hi friend, I'm the person from France who commented on cable connections recently. Xtool really has efficient technical support, I spoke with them yesterday for 2/3 suggestions to improve, and they answered me directly and the next day there is now an update to see the battery voltage when we do the diagnosis . Really great tool, this d8s and great brand that listens to customers!

i was looking to get D9S but it have 6500mAh battery with bigger screen & that mean the battery will not last long without charging! while the D8W 10000mAh with small screen & i was disappointed! thats was really weird for me! but still D8 is a beast. Xtool nailed it with their tools awesome features & subscription & prices! i bought D8W & it's in the way. 37

Great review. I Just received my D8W. Wifi direct, not bluetooth. The bluetooth version 'BT' is slower than W. I'm a long time DIYer and have been researching advanced diagnostic tools for YEARS. Look no further than the D8W. It is outstanding in many ways and the cost and even the subscription after the first 3 free years is much lower than anything comparable out there. Other devices in this price point are inferior.

​@@LandonChapmanThere is one other thing I considered. I am fairly certain you can power up the device with a cable to the ODB2 port on the BT. This cannot be done on the W as there is no port at the top of the device. Wasn't an issue for me.

Guys because xtool has changed so much over the year, where do you recalibrate/reset new fuel injectors? I can not find it. I'm sure Injection coding is not the one. And if it is, it fails to communicate with Volkswagen Tiguan 2009

Ironically, I was messing around with the Learn ETC on the Xtool D7 and bricked my throttle! Fortunately, I had a ThinkDiag2 and was able to perform a Learn ETC that actually worked. So I had the opposite problem, also a 2014 Caravan. So the point is to have more than 1 scanner in case you do something that messes everything up.

Yes, you are right lots viewers have stated they have 3 different scan tools. I don’t know if this will help with your dodge caravan but I did the transmission relearn and the transmission jerk is gone using a Otofix d1 pros.

Perhaps the manufacturer of DX8 abandoned support for it and released this version to cover the shortcomings. Many of the features in the previous version make you frustrated because you are unable to complete it despite their presence in it.

Yes, it can program keys but like all scan tools it’s hit or miss on the keys. They have specialized key scan tools but I have tried those but I’m sure they too have vehicles that can not work one. It works on dodge but not my Toyota. Autel or Otofix works for my Toyota

Does this tool calibrate the blind spot monitor for the 2021 Camry SE?

I have tried but it sounds like the blind spot monitor is part of the Adas systems. I would email Xtool and send your vin. Just so you know for Adas calibration you sometimes need specialized parts. The milage change error was in another YT video a year ago, so seems like they haven't fixed it eh. You gave it a 10 for bidirectional but yet it can't even set the correct mileage?

Sorry I don’t follow, change the mileage is possible but it depends on the vehicle. I get this question a lot about change the mileage. So here is the run down. Yes you can change the mileage on certain vehicles ( you actually dont change the mileage, you have to change the kilometers, the base reading is kilometers) and even if you change the odometer just know that data is also stored on the pcm as “ pcm odometer reading “ After 2010 it’s now a federal crime to change the odometer unless a repair was made. There was a previous 10 mileage law but it has since changed to 20 as odometer fraud has shot through the roof. I use scan tools to verify the true mileage before buying a vehicle.

You mentioned it not displaying battery voltage and there was an easy fix. I am needing the voltage and found your video when searching how to find voltage information. Did I miss the easy fix? I did not hear you mention it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have to pay every year in order for this OBD reader to work ? If you dont pay does that still work ? Do you need to have internet to used it ? If you don't updates does that still work without updates ? Out from the box can you used it without wifi or internet ? Can this scan for Fuel Pressure ? And can this scan for compression test ? Is this a Complete diagnostic Scan tools ?does it Scan from 1996 cars going up ? How about Toyota Camry 2001 2.2 Liter 4 Cyl or Buick Park Ave 2003 3.8 Liter does it Scan these cars ? Does this scan for battery ignition parameters ? Does it Scan for a bad head gaskets ?

It works on your vehicles your mentioned and you can use it even if the updates expire. There is no real scan for a head gasket but yiu may get a misfire code for a cylinder that can help figure out it’s a head gasket. I answer most of the other questions during the video.

The d7s and d8s are okay for doing but hit or miss. My dodge is able to corrected but on my Toyota is not supported. But it does work for some Toyotas. If this a major concern email the vendor your vin numbers and ask for a list of supported features.

You would need to install an App Store like google play or install a apk package. Sometimes there is security issues so you will need to find a jail beak that most likely going to be done via the browser. Look on youtube.

I just reviewed the x431 pro elite and didn’t have that experience. I found the Xtool to be a better tool. The x431 seems like launch is just piecing together bits and pieces of a good scan tool. The hardware on the Xtool is much better in my opinion. Now I haven’t tried your ps90

For both the D7 and D8, they have 'BT' bluetooth version AND... a 'W' wifi direct version. I just received my D8W version. Don't bother with BT, spend a little extra and get the W. It is superior in transfer speed.
