I am a Niftian as well. I liked your MFM information part. And for the campus ranking, I would say NIFT is NIFT only. There are no Lower or top-level campuses. It's up to the students and their work which helps them in placements, not the campus. It's your portfolio that helps to get a better placement. In a few cases, Campus-LEVEL can help you get exposure, but maintaining it will be up to YOUR WORK.

Hi, firstly thanks a lot for the info in the video. I was just wondering if you could elaborate a little on the gd/pi round in the entrance exam. Like is it just a general discussion on a random topic, or we have to present portfolios and stuff?

All those who gets shortlisted for GD/PI round are required to go through with the GD process first in which a panel discussion happens amongst 10-12 students. A topic is given which most probably is related to fashion industry and then each and every student is expected to share their views regarding that topic. In the PI process, general questions are asked by the candidate. For ex, why do you want to pursue the course. Basically, they see how much keen you are for pursuing this course. For a detailed explanation, I will release a video very soon. Stay tuned.

Projects or assignments are one of the most important aspect of the NIFT curriculum. You will be judged on the basis of your performance in different projects/ assignments that you will be getting during your tenure. What kind of projects are given totally depends upon which course you are doing from NIFT. If you are doing a Fashion Design course, you'll get projects related to that.

Yes definitely this course will be suitable for someone who is working in the Banking sector. But keep in mind that the package after doing this programme would not be hefty, hence it is better to compare how much you are earning right now in the banking sector and how much you will be earning after doing this course because your field will get changed. This is not applicable if you are more concerned of changing the field and not much concerned of the money factor.

So, no doubt the Covid situation has impacted the fashion industry to a great extent and a lot of people have lost their jobs but if we think from your perspective, suppose you take admission in the coming year and after 2 years from then you would be completing your course. And people are hoping and predicting that everything would get normal by then. Still, it is very uncertain to predict right now but you shouldn't stop yourself from taking admission cos of this reason as you don't know whether the covid situation will exist after 2 years or not.

Yes, it is absolutely possible to work in fashion companies after MBA but only if you have access to that type of network and you have contacts of fashion industry. See, specifically for Buying & Merchandising profile, companies prefer taking NIFT MFM students as it requires garment knowledge as well, which an MBA student ofcourse lacks. But MBA students can definitely enter the industry through their own network and rigorous efforts.

There is no particular ranking for these top 3 campuses, but if you have to decide which one to opt during your counseling process, I would suggest you to connect with the alumni from all 3 campuses and ask their perspective about their own campus and then analyse yourself which one would be the best for you. Yes, it will definitely hold value but only in some countries. What I mean to say is, directly after passing out from the campus, you may try entering into companies situated in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Ethopia. But, once you have some years of work ex in India in a good international brand suppose, that company might help you in giving opportunities for going outside India. For ex, suppose you are working with UCB brand, it's Headquarters is in Italy, so there only if you perform exceptionally well, then you might get an opportunity of working and settling down in Italy after some years of work ex. So we do get a chance to move outside but then you will have to work really hard, be in the top notch category and have a good network with people.

I am not very sure about what is taught in MBA in Fashion but I am sure that it must be a little bit similar to MFM program. The main thing to note here is that the opportunities that you will be getting after MFM will be much more than MBA in Fashion from a tier 2 or tier 3 college as industry people are more aware about the MFM program from NIFT and sometimes prefer taking them instead of other colleges.

That doesn't matter at all, take any stream whichever you want to study, choose as per whatever is your interest area. NIFT has no bar in terms of the stream that you do in your 11th & 12th standard for the Designing program.

No, it generally doesn't happen. But it doesn't mean that you can't get into non fashion companies. You can get into them through your own contacts and backup. But unfortunately NIFT won't be able to provide you that as only fashion companies comes during the campus placement.

Yes, ofcourse he can do the course. But as far as I know, very few people get into front end after completing this course. As front end jobs like Fashion consultant sometimes hires people from other background as well. So, if you only want to become FC then I think there are other simple ways as well to get there instead of investing your time in a 2 years full time Master's degree. Because the eligibility for FC job profile is only bachelor's, you necessarily don't need to be a Master's student.

As per my experience, companies gives a very less importance to the undergrad degree. It doesn't matter much whether you are from fashion background or not. In placements, companies are more concerned about the CGPA acquired in MFM, communication skills, knowledge gained during the course and what learnings were acquired during the internships

BMS (Bachelor's in Management Studies) and BBA (Bachelor's in Business Administration) are the two best courses if you want to study Management at Undergraduate level.

It depends, it totally depends on yourself. Most people don't join any coaching centre for the written exam as the exam is not that difficult and students end up in preparing on their own. But, if you want to crack NIFT Delhi, you will really have to work hard and be in the top 20. Coaching or no coaching, hard work will have no substitute.

No, with Btech Degree itself you can apply for this programme as the eligibility criteria for pursuing this programme (MFM) is you only have to have a Bachelor’s degree in any field.

Yes ofcourse, you can definitely sit in the 2nd round of counselling by just paying a registeration fees of 5K. Infact, to increase your chances of getting a better campus, you should participate in the 2nd round of counselling.
