Everyone including atheist can get salvation if their actions R good... The TV Series "The Good Place" follows a similar kind of philosophy I hope u will follow ur duty or "Dharma" of being a human.. And will always take side of peace... #OmShanti

Peter-john De Jong Hindoeïsme is inderdaad fascinerend.

My understanding is that everything that lives, lives because of the presence of the spirit soul. This also goes for plants and trees. All ending of a life is considered sinful and creates karma. Bhagavd Gita 9:26 states; "If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit a water, I will accept it." BG 3:13 states: "The spiritually-minded, who eat food that is first offered in sacrifice, are released from all kinds of sin. Others, who cook food for their own enjoyment, verily eat only sin." From which follows: Food should be vegetarian and prepared and offered with love and devotion for Krishna, and He'll accept it. What's left after offering is prasadam, spiritual food. Although it looks the same it has no karma attached. Hare Krishna!

@Stc Replace word brahmin as Saivatees. It was Saivatees,Sakthas who did that. I never told anywhere Saivam or Saktham has a vedic root. They were non-vedic cult and got themself converted into vedic only during 10th century CE.
@tamilonlinejobs763 жыл бұрын
@Stc Vaishnavas never did Animal killing. read veda vyakaanama and bhaashyams of Vaishnva Acharyas to know the real meaning of those stanzas. Till now no Vaishnava Acharyas (starting from 8000 BCE to till current date has supported or done or justified animal sacrifices). Dont confuse shaivam with vaishnavam. Shaivam was a non-vedic cult. You are talking about Shaivam ans Saktham. Yes they are barbaric cult. They dont come under Vedic.
@tamilonlinejobs763 жыл бұрын
@Stc Nope. Your claims regarding Vaishnavam are false. Have you read Vishnu purana ? Have you read original Valmiki Ramayana ? Only Valmiki Ramayana is authorised. In Original epic there is no such claims.

@Siva chetty quite funny I am a subscriber of your channel......but you need to understand one thing in a very friendly manner sir What Devdutt Pattanaik is doing is nothing but corrupting our Holy Texts which is quite damaging in its own...any one can make a bad meaning out of it by quoting from the best selling author of Hinduism.. which is not promoting Hinduism but it is these quotes from the corrupted best seller which are giving Muslims, Christians and atheists to speak against our sanatan dharam.. just see My Gita.....u would be shocked and be saddened to see difference in meanings in the original and his my gita and the worst thing is that he does not say it's a fiction book...he is just a person who got teachings from the western scholars... This is where our sanatan dharam is falling why are we buying My Gita when we can buy the original from the same site and supporting them...this is where the Abrahamic religions are shining you won't find MY BIBLE there When a person even he is of our own religion and is our brother... writing books and selling million copies on our religion and is utterly changing the meaning in a destructive way which is being taken by non believers....then that man deserve nothing but criticism. And We don't need to fight Christian and Muslim they can get the answer by reading our original scriptures but we need to fight those who are changing our holy scriptures meaning and making Non believers and even believers read his books instead of original eg.(My Gita instead of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita) And By the way Even Christians and Muslims are our brothers too because they are also bound by Karma and all Humans comes under reality...thanks for reading. I think I said a lot. Jai shree Ram! Jai shree Krishna!

Namaste. Thanks for the amazing video. However there is correction that we need to make. Ahimsa doesn’t mean non-violence. It means minimum violence. You have also mentioned it few times. When we take Ahimsa as minimum violence, it makes more sense in Santana Dharma. Firstly, as one becomes more conscious, he or she tends to become more aware of life. Hence conscious beings moves towards vegetarianism or becomes vegan. Why plants are considered less life than animals? Let’s you look at the energy transfer chain: plants receive energy from Sun and covert it to matter. The matter is eaten by herbivores which are eaten by omnivores or carnivores. So for a conscious being, what is the minimum violence that he can do? Of course the answer is to eat plants so that the energy waste during the transfer of energy is minimum. As one becomes more conscious, he eats the minimum to stay alive. So he minimizes harm caused to the earth and plants. Being Hindu is journey and not a set of moral values that needs to be followed.

Animals can feel pain but plants don't have nervous system. Our body has herbivores digestive system. We distrmurb the meat chemically to make it eatable otherwise humans can't digest raw meat. Eating plants isn't violence in anyways. Its not like plant always dies. We eat it's one part. Even if it dies how does it matter if it does not feel pain, doesn't have family or any sort of emotions. However animal have right to live... They have emotions, family. They feel pain like us. Why to kill if we have enough alternatives to eat. There is huge variety of vegetarian foods, they are just awesome. Why can't we go for that. Eating meat is not even good... For health is proved scientifically. Humans are pseudo meat eaters... They aren't allowed by nature.... They are experimentally fitting meat in eatable form. They are slaughtering animals on large scale. Disturbing ecological system of earth. Let's go vegan. Let's say no to meat.

A 2013 study by the U. N. Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) estimated that total annual emission from animal agriculture (production emission plus land usage change) were about 14.5 percent of all human emissions, of which beef contributed 41 percent. A diet heavy in meat increases the risk of obesity, Cancer and heart diseases. But it also makes the planet sick. By replacing meat with vegetarian sources of protein, we can reduce Carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions. The whole food production process of farm-to-plate totals 30% of all global greenhouse gas emissions. Many studies have shown that vegetarians are less likely to get certain disease and type 2 diabetes. So, the idea of vegetarianism shall not be seen as just for religious purpose (although some religions promote it), it shall be for the benefit of our own planet. You nice, keep going. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

The points made here are good, but they mostly apply to factory farming. I agree that eating animals who are kept in appalling conditions and tortured is indeed a grievous sin. However having a cow on your farm that is allowed to run around and be a cow eating grass, then killing it humanely without any pain or awareness that it is going to die, that I don’t see as a sin. Ever since the dawn of animal domestication, the relationship between humans and livestock has been largely symbiotic. Domesticated animals are protected by humans from predators and are given as much food as they could ever ask for. In return they provided humans with meat and milk. Agriculture is a two-way street. Factory farming on the other hand violates this contract and symbiosis because it turns the farmer from protector to tormentor.

I would just like to add that dairy has always been a part of dharmic life, Krishna was famous for loving dairy a bit too much. Indians rear cows at home and the milk from them is not extracted in a cruel manner with calves going hungry. Traditional method involves one calf at a teat, while other teat is used to collect. Cows and calves are raised as family and worshipped. Har har mahadev

The way milk is extracted from cows in india is completely different to west. WE had cows in my village as well and we would never separate the mother from its calf or impregnate it artifically. The cows produce more milk than the calf needs to consume. WE can only take the excess milk and not the one which is meant for the calf

I went from vegetarian to keto diet, because of what my body demanded to stay mentally & physical healthy. I could call myself carnivore hindu. You can't live on plants alone in 65° North as we have winter & more demand for faty food that no plants can give. Respecting farm animals & quickly slaughter animals give high quality of meat & offals. I come from a culture where we eat from snout to tail & the bone is used too.

Hinduism is not a religion it is a lifestyle I hope the benefits of this lifestyle transcends to the world Also there are many modern people claiming to be hindu and carrying out bad practices i totally condemn their idea and they are not following this culture rather they have made some cult out of few mixed ideas and conclusions I see few giving negative comments about hinduism ,maybe they have not understood the true form of hinduism and might have encountered the cults But please try to understand the thing before passing any judgements be it anything.

Dharmic Religion's Mostly Animal Lover's😊🙏
@jeanesmiol96564 жыл бұрын
Back a little while when I was more devoted to spiritual practice I was able to walk up to other creatures without scaring them off, I would just observe the animals and have this feeling that deep within me and the animal there was no difference between us. I would have massive empathy for them and burst into a deep level of humility and joy(with my eyes sometimes turning into a waterfall tears). Another thing I noticed was that during this time whenever I was eating meet I'd feel a deep level of guilt.

I'm a born Hindu and I'm very annoyed at the mostly westerners and increasingly more indians who try to hijack the sanatan dharm and tell that veganism was "written in the scriptures" and other nonsense to promote their fanaticism. The typical vegan is generally arrogant, self righteous, and just plain rude in my experience. They try and tell us the "rules" of our own beliefs. Always we have taken milk and curd and other milk byproducts and have revered gomata for helping us to sustain life. We are not depriving baby cows of a meal as the pushy vegans say nor do you need to injure a cow to take milk. They also try to hijack Buddhism in this same way by boldly telling that Buddha himself promoted veganism. This is so far from truth and is quite laughable, actually. Buddha and his disciples were known to take meat on occasion. Veganism will tell that unless you are a vegan you are not following law of ahimsa which is quite hilarious. They would have you believe that veganism existed those couple thousands of years ago, another laugh. I am a strict vegetarian myself and don't (necessarily) promote taking meat. Each person must work out their own salvation and make their OWN choices in life that will affect their being. I am firmly against the nearly fascist methods and attitudes that many vegans have taken to-to promote/inflict their beliefs on others. I will end this by asking: How can you know if someone's a 'vegan'? Answer: Don't worry, they'll tell you.

SuryaDas I could not have said it better myself! Veganism is a more of a western thing and it may as well be a cult or new religion in itself; the concept of ahimsa is to value all life equally but it seems militant vegans value animal lives over humans. I also have to declare: if you're an athlete or have high physical activity, veganism is highly impractical; I tried it for about a month or two and lost a lot of muscle mass and performed poorly. I am trying to go lacto-vegetarian but I live in a Christian household, whose god said that you can eat whatever you want; thus, it is hard for me. Either way, stay away from veganism and their "holier than thou" followers who think they are saving earth; they truly are a funny bunch of extremists 😂😂😂

@@kiryu2000 Yes, thank you, friend. Your words are true, too in fact studies have proven that people who take meat in their diet are definitely overall healthier than the people on vegan diet. Athletes and sports players def needed a good source of protein. Sure you can get protein from some vegetables, lugumes, atc but if you want to add serious muscle mass meat and fish are the (only) way to go. Even Dalai Lana was diagnosed with condition that his doctor told he needed to take meat to alleviate symptoms.

SuryaDas I think I would not mind being a lacto-vegetarian (but I would only want milk and milk products from desi cows; the dairy industry in America is why veganism is so militant today), I just feel it is hard to account for potential deficiencies in creatine, iron, vitamin B12, and calcium without exclusively taking supplements.

When I was child some time I had to eat meat, but I always like vegetables and legumes over meat. I used to pray to God to protect me from eating meat as I used to get a very yekeeee feeling when ever I had to eat meat. God listen to my prayers and turned my entire family into vegetarian. Not only that my husband who used to love meat also turned into vegetarian all by his own will when he came to know that I am vegetarian . 😀🙏

I'm partice Hellenisom which similar to Hinduism were are also orthparxic and we do have teaching about how eating meat is wrong or even "sinful" but it's not essential and I myself eat meat with the exception of pork which is traditionally forbidden in my sect. Animal's are said to have souls just as we do they even have the possibility to reincarnate into humans. This was a great video.

Manusmriti does not advocate meat eating or animal sacrifice but it prohibit it It condemns anyone who does so and orders them to be punished. The manusmriti and other scriptures you mentioned that advocstes animal cruelty are distorted versions or falsly translated versions There is en elaborate methodology in hibdu dharm to find out what has been distorted or added in a scripture

Hinduism say that 'What you eat, What you become' i.e., "Jaisa ann vaisa Mann" and hence, classify Food in three parts :- a. Satvik Food - Complete Pure food, excluding onion and garlic. This food make mind and soul pure and keep all at peace. b. Rajsik Food - Contain onion and garlic. More spicy and excess sweet. Make mind and soul active. Aggresiveness is also a part of this category. Tamsik Food :- Contain meat and oily foods. Make mind and soul angry, arrogant and ignorance.
