I have that exact trim for my Rental car. Coming from our a 2011 and 2015 Forte, there is definitely an upgrade. The tech and cabin noise quietness was amazing. Comfortable ride and good space.

Hyundai is pretty generous with their rebates so yeah, it would be wise to buy this car on a budget. You also get the 10-year warranty. If it was my decision, I would get the 2021 cause it just kills this car in every way.

Funny seeing this video! I literally just purchased a 2018 Elantra SEL (pre-facelift which looks better) over the weekend and can say without a doubt that it's a solid, well-built, and quite efficient compact sedan. I really love it, actually. The interior, while filled with hard plastics, feels incredibly solid and nothing creaks or rattles when you press against it. The door cards even feel thick when you knock on them, which for me is a sign of a solid vehicle that's built well. I also look at where the plastic pillars meet the headliner, which is very tightly assembled. This is weird stuff, but it tells me a lot about a car's quality. I'm coming from a 2014 Ford Focus SE with that dreaded PowerShift transmission which was easily one of the worst vehicles I've ever owned. This Hyundai is how you build an inexpensive and solid car properly!

I’ve driven rental Elantras all over Northern Michigan, California, and New England and they all were comfortable, nimble and got great gas mileage. At $16K it’s a great price, A/C, sound system, power locks, windows and cruise, what else do you really need. Throw in a box of Twinkies and you have a deal.

For $16k this is an absolute steal. It's not that much different than the closely related Kia Forte. Sure it's nothing fancy but if you know someone fed up with car problems and needs a cheap new car to daily, this is for you!

I had this car for 13 months, I bought it new as 2019 SEL trim. The seats don’t have lumbar support and they really not comfortable for long drives . The Isolation inside the car aren’t the best , you can hear road noise all the time. But it’s really economic and small and good with small parking. I would give it 7 out of 10. I really hated the seats.

I’ll keep my 2016 Elantra GT , Only $18,000 CND🇨🇦 . 173Hp and up to 39Mpg . The 2017 was better looking , it just needs more than 147Hp, its been over 4 years for that engine .

I don't really like the outgoing Elantra because of the exterior was uglified from the 2017-18, the car at around $16K is great for someone just looking for a daily commuter, especially the warranty and 3 years free maintenance. Get an SEL or above for the Carplay/Android Auto capability. Best one for the $ is the Value Edition since you get a moonroof too, but I'm sure most dealers are ready to deal on any 2020 model since the 2021s are about to roll out.
