But why giving this type of man appointment in a sensitive office such as Petroleum; it's clear that he has no plans or no set goals. maybe only there to steal

Anybody saying refineries will not bring down fuel price is either stupid or very wicked. Cost of sea transport gone, customs clearing gone, every port you pass through there is a tax also gone, by having phortacourt, warri and kaduna with the inclusion of dangote, will mean that every region will have a refinery inside or close to it

The minister's response is rubbish. Obvious that he's just using word salad to confuse. Local refining will not reduce the price of petrol significantly. The only factors that will affect the price are the international price of crude and the naira/dollar exchange rate. If an oil minister cannot do that basic math, the minister isn't of much use in my humble opinion. And if oil is not determined by market forces, then the subsidy is still in place

Heineken Lokpobiri still claiming to be a Senator when he is actually a Minister of State? What exactly does Lokpobiri know about his ministerial portfolio? Why is the President of the country also the Minister of Petroleum Resources?

How many Nigerian-owned companies own wells in Nigeria?
@alexbanj7a7bc5 ай бұрын
I can mention OANDO. Sahara. Seplat. Aiteo. Famfa. Conoil. Oriental. Heirs. Aradel. First E & P. NPDC. NNPC which owned 55% of the joint venture with foreign oil companies operating in Nigeria and even up to 60% in some cases. And to be clear, legally speaking, all the minerals, gas, and oil in Nigeria belong to the government of Nigeria. The oil companies, both the foreign oil majors and Nigeria's indigenous oil companies operate the oil wells on *lease* from the Nigerian government.

There is nothing that makes some clueless people, especially our "y'all" type of folks, feel like they are part of the smart set like venting thunderously and indignantly about something that is evidently above their pay-grade. KZbin’s comment section happens to be the place where every *regular* bloke out there can roleplay as expert crude oil trader apparently.

People like you are so difficult to to please. How much will you buy a liter of PMS as the crude pride is on the rise because wars and the exchange rate was so high at the time?
