You may have said this as I've only listened to the first half hour, but I think I'm not the only one wishing it was Canon that acquired RED and not Nikon. Something just doesn't seem right about it. I would be frustrated AF to be honest if I'd invested in the new RED's and a heap of RF glass to find out my Camera will likely be the last of a kind. I think it's likely the mounts for the cameras will change, it makes no sense for Nikon to be making Canon mount cameras.

Simple answer is no. They'll bring it on Z9 II, Z8 II, and Z6 IV. Aside from LOGs, they've already got RAW. Nothing more to it

We've got log and RAW. REDs raw compressions would be a nice middle ground..

@@northofbrandon NLOG is not great. DR takes a hit. I think it’s a better attempt than Canon’s C-LOG, but they improved much more with C-LOG2 and C-LOG3.

The r5ii launch was ousjed back due to supply issues. It was stated late last month. The 200-800 has had supply issues for the better part of a year.

Honestly, I don’t think they will put R3D RAW in Nikon cameras because I think it will undermine RED camera sales. I’m sure RED shooters would buy more Nikon cameras, but it removes a big chunk of the market that might have bought a RED just to get R3D RAW. Maybe they took that into consideration and the math works out in their favor either way, but I doubt it will happen. If so, great.

RED RAW users could use Premiere Pro vs Nikon's N-RAW on DaVinci. That could help market share too.

I don’t think they will but the MKII versions I believe they will. The older hardware may not be capable but I’m sure they will make the new versions capable. At that point, it’s literally game over!! The Z8 and Z9 MKII will literally be the best hybrid camera… PERIOD !

The ceo of Red said the xspeed 7 is a very powerful chip almost saying it was more powerful than the chip in the Komodo so I think they can totally update the Z8-Z 9 with Red raw .

I think it would be the Z9 before the Z8. Especially with the battery constraints on the Z8.
