One day I hope to open a small shop. Yours is so cute and you've come so far. I wish you all the best but I think you'll do just fine even without my wishes.

I am OBSESSED with you and this video. I've needed to hear a lot of these things for years...especially your part about hiring a person just for one task. That's something I would absolutely be guilty of..thinking an EE could do it all.

Congratulations Young Lady and WONDERFUL video! My preference is to get warehouse space and allow pick ups on specific days but your video was still very insightful and gave me some things to add to my "Ask About This" list when I'm in my procurement phase.

That’s a great way to do it too! Especially because you are committed to work certain hours with a store front.

Did you say 35K to start up? So happy for you, i've been watching your vids since you reopened your candle business!!! Thank you for always putting out useful content, truly appreciate it...YT videos take a lot of time to put together!!!
@TianaCoats3 жыл бұрын
Yes around $35k to get everything together for the shop. I also spent a ridiculous amount on custom fixtures. I learned ikea is a way cheaper but they seem to be out of stock on a lot of things.
@AviyahAbides2 жыл бұрын
@@TianaCoats this was really informative and exactly the information I was looking for. I thought you said $3,500, but $35,000k? What were the expenditures? Like for a general setup without the candals and fixtures? I would like to open up a Heath supplement store in my area, but on a small scale. Rent might run me $1000/month and my POS system is not finalized, then my supplies. I was hoping $6000 might get me started? It would be a smaller store as well in Missouri. Guess I’m not ready ?😢

girl you are right there are not many retail videos! This was so helpful! Out of curiosity why was it 35k to start?
@TianaCoats2 жыл бұрын
This was around the total for getting into the space, inspections and getting everything to code, the retail furniture, POS system, and the merchandise to fill the store. There are just a lot of little things that I had to buy that added up in cost.

So cool! Congratulations on your business shop location and growth! So happy for you! And thanks for sharing all the super helpful and informative tips. Were a handcrafted business too, started 2020. Its really hard, and I wish we were growing faster if at all.. I use like so many social media platforms.. create content, updates, sales, some items are consigned to 2 businesses... but not seeing a ton of sales. 1 is doing better than the other... working so hard and im exhausted... I had started doing social media diff, show myself, me and husband and its made a diff. But not crazy growth.. just a little..... ?.. trying. Thank you for your work! And your youtube channel!!

You mentioned that you spent about 35K, did you get a business loan or did you save up?
@TianaCoats2 жыл бұрын
I did not get a loan. I used money from the business, but I think low interest loans are a smart move if you can get approved. If your business is making profit then you can utilize someone else’s money instead of your own.

How did you find a affordable retail space
@TianaCoats3 жыл бұрын
I was house shopping and saw the potential in the Ferris downtown area. I also talked to people in the town before buying the house. Once I got the house I talked around town to find the retail spot. I’ve learned talking with people around time helps a lot! Some places are never listed online and you just have to know someone.
