I enjoy NCL, but they are pricing themselves out of the market especially as a solo cruiser in either a solo cabin or a regular one. I recognize the excursion thing. I do like the smaller ships and the Getaway. I hope their prices drip a bit.

I agree. I feel the same about RCI. NCL keep "poking" me by sending an email offering me 10% OFF. BUT it's still too expensive.

I just went on the Viva in Europe last week. Was actually disappointed. Couldn't attend any shows in the bars or atrium because there was no space. Also no dance floor so people had to dance in the walk way. Rooms were also configured wrong. Most chairs were not even facing performers, or even looked like were in the same room. The food was also lacking and menus repeated and had same menu in two of the restaurants. The staff were amazing and very friendly, but I won't be going on the Viva again. Not enough entertainment areas to enjoy and no room to enjoy, so I ended up going to my cabin.

Great review. I have been looking for viva deals for around 12 months and what ever offers they have the final price always seems to be the same. Yes your right cruising state side the volume is always on full. We sailed OASIS out of New Jersey OMG they shout at each other when they are stood next to them 🤷🏻‍♂️ Nice to see captain Hudson on the table in Hudson. 👍

Thanks ☺️ The tip we have been told is to try the slightly older NCL ships as they tend to do more deals for the Emma s the newer ships are always full as they’re popular… It’s a lovely ship though if you can afford the price tag

Great video! I do enjoy NCL. The Joy, Bliss, Beakaway and Getaway are really nice. I think the free at sea package still a good value. Many cruise lines have up charges on a lot of things these days. You have to pay taxes on drinks in many US ports. On NCL if you book excursions before your cruise they take the $50 off right then.

NCL seem to have a lot of charges they don’t advertise and yet charge a high base fare especially to cruisers from the UK… we don’t mind up charges if the original fare reflects that and is reduced! Hopefully we can find a good cruise on the ships you suggest and give them another go 😊

Just got off Norwegian 7 day cruise was worse cruise ever. Food horrible, beds to hard, countries we ported in was in ghetto section. The beaches in DR and PR where dirty not what they showed in brochures. Our balcony was half size expected only 2 people could sit on it. Definitely will never book with them. Cost was outrageous for what we seen.

Also cost of excursion should been included in prices and really werent that great. Specialty restaurants food was horrible plus the wait get in even though had reservations was long

Oh dear doesn’t sound like a good time! 😔 did you raise your issues to the crew when onboard? We have found the crew will generally try to help if they can… Sadly a lot of ports are not the most picturesque you do tend to have to go out a bit more to find the better towns and beaches. Hopefully your next cruise is better 😊
