Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

Somehow not surprised Luna has some leftover milk. Had a chicken (named Spice for the red speckles down her front that looked like she'd spilled spices on herself) years back who had stopped laying (she was an old girl) but started laying because she was jealous of the new chickens. They were tiny eggs and had no yolk, but she was determined that she would not be replaced as queen of the coop. Luna reminds me of her since both get/got into all sorts of antics. Happy birthday Luna, keep up the antics for Spice who's no longer around to do so.

Wow, that is such a cool story. Is she still with u or has she since passed on? I have some Australorps and some silkies and they lay basically par along the number they are supposed to. I had one of the group lay one no bigger then the end/tip of my thumb to the first knuckle from the tip. Way too small for even the silkies. It was I guess about the size of a Robin’s egg. Crazy. My kids that it was fake until we cracked it open to an egg white but no yolk. Heck even just the yolk of a silkie egg was larger than this egg, lol!!! We just thought it was cool!!! Much love!!!

Wow! Isn't that really weird! I didn't know about the DNA thing. I'm breeding my Nigerian Dwarf Goats in December because its very cold in the Northeast and I dont wanna kid born in the coldest time of the year. I've been watching you guys for over 3 yrs now.
