This is a) A really good explanation for DCF method and b) Good at setting realistic expectations for investing in OXY- which I have just done, so thank you! For the time value of money concept, it is tricky to comprehend and I think what everyone forgets to add is WHY 100 bucks today is preferable. It's not an arbitrary greedy choice, it's because in business you would then invest that money today and make even more, so by discounting future cash you're effectively accounting for the missed opportunity on investing that 100 bucks today.
