You might try looking at your immoral thinking. I know you wont engage, but --- On Jesus dying for Christians, from a moral perspective. It takes quite an imagination and ego to think a god would actually die for us, after condemning us unjustly in the first place. Hello am Kendi from Kenya,Africa.I had been trapped in the whole online preachings from pastors like Mike Todd and Joel..I had started to feel ,c9nsidering am african,just because i dont have money then am not praying hard enough,or my faith is not strong or there is sth am not doing.But I got out of that when i listened to Paul Washers sermon and Voddie Baucham.Still,.I am at a point where i feel like giving up because it seems like everything am doing to make life better for my parents back here is not working.I am struggling so much and am exhausted.I got a degree last year and there are n9 jobs in Kenya,my mom and dad total day's income is like 4 dollars total.I dont want to give up,God has given me a chance to be alive and that means,If i keep trying,one day,one day I will help my parents .God is not finished with me. And here I am asking strangers on the internet to pray for me..for things to get better.Thank you.

I am 3 years post-tithe bondage. Nearly 13 years of the jewish way giving with 3 tithes plus matching offering to the tithe. It was nearly 30% of the net income. What a freedom to learn the truth of cheerful, free giving! And that I am not under the covenant that tithing was required.

How hard it is to follow the Lord. He tells us to give everything up for Him, for the Kingdom, which is as a treasure in a field that a person would sell all he has, just to obtain. If the Kingdom of God is not worth giving up everything, not worth being unattached to all worldly things, then the Kingdom of God is not for that person… It’s important to remember that our reward is not in this world. Our treasures are stored in a place where they won’t perish or be corrupted or stolen.

By GOD's mercy alone, I have been part of a biblically sound Baptist church a few years now. There has never been a single sermon on tithing or anything to do with wealth, gain or money! The church operates by a constitution which mandates AGMs, where finance is reviewed openly. Budgets are agreed on by the whole Body and where there is a shortfall, it is the Body who decides to give, cheerfully and according to the leading of The Spirit. And The church continues to thrive. To GOD be the glory!

I am a pastor and like you, I totally agree that we are not under the old covenant and should feel no obligation to tithe. The biblical model is clearly to give according to what we have decided in our hearts. I also vehemently reject the prosperity Gospel and word faith movement. I was thinking about this the other day. Some people are only willing to give because they think "God will just give me more"... but at that point, doesn't that become transactional? I thought we are to give and have faith that even if this is my last dollar, God has placed me in this position to give because He is using me to answer their prayers, and will return that to me. I don't know if that makes sense, but I what I am trying to say is just blind faith in every decision we make. Not just for more of the luxuries we have on earth.

I have to say I partly agree with you both. I do believe God blesses those who give, but not because they expect it or not for them to store it up for their own riches. I believe He gives to those who know how to give or how to use what they've been given to bless others. How does a pastor pay his tithe? He takes it out of his back pocket and puts it in his front pocket. Tithe people love to cherry pick the old testament, there are 2 other tithes but you will rarely if ever hear about them. One is in deutoronomy 14, and it was for the festival's and was for you and a levite and a sojourner to eat and celebrate to God. The other was every 3 years for the poor. Robert morris says Jesus was Gods tithe to us meaning Jesus is 10% of something. Morris is a money man, need to increase the giving in your church ? Get ol robert he will have you raking it in. You should of course give to your church. Paul makes it clear the pastor or elder should be paid, the lights have to be paid for, i don't know about the megachurch and their multi million dollar churches. Seem to me that guys like morris who is supposedly worth 50 million , could they not live well on 5 million? They seem to never get enough, i think thats why some never seem to retire, private planes are very expensive.

This is destructive theology. That's giving believers a,"false hope"that you'll get a return on tithing. I went to a church where the pastor and his wife would badger people at offering with multiple offerings until the goal they set has been satisfied. Talk about pressure. I literally put my whole check in an offering. I was believing for a financial miracle. I was very gullible in my early 20s (1990s).💛💛💛 We must pray that He'll know The Truth through The Holy Spirit.

Tithing is not just an old covenant thing. All those claims to be a Christian must and should return 10% of their income and an offering . The Bible says 2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: this means old and New Testament. Malachi 3:10 is still binding. Matthew 23:23 Malachi 3:7-8 Leviticus 27:30-32 Tithes are supposed to be used for the support of the gospel ministry numbers 18:21 1 Corinthians 9:13-14 Tithes was paid in the New Testament Matthew 23:23 Luke 11:42 Luke 18:12 It is a sin not to return tithes. Just pray and ask GOD for the Holy Spirit leading on this subject. SN… this is not in defense of this Todd guy.
