kenyans have no clue about politics they play tribalism and think they know politics.Tribalism is for the small minded people.Stay small minded !!

@@njorogehumphrey5554😂😂tactics he has used to control or to bargain? Imagine in the same sentence you put ‘control’ and ‘more than’ central. It is ironic despite the fact that Central has produced three presidents. Luos are smart and not kondoos like Kikuyus. Baba has helped them to grab a piece of meat in every regime, while Kikuyus are controlled by the elites, while the majority are so poor.

That is a narrative by your politicians which you swallow hook line and sinker. The infrastructure and general well being of Luo Nyanza is more or less other parts of Kenya.
