MSFS 2024's performance is heavily reliant on internet stability and speed. For those with a reliable, high-speed connection, the game's technical foundation is solid. However, the transition from MSFS 2020 has introduced new challenges. Many advanced features, which functioned seamlessly in the previous iteration, now exhibit instability, unreliability, or complete failure. This has significantly complicated IFR simulated flights, making them more demanding, but in the unpleasant way.

spent a few hours in the game and personally not ran into any issues, however, i have also not seen anything they could not have added to MSFS2020 through a 20-30 dollar dlc, i dont belive the excuses they gave for not being able to add the new things to 2020 version, i wholy belive they made a new game for the sales. but i have seen videos and screens of issues that should not by any means exist in a day 1 release version.

Again, these are your assumptions. I'm not a software programmer either. Besides career mode I think that ovalhauling the engine si it now fully supports multi core being multi threaded could be game changer on its own merit. So by adding new ground satellite photogrametry & 3d rocks & pebbles. All take a large hit. Multi threaded helps.

Totally agree at the moment MSFS2024 is very buggy in its current form, but so was MSFS2020 when it came out. It will improve in time as did MSFS2020 did. It is also very different in the set up and menus to MSFS2020 which is also a learning curve and what we need to adapt to to enjoy this new simulator. I was quite impressed with sitting in cockpit of Boeing 747-8 at Exeter Airport being battered by Storm Bert in Live Weather there was movement from gale force winds and from camera view outside the main wings were flexing in the gale force winds. Living close to Exeter Airport the clouds and rain were a close match to the current weather outside. However a couple of days ago we had a covering of snow on the ground and in MSFS2024 the ground surfaces including grass looked like a normal Autumn day, there could have been frost on the ground in the Sim or on the static aircraft. Also I’ve experienced rain at airport but runway and taxiway was dry in Sim. Buildings still look like Microsoft default buildings. But I think MS2024 is worth it and given time it the bugs will be sorted and gamers need to get used to the way to enjoy this new Flight Sim.

PS, forgot to mention my internet speed is 40MB/s. And I use XBox Series X with Thrustmaster Hotas One controller which was a bugger to configure as throttle and elevator costs were inverted. I’m now in process of setting my mouse up which is extremely sensitive.

Hi, I did the same in 2020, I live in Dunkeswell, which on Thursday we had 4 inches of snow. So I set up a flight from EGTU with live weather and was just rain and fog. I was going to buy 24 for my birthday next week, but after reading reviews I'll delay it a few months. I brought an Air Fryer instead of an Air Flyer. lol.

I didn’t preorder and had already decided to wait until February 2025 when I expect a lot of the issues to be resolved. And being honest, this launch has gone exactly how I expected it to. Asobo and Jorg are clearly very passionate about the sim, but their execution is often poor, it was in 2020 were they constantly broke things with each update (new London photogrammetry and the river Thames for example). It seems this lack of QC had continued and the sim was in no way ready for release, not withstanding the infrastructure issues (which are unforgivable IMO). I had huge reservations about the cloud centric approach, and it seems this has been realised sadly. I am sure it will improve, but at this point I refuse to pay for 2024 and I’m perfectly happy in 2020.

Honestly I am going back to MSFS2020 where all of my addons are and where I know the sim will always work. I feel like MSFS2024 was rushed out of the gate and is not quite ready for people to play. I will check back in a month or so when the sim has been updated and things fixed.

I did the $1 for 2 weeks gamepass with $15 AUD monthly subscription. I agree that it's a disappointment. It is a real pain to try and get all the controls to work properly! some of the scenery is better but others are average and/or the same to me as MSFS2020.At this stage I'll probably cancel before the 2 weeks trial is up then wait till next year to see how it improves. I'm sure it will slowly improve but I don't have the patience to keep it while waiting. Thanks for another great Vids.Cheers.

Unstable! Wow. My experience so far. Up to date playing everyday, I have had no CTD,s. I did have a low bandwidth warning at peak player period. Flights at dawn and dusk are just outstanding with the lighting changes. The career mode is a game changer. Having the ability to get out and walk around. There are many subtle changes that make a huge difference from FS2020. I like it.

Took very little time to install. Runs buttery smooth with no stutters. I setup my hotas with primary flight controls in about 5 minutes. Ran for about an hour with no crashes. I've been simming a lot longer than most and I had no issues with 2024. I did see a few graphic glitches but nothing major. I have 500 mps internet service and screen load times were not bad at all.

I think the largest problem for me is the constant need for high Internet though put. I don’t get the bandwidth through wireless. I would with Ethernet cable. But I can’t use a cable permanently without my apartment owners getting involved ( which they don’t agree too). I’ve been flying X-Plane for 16 years so I’m not really concerned about MSFS, I’ll never buy it, just pointing out the internet connection is not as sophisticated as it needs to be for MSFS 2024. I watched a famous streamer today flying 2024, constantly waiting for textures to load. Took 15 minutes just to get into a plane. CTD constantly. I miss the DVD days😅.

4 or so months after buying MSFS2020 Premium Deluxe for $130 back in 2020, the sim became unstable and crashed to desktop between 0-15 minutes into any flight. I waited it out rechecking after multiple major updates for 3 year going back to playing my primary (combat) flight sim DCS, and it never got better. I even got another motherboard because I was having USB connectivity issues that was observable in DCS. No luck. I spent that much (a bit more for a premium local city), and didn’t even expect it to blow me away. Just offer the ability to casually fly around a more civilian inspired virtual world in simpler aircraft and it didn’t even deliver that. Even when MSFS ran, despite the fact that the world has zero interactivity, and looks worse in many areas and altitudes than DCS, it ran worse despite 5950x/4090/64GB specs. I’m not making that mistake again on a promise. They’re going to need a killer feature and I’ll see where the community thinks this thing is in a year before dropping a dime.
@andy70d356 сағат бұрын
Cant compare DCS to MSFS both very different, DCS is military where MSFS is GA and Civil aircraft, x-plane is the only one I believe that offers both types of flying, not used it for many years.
@EbonySeraphim6 сағат бұрын
@@andy70d35 I didn't make a general "which is the better" sim comarison. I made a software quality comarison. One crashes, the other doesnt. I don't care that MSFS has "worse sim qualities" in some respects than DCS -- truly. I don't care for super accurate fligth sim models, of course it doesn't do weapons, damage, and mission scripting around that, etc. But the "little" I needed MSFS to do, the fact that it still ran worse AND crashed is why it was a waste of my time. It cost me $130 dollar, but honestly I need to be paid for the time I wasted on it. In hindsight after my experience with it, if MSFS2020 was free, I would NOT have downloaded it. My time is worth more than the $130.

Thanks for the video. I feel quite disheartened by this launch. I’ve recently had 150gb full fibre internet installed, which is loads more than I ever ran MSFS 2020 on. Yet the new version is so stuttering and jumpy I can’t sensibly use it. It’s going to need a lot of work to set up but I can’t do that when it simply isn’t running properly. I’m worried that the concept of running a game out of the cloud is fatally flawed. Internet speeds are never uniform, so can this really work? Have ASOBO taken a path that no one will ever follow? We’ll see - for now it’s back to 2020 for me - silky smooth and all my favourite aircraft. Was it a bad dream that cost £120 quid?

well, i pre ordered the premium experienced the lack of programming skills when the software was unable to automatically set up my flight controller to work. I spent almost 2 hours trying to bind the primary control surfaces and even though the soft ware showed that it was bound, even in the windows control panel bound the stick as soon as it was plugged into the os the ms flight sim 2024 was unable to complete this simple task. I requested a refund from steam with what i experienced and had my 200 bucks back in under 2 hours.

Had an absolute blast today, Alaska in the Caravan. Great details in the mountain walls near an airport. Butter smooth in VR (Varjo Aero, 13900K 4090 64GB DLSS Quality) 30 fps motion reprojection on. Had same smooth 30 fps above... Manhattan, in the Robinson helicopter. First days were terrible, I admit. And it is something like a lottery, if it works ok for you or not. Main problem is the servers I guess. And indeed, stupid bugs and confusing menus (controls!), and sometimes CTD in the menus (yesterday for me), cloud edges in VR are still blocky, even more so, clouds at night were different in my left eye compared to right eye, very annoying. But overall I am happy for now. I keep 2020 installed, as a backup use case.

Even days after the launch and with a 500 mbps connection I still get erratic levels of rendering quality in textures. My biggest complaint is how lifeless the water of the coastlines and lakes and ocean look in most places and also the vegetation , although you could say it's better in terms of rendering quality the variety and the type of vegetation just doesn't match the areas where I'm flying.
