just have pools be it’s own tournament, prize is ‘free entry’ to top 64. then a new tournament begins with 64 or whatever, and then another tournament for the final finalists. Have some sort of donation or raffle, with only 1 winning ticket, and the winner of grands wins that. They win no cash from the actual playing of melee, just a voucher to redeem for cash in an unrelated side event

I'd love to see this stand up in court. You can't say that having food and water sold at a venue is infringing on your IP. Any judge who looks at that and any police officer who looks at that will throw it out and I'd hope fine Nintendo for wasting their time.

Problem is that the 'justice' system has no justice. There is no justice to be found in a system where those with money and influence can get away with horrible things that are against the law because they can just drag the cases out until their opponent runs out of money. It's the government's responsibility to ensure that crap like this can't happen.
