I think he doesnt like to be a prisoner of the moment, which I agree with. If you go back and look at videos of MJ, Montana, etc or when you see any big sports play, announcers would say "he made a great play" or " He's the best player on the planet." Now-a-days it's like "he's the GOAT", "that may be the greatest play ever", or "he's the best we've ever seen". Too much praise for current active players

For the past 3-4 years he's been a post read type QB..This is the first year I've seen him play after play be a pretty consistent pre snap read QB. And maybe that's something that had to happen in order for them to win with these receivers. Running around making plays with no play makers is pretty tough, he lived by that. I would say if he continues on like he is now and gets 5 rings, and ties Brady for league MVP’s he would be the new GOAT. But Brady played well enough in two of those SB losses that the only reason they lost was the defense didn’t get it done. Eli beat them on an 80 yard drive with an impossible helmet catch and Bill let Nick Foales boat race his defense while Brady and the offense went above and beyond offensively. On the other hand the defense saved Brady’s bacon on a couple of those rings as well

I vividly remember during the regular season when the Chiefs passing game was struggling. All of the blame for their struggles was directed at Pat Mahomes wide receivers. But now they made back to the Superbowl. Pat Mahomes is getting the bulk of the credit with very little mention of how well the defense has played and how his wide receivers have stepped up. Verses Buffalo and Baltimore. The KC offense has been pedestrian but they won both games. I just don't understand why the media refuses to acknowledge that football is a team game with so many moving parts all of which can determine the outcome of the game despite how well or poorly your QB plays.

IMO Patrick Mahomes is like Peyton Manning Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers all blended together. There are four quarterbacks with more rings but as far as quarterbacks go Pat is the Michael Jordan of quarterbacks. I'm mainly going off of eye test not stats and I'm saying it right now Pat Mahomes is an arguable goat as we speak you don't have to wait until he's about to retire to say that. By the end of Pat Mahomes career the only knock you'll be able to say about him is he got beat by Tom Brady right before Tom Brady immediately started playing like a 65-year-old man. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’m not going “best ever” but he is unquestionably an all-time great already before the age of 30. I don’t think he’s a more talented thrower of the football than Dan Marino or Aaron Rogers. I don’t think he has more command of an offense than Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. I don’t think he’s quite as clutch in the biggest moments as Brady or Elway. He’s right up there with all those guys but not ahead of them…YET. Also I’m hesitant to put any modern QB on the same level let alone ahead, as all-time guys who played the position in a much more physical and difficult NFL that didn’t have all these current day rules for there benefit.
