I don't think it was ever confirmed that Ghidorah was "killed" in his battle with Mothra and Godzilla in Antarctica, just beaten and trapped. And I'm inclined to believe that reaction to hit from the Argo was more of surprise/irritation just like Godzilla's roaring and flailing around when he's been hit with conventional weapons in 2014 and GvK.

I agree. The conventional weapons don’t actually do anything that matters to most titans they just annoy them. On top of that I’ve always assumed that because the calling device from kotm was using a call based on Godzillas call but applied with human acoustics which are the two things Ghidorah would hate the most and that’s why he was constantly trying to shut it up. That and it’s loud and obnoxious.

King Ghidorah wasn't even really harmed by the missiles from the Argo in Antartica since he just awakened from his ice tomb so the unexpected bombardment from a newfound attack from his perspective(s) most likely surprised and possibly annoyed him at the most. Besides that, upon his awakening prior the continuous gunshots that were fired from the G-Team soldiers caught Kevin's curiosity and he was inspecting and scanning their new methods of attack since during the ancient days most humans would usually toss spears and/or shoot arrows at him within range. So in short, the MonsterVerse iteration of King Ghidorah is still unfazed from military weapons just like all of the kaiju. So if the Oxygen Destroyer itself couldn't leave a scratch on him then what exactly could missiles do to him other than to distract him?

My theory is that the Oxygen Destroyer didn’t work on Ghidorah because he doesn’t breathe oxygen. The atmosphere on Earth is mostly nitrogen, so it would make sense for a nitrogen-breathing creature to thrive here.

Ghidorah wasn’t actually injured by the weapons, not to mention that in KOTM, the weapons were upgraded to affect Titans. The nuclear pulses by Godzilla also weren’t normal pulses, that was in his burning form.

I don't think Ghidorah was hurt by the Argo. It is more like him just waking up from thousands of years of slumber and being bombarded by these annoying missiles. Probably more annoying to him than hurtful. Legendary Ghidorah is so evil and i love it.

There was a fan fiction online novel released 20 years ago or so that I thought was the perfect breakdown of Ghidorah, how he was created, and showcased just how awesomely terrifying he was. In it he was a biological weapon that was powered by the sun, had the same type of healing abilities as legendaries Ghidorah, and was programmed to seek out and destroy all forms of energy which is how his creators conquered planets. In the end he turned on them so they captured him in a perfect sphere that kept him dormant and left him adrift in space. He wiped out tens of millions of people and flattened entire cities in the story before Godzilla finally cornered him in a fight and won by draining ghidorah's energy the same way he absorbs nuclear power and then finishing him off when he was too weak to fight. Not the most exciting story, but I thought it did a great job in explaining him in a way that made sense and convinced you he really was a living apocalypse.

Just a warning, it's a slow burn story but if you're a fan of seeing these monsters portrayed as terrifying, world ending calamities, this is definitely one for you.. There's a pretty cool subplot about the world progressing to the point where they're mining asteroids which is how they unleash him in the first place. I thought that was really well fleshed out.

It was basically made without a brain and no need for food, just existing on solar power and genetically programmed to seek out and destroy any form of energy, which would make it basically destroy civilizations until a world was dead and its masters could take over. When they could no longer control it they trapped it in an enormous sphere that prevented any energy from reaching it and launched it into space. There it floated for tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of years until the humans accidentally woke it up near Earth.

As of now; Ghidorah is the deadliest monster in the monsterverse just in terms of danger he posed to the planet. His initial appearance out of the ice spelled the evil and alien essence he possessed. You can instantly tell this isn’t like any earth titan that has come before. And unlike the showa and heisei Ghidorah, monsterverse Ghidorah did things of his OWN will. Ghidorah did literally nothing to Godzilla the entire film until he dropped him and relied on physics to do it for because he was too weak to damage Godzilla himself. He lost every single fight they had. Godzilla pulled his limbs off. There's no human on Earth you can do that to or can do that to you because the difference in strength required is asinine. You can't even do that to an infant. Meaning the strength difference between Godzilla and Ghidorah is greater than a grown man and an infant, let that sink in. Monsterverse ghidorah is bottom tier garbage. Ghidorah did nothing to Godzilla in Antarctica then got scared by missiles (which is pathetic for a kaiju btw) and then retreated. Retreating is never a victory, especially after doing nothing besides harmlessly pushing Godzilla over. There are many people that can't fathom how ghidorah lost this so I'll explain a bit more. *If one party retreats, the other objectively wins* •If this was a UFC fight, ghidorah dealt no damage then jumped out of the ring, and lost not only the round, but the entire match. •If this was a battle at war (a much closer analogy) and you retreat, you lost the battle, there are countless examples of this. •If a bully attacks you at school and you manage to push him over and run away, you didn't win...you just escaped. The second fight truly shows us how inferior ghidorah is to Godzilla, when they have Godzilla pull ghidorah apart like a dandelion. Imagine pulling another person's head off. You can't, no matter what you do.... it's impossible. This is like a large bear vs a man.... That's how large the strength gap is. Also saying that the fight being underwater made it unfair is a pitiful excuse. Being in water didn't make Godzilla stronger nor did it make Ghidorah less durable, being in water doesn't somehow make ghidorah easier to pull apart. If they fought mid air, ghidorah still wouldn't be strong enough to rip Godzillas head off. The arena has no impact on how strong you are. The 3rd fight Godzilla is curbstomping ghidorah as usual until ghidorah gets enough plot armour to *somehow* choke godzilla out with the same head that he casually plucked off in the last fight with half the leverage he has now. Realistically, all Godzilla would have to do there was push against his body to tear through considering he already did that but now he's stronger from the nuke and in more of an optimal scenario to do so.... *But the plot wouldn't let him* That was inconvenient for the movie, we wouldn't have gotten our burning Godzilla fan service. Contrivances aside... A nameless extra has a better chance of beating John Wick than ghidorah had beating Godzilla based on what was shown. *John would have to be both completely bullet proof and strong enough to pull the other guy to pieces, just to make it a 1-1 analogy*

Godzilla can rip apart Ghidorah readily when he wants to but if that really happened how would they make profit out of the movie? What are they gonna show? Godzilla is more durable, which I don't need to explain , has FAR more stamina and feats and experience and its almost a negative difficulty win for Godzilla. So people who say that Ghidorah beats Godzilla in a 1v1 because "Godzilla was amped or he needed Mothra or Ghidorah beat him in Antarctica" , they shall know that the monsterverse Godzilla is , in 2019 , the strongest titan ever witnessed, hes the king for a reason God dammit. Why is he called the king of the monsters? Muto Prime , the titan DESIGNED BY NATURE ITSELF to beat Godzilla , failed. And godzilla could defeat him by himself as he has much more feats. The Legendary variant of King Ghidorah is my all-time favorite Titan of all time. His powers are so powerful to both Titans and humans alike, he is an Alpha Titan, and his passive abilities (regeneration and psionic link) are able to retain and feed the monster’s seemingly endless heads with seemingly endless knowledge in regards to everything. Lol that's hilarious. Others generally *reshape the world map* with their casual go-abouts. They do things like wipe out planets, create magma fissures by stomping, overpower monsters that can split straight through the Earth's crust, swing around 20km long necks as they burst through black holes, or tank beams that completely vaporize other kaiju. These are all different versions btw. Meanwhile, MV Ghidorah…gets scared into fleeing by missiles (you know, the things kaiju are supposed to be immune to), gets literally pulled to pieces like a dandelion, and couldn't even harm a mid-tier (low-tier at the time, he was upgraded later but I'm being generous) Godzilla in 3 fights without relying on physics to do it for him *because his natural abilities were just too weak to do anything meaningful.* This is clearly on the lower end of the Ghidorah spectrum.

So far, King Ghidorah is the first and only alien Titan to have appeared in the MV, he wasn’t 100% powerful all the time, he did had some weaknesses and did technically lose against Godzilla in all three battles during KOTM, but he still succeeded to being the arch rival nemesis of Godzilla, he did put up a good fight with the king of monsters himself, as well as causing a lot of destruction by controlling storms, shooting lightning and using his alpha roar to influence and control the other titans for his bidding. He was honestly pretty well handled when it comes to his abilities, strength and onscreen presence, if only he had more screen time, wasn’t always shrouded in darkness and rain, wasn’t constantly being owned by Godzilla throughout the film and actually caused most of the destruction himself without using other titans, he would’ve truly felt like a formidable and powerful Kaiju that was near unstoppable like his Toho counterpart.

That was the only domain where Ghidorah got his ass kicked. Everywhere else, he kicked Godzilla's butt, made him bleed with his gravity beams, dropped him From the stratosphere, could drain his power, cause cat 6 hurricanes, terraform and destroy earth, it took him 10 seconds to kill Mothra in his supercharged state and he beat rodan fairly easily. He's not exactly weak or nerfed, that honor goes to Kong and Mechagodzilla. Ghidorah is easily the strongest Monsterverse Titan.

If only I know 3D creations and preferred hardware and equipment, I would have remake the Godzilla:KOTM as my version of KOTM and made the 3 headed Dragon aka King Ghidorah even more intelligent and way more powerful than the Godzilla and unleashed his full strength also improved the durability even to withstand the Godzilla's Nuclear pulse and made the Godzilla to choose death or be friends with the King Ghidorah. Also made 3 heads to be more intelligent than this movie silly activity. Idk man. I really wanna see the King Ghidorah and Destroyah has their own Fantasy series.

I find it mildly amusing how people try to find out what his motive is, both in the films and in real life. "Does he xenoform (thank you TV Tropes for inventing that word) planets just to make them more suitable for him?" "Does he just hate every living thing that isn't him?" "Was he a younger son, an outcast even, who wandered the universe trying to carve out an inheritance of his own?" I won't deny it's fun to theorize and see other people's takes on him, hot or not. But to me personally, it's a classic case of projecting our human nature onto something that's not human. In the end, trying to morally explain King Ghidorah is like trying to morally explain a black hole. He's a pitiless force of nature, indifferent to the devastation he inflicts, and destroys everything that comes into close contact with him. Sure he seems to have sadistic tendencies, but even that could be interpreted as him simply feeding off of the suffering of his victims, in the same way black holes feed on even light. I'm in the middle of a Godzilla/Transformers crossover RP with a friend of mine. Toward the end, one of my characters asks Ghidorah why he does what he does (she can sorta read minds). And he just says (telepathically), "You assume we need a reason. You cannot find one, and that terrifies you..."

Actually missiles really don't hurt Ghidorah as he was more likely was surprised and also irritated and he was literally hit by an Oxygen Destoryer which did not leave a single scratch. So I actually think that monsterVerse Ghidorah and Showa Ghidorah are both winners but if I think about it if we add Void Ghidorah all the other ones stand no chance against Void Ghidorah as he is the most overpowered Ghidorah Known to us all fans. And amongst all other Titans like Godzilla, Kong, Rodan, Mothra etc MechaGodzilla or MechaKevin as I like to say it is my second favorite Evil Titan while King Ghidorah Being my Favorite Titan of all time. and also of course Godzilla being my favorite Titan as well.

Ghidorah did literally nothing to Godzilla the entire film until he dropped him and relied on physics to do it for because he was too weak to damage Godzilla himself. He lost every single fight they had. Godzilla pulled his limbs off. There's no human on Earth you can do that to or can do that to you because the difference in strength required is asinine. You can't even do that to an infant. Meaning the strength difference between Godzilla and Ghidorah is greater than a grown man and an infant, let that sink in. Monsterverse ghidorah is bottom tier garbage. Ghidorah did nothing to Godzilla in Antarctica then got scared by missiles (which is pathetic for a kaiju btw) and then retreated. Retreating is never a victory, especially after doing nothing besides harmlessly pushing Godzilla over. There are many people that can't fathom how ghidorah lost this so I'll explain a bit more. *If one party retreats, the other objectively wins* •If this was a UFC fight, ghidorah dealt no damage then jumped out of the ring, and lost not only the round, but the entire match. •If this was a battle at war (a much closer analogy) and you retreat, you lost the battle, there are countless examples of this. •If a bully attacks you at school and you manage to push him over and run away, you didn't win...you just escaped. The second fight truly shows us how inferior ghidorah is to Godzilla, when they have Godzilla pull ghidorah apart like a dandelion. Imagine pulling another person's head off. You can't, no matter what you do.... it's impossible. This is like a large bear vs a man.... That's how large the strength gap is. Also saying that the fight being underwater made it unfair is a pitiful excuse. Being in water didn't make Godzilla stronger nor did it make Ghidorah less durable, being in water doesn't somehow make ghidorah easier to pull apart. If they fought mid air, ghidorah still wouldn't be strong enough to rip Godzillas head off. The arena has no impact on how strong you are. The 3rd fight Godzilla is curbstomping ghidorah as usual until ghidorah gets enough plot armour to *somehow* choke godzilla out with the same head that he casually plucked off in the last fight with half the leverage he has now. Realistically, all Godzilla would have to do there was push against his body to tear through considering he already did that but now he's stronger from the nuke and in more of an optimal scenario to do so.... *But the plot wouldn't let him* That was inconvenient for the movie, we wouldn't have gotten our burning Godzilla fan service. Contrivances aside... A nameless extra has a better chance of beating John Wick than ghidorah had beating Godzilla based on what was shown. *John would have to be both completely bullet proof and strong enough to pull the other guy to pieces, just to make it a 1-1 analogy*

The missiles can destroy planets in less than a minute, while showa ghidorah takes one day to destroy a planet, that's inconsistency. Zone fighter scales above ghidorah so it doesn't count if you say 'Ghidorah can fight Zone Fighter'. Zone fighter beat Ghidorah with no difficulty whatsoever.

I have watched King of the Monsters probably more times that the creator himself ( idk if that's true, but trust me, I have watched it many times. And I disagree with the Argo missiles. If that was the case, in the first legendary Godzilla movie, Godzilla would have been critically wounded by all the missiles and weaponry that was discharged at him when he was trying to stop the male Muto. Ghidorah was not wounded, but got irritated. Nobody likes getting shoot because it hurts, so I think that's what happened to Ghidorah and Godzilla, they don't get wounded by military weapons, but it just hurts and annoys them.

Legendary Ghidorah was the most powerful. I would give it 9.5 out of 10.I don't know if Mothra had to sacrifice herself for Godzilla to get the atomic pulse, he's had it since the Heisei series and he used on Ghidorah back then.

I think Ghidorah being hurt by those mistakes is more of an assumption, we don’t know for sure he was actually hurt by them, just basing it on his reaction I don’t think is enough. I mean one could say his reaction was more being caught off guard then actually hurt. On top of that you can’t say those same missiles wouldn’t have hurt the Showa Ghidorah, as modern missiles and other weaponry is more powerful than anything Ghidorah was hit with in Showa ear movies.

Actually Godzilla didn't simply beat Ghidorah, the first ancient fight and leave him to be frozen.. During that fight, Godzilla had help from a Titan that could spray large amounts of liquid nitrogen and freeze enemies... During that fight, said Titan helped by freezing Ghidorah in enough nitrogen to in case in enough ice to last millennia.. It is why Ghidorah wasn't dead in the ice, in the movies.. He was frozen alive...... Also, I doubt Ghidorah was "eagerly waiting" for a fight, while frozen alive for thousands of years... Also he took time to regenerate, after being freed from the ice

I think Keizer Ghidorah is the strongest and most powerful besides the planet eater. Keizer can camp in long distance and throw around Monsterverse Ghidorah. Not to mention. Keizer has another form called Monster X. This form is more humanoid and is fast and agile.
