"New Atheism" May die but that doesn't mean atheism will or even can die. Until theism comes up with a rational argument for "God" that doesn't require we accept unjustified assumptions in the premises, it won't be more likely true. That's just a sad truth.

All arguments have unjustified assumptions if you go deep enough. When you get to them you just have to judge for yourself whether they're more likely to be true or false.

Yes and with theology the assumptions are purely for filling gaps.

And as it turns out, we all tend to agree on the assumptions used in logic and science - those very minimal assumptions - just not on the additional assumptions theists must tack on in an attempt to defend the stories they were taught to believe as a child. Theists can't even agree with _other theists_ about those additional assumptions. That's because they start with their desired conclusion and then work desperately for ways to try to justify it.
