Asalaamualaikum. We are living at a time where time is ticking fast. Music can lead to addiction. With that being said, it can then be very time consuming. And then you got sports broadcasted on television which is another time consumer. And then you got soaps, movies, media, gaming platforms, paying a visit to your friends, time spent at work, etc. My question is, how much time do we have remaining for our Deen?

Masha Allah interesting topic to consider, but even more interesting is that a slave woman is referred to as" black and ugly" when I myself have seen some extremely black women (dark ones). Also, in the ancient world there were all types of slaves from all types of nationalities. Being a slave due to status or work is one thing, but a creature of Allah being considered ugly is another. Very interesting. May Allah give more hidayah to these Sheikh's, how they speak and even relay the messages from the wise predecessors. An example of why people must be careful when listening to Sheikh's, Priests etc etc.

Generally in those days there were not many “slaves” of white complexion even if of different nationalities. Slaves are those which u can buy or sell as an entity and those received in war. May Allah correct me if I am wrong. Nowadays having a servant is not equal to a slave. Also he is trying to highlight the virtue of being a believer Vs non believer. His language may not be appropriate but we need to understand his actual context.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh sister. As for the educational videos for my kids, I put on Zaky and Friends. I subscribed also to Muslim kid's TV which allow us to select the "no music" option. As for the drawings, I thought my kids to not draw a complete drawing such as the eyes, mouth etc. I also went to their schools to tell them that my kids are not allowed to be in the music classes (so they are exempted from this). I made sure to tell the teachers that their drawings has to be as such too. I explained to the teachers that my kids are not allowed to do researches on Greek gods or anything pagan related nor anything religion related (we live in Italy + husband is an Italian revert). In these cases we hv to put our feet down for the sake of Allãh Azza Wa Jal. We cannot follow their rules and we definitely can avoid letting our children be sucked into these fitna in shaa-Allah. Now Alhamdulillah my kids know what to do and how to stand up for their rights too. The world is getting uglier, we have to be better Muslims and our kids are our future leaders/Muslims.. May Allãh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala protect us all from His wrath and leads us all on the right path, the path that our Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam came to guide us upon. Aameen Allãhumma Aameen.

Only these five things are prohibited and prohibited in the shari'ah of God. Nothing else is unlawful in it. This is a divine declaration on what is unlawful; Thus, no one has the right to declare anything as unlawful besides these. Accordingly, now something can only be regarded as unlawful if it contains traces of any of the unlawful things mentioned above. Narratives of the Prophet (sws) and of the Companions (rta), historical reports and the statements of previous scriptures will be understood in the light of this verdict of the Qur'an. Anything which deviates from it or is against it shall not be accepted.

@@mbs0710 There are more than five things which are prohibited in the Shari'ah. I recommend you to briefly study it. The Shari'ah is derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. What you have done is build your own criteria to determine what should be in the religion and what should be not, which no scholar is an agreement or anyone in the history of Islam and this is completely wrong. This again, is your own personal understanding and therefore a personal opinion. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has every right to declare something as unlawful considering that Allāh is not in a Disapproval with it. Allāh Himself has set Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a judge of our religious affairs and as one who should be obeyed by us: *But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission. (4:65)* Allāh has Mentioned in the Qur'an that those who obey not the Messenger's orders will be punished or a trial will overcome them: *Then let those beware who withstand the Messenger's order, lest some trial befall them, or a grievous penalty be inflicted on them. (24 : 63)* Allāh has also mentioned not to have any own personal opinions, options or choices when Allāh or His Messenger ﷺ has Ordered something: *It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error. (33 : 36)* It is made clear from Allāh that we have to obey the Messenger ﷺ without having any of our own personal opinions on how it should be obeyed. The Hadīth is authentic and it forbids music and we have to obey Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ. Brother, it is made clear, so please put music aside as we will be questioned on the Day Of Judgment.

They littetally just instruments, and then you chose wether to use them for good or for bad. Make music about din, peace and love or about adultry and easy money.
