Shane is so real for coming on the Amusement Park Rides podcast and saying he wouldn't wait 60 minutes for any ride and doesn't care about them at all.

Honestly, same. I like theme park rides like at a 6 Flags or the fair, but the line lengths people regularly wait in at Disneyland are ridiculous! (Love their set designs, tho)

Gentlemen, please know that regardless of what the view count may suggest on some of these episodes, this podcast makes a specific group of people extremely happy, and I hope you never stop making it. As a major theme park nerd and a huge Watcher fan, this pod is music to my ears. It is perfection and all that I could ever want out of a podcast, and I will tune in to every single episode you guys make for as long as you make them. Seriously, this pod fills a hole in my podcast-viewing/listening life that is massive, and I very, VERY much appreciate the work you guys put in to make these for us. I watch various pods that cover some of my various major interests in life, but I have never had a dedicated theme park pod in my rotation at all, despite me having a huge interest and love for all things theme park related. I mean, I consider myself a huge theme park nerd in basically every way. Obviously theme park nerddom is a smaller sect of society, but those of us who love it LOVE IT, and you will always have a group of extremely loyal and supportive fans who love everything about this show. Plus, I don’t think I could choose better hosts for this topic on a podcast if I tried. I will be a proud viewer of this show as long as I may live! It truly is awesome, and you guys are very much appreciated!

ok but the que line actually USED TO have themeing, but they got rid of it a few years ago, probably because the line is never long enough anyway. they used to have a statue of a robot holding newspapers, i think he might've talked at some point but was eventually muted over the years. and then there was the phone booth where if you picked up the phone it would be all sorts of alien buisnesses like pizza planet or sonny eclipse's agent.

I've probably been on the people mover at least 150 times because I lived 25 minutes away, and I can't visit the Magic Kingdom without hopping on for at least two cycles. I'm disabled and also a theme park person, which doesn't typically mix well. Standing in lines for a long time can be painful, and I overheat/dehydrate so fast. The People Mover has always been there for me, and I think every theme park should have one attraction like it.

i worked at peoplemover when i was a cm so i was excited to see this week's topic was about my old stomping grounds! people would trip and fall all of the time, that's a big reason why we carried e-stop buttons on our wrists. also, a few times a week someone would jump out of the train and start running down the track and we would need to evac. which sucked because the TTA is cranky and old, and was a bitch to get started again once it stops moving. the rule was you could let people lap it as many times as they wanted as long as there wasn't a long line. also there are cameras and we would know if you were hitting your vape in the tunnel ;)

I'm with Shane, I don't want to wait more than 30-40 minutes for any ride. If I do, it will make me like the ride less because it won't feel like it was worth it. And I go to Disney World every year, so it's not like I hate theme parks. I'm there for the experience and waiting in line is not an experience that is fun to me. Hell, I could go to Disney World and not ride any rides, even go into any of the parks, and have a great time.
@FortKnoxMovies

I’m similar, but I think I got this way from going to the theme parks fairly often. The more I go the less I’m willing to wait on an attraction because I know there are some bangers that have really short wait times like the people mover.

Just here to say, I was never interested in theme parks and haven't been to any but this is one of my fav podcasts right now. I came over from just enjoying the Watcher channel content and decided to give the episodes a try and I just love it. I love the formula of the episode, it's a nice familiar thing to come back to every time. I'm now even interested in theme parks a lot more and love hearing about the next one. It's cool having the history and fun facts about each as well. So overall don't comment much but just wanted to chime in with that :) Looking forward to more episodes! (I know as an introvert I would love this ride)

My niche People Mover knowledge wants to share that the ride did have an extended outage period, but it didn't start until Jan 2020, and then reopening was impacted by *the world*, and didn't reopen until 2021. While I obviously love this ride, 65 minutes is insane.

I was at Disney in September of this year and waited in line for the People Mover for 30+ minutes because both the conveyor to the platform wasn't working. Once we got on, the car was stopping every few feet. We got through the first tunnel when they decided to shut down the ride. We got walked off of the ride, got to see the cast members back office, then got a free fast pass. It was really fun to listen to the episode after recently having this experience! 😂

LOL I laughed so hard when they brought up the appropriate age to bring a kid to WDW. My husband and I brought our daughter when she was 6 months old as her half birthday present and then just last week for her 1 year Birthday and Christmas present. She loved the lights, music, and could recognize characters that she loved (Ariel, Tigger). True, she may not remember, but in the moment she was excited by everything. Plus, it's free for her and we live only 30 minutes away from WDW lol

Back in the 80s, Disney had $20 Florida resident tickets, and I was at the Florida parks a LOT. When we went to Magic Kingdom, we'd always go on the Peoplemover after lunch while we were still kind of food groggy. Getting to see inside Space Mountain when one of the ride cars goes by is really cool because you can't really appreciate how they look when you are inside them.
