A successful bookstore owner saying 'i don't know what this means' about a financial term is more encouraging than all the bookstore videos I've watched combined.

As one indie bookstore owner to another. I wish you all the very best. I'll be making my own version of this video with some very realistic, non sugar coated stats as well.

Your November and December numbers do make sense rom a retail standpoint. November typically sees higher spends, only because December drops off from the 24th to the 31st by comparison so you have fewer shopping days in December vs November.

I’m so glad you decided to share this, and that I found it lol. I am in the very early stages of making my bookstore dream come to life and this helped so much. I appreciate you and I wish you extreme success.

CJ, thanks so much for sharing this info. This really is small biz life. Expensive! All those up front , possible one-time, costs and unexpected…everything. Back in the early 2000s, my 1st husband & I bought a coffee kiosk biz in a mall. Well established, etc. it was a ton of fun and it was very hard. I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. Congratulations! I wish you continued tenacity and creativity!

That was so helpful for any one who holds the idea of opening a bookstore, the financial part is what makes any business success or fails that's what worries any one at the beginning & your video here really gave us an optimistic and positive view for opening a bookstore ,so thank you & I hope you do the best with your bookstore

This was so helpful. I live in a small town also… just looked at lease costs for a spot just off our one Main Street , similar to what you described … $3000. I am flabbergasted that the little businesses make it work.

(Possibly a stupid Q, please forgive) Am I able to purchase from the UK, and receive an American cover? Or am I redirected to a British site of sorts where I can purchase a UK cover. I am willing- if possible- to purchase both books and postage on certain releases as I much prefer the American edition.
@CJReads Жыл бұрын
ah i think bookshop would be redirected to the uk thus giving you the uk version im afraid :(

if you don't make a profit you don't pay taxes. If you pay 20% on your credits then get a better credit line and pay this off asap, ask your accountant. Imho the 20% credit card debt that you can partly pay off right away with your bank debit is the only 'weird' thing in this overview. But I'm European so maybe I miss something
