I find cat food to have a very strong "protein" taste and has no sweetness to it, edible but I dont like it. Fish food is (like the flakes) has similar problems to cat food comes with as well as a strong "fishy" smell. whereas dog food is mostly corn with some oil and meat flavor mixed in so it has much nicer "cornbread" taste, which makes sense as it more closely resembles a human diet.

Quick thing to note if you are gonna prepare food for cats and dogs yourself: Meat does not mean steak. You shouldn't keep your pets on an exclusive muscle meat diet just as you shouldn't try to keep them vegan. Just think of it: If a predator feeds in the wild it will not only devour some choice cuts but also entrails and fat as well as try to break open some bones to get to the marrow. Speaking of bones: Don't give them chicken bones to chew on. They are thin and brittle and can splinter into pointy shards that will hurt your pet.

The best food I have found is pet mince that is either called PMR (Prey Model Raw) or BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) look out for these as well as giving just muscle meat as your cat may not be getting all it's required vitamins and minerals. Although I certainly agree that most dried food is not biologically appropriate. I have only ever found a few dry foods from New Zealand that are REALLY nutritionally suitable dry foods one called Ziwi Peak which is a spray dried food (jerky like) that is also a prey model ratio of muscle meat, bone matter , organs and essential viatmins and minerals. @TodayIFoundOut8 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by "visually soft"?
@JoeDillingham8 жыл бұрын
As in all your videos look just slightly out of focus when played at full 1080 resolution. As if they were finished at a low res and then scaled up, or perhaps compressed too much. But, in the latter case, there is not excessive compression artifacting so probably not compression. Just softness, which I see on multiple computers in various places with different internet connections, so not the connection. Examples here: www.dropbox.com/sh/0un0d1911sbqryj/AABRS2Gp-Pgt9c0Yn1sVq8j9a?dl=0 Your logo is soft and your presenter is soft, but for some bizarro reason, the cat is sharp. So you're not finishing low-res and then upscaling, unless you're finishing at low-res, upscaling, and THEN adding the images. Very weird. This is true for as many of the videos on this channel as I have seen.

Problem solved by Simon. It's definitely a remnant of the fact that it's getting rendered three separate times throughout the editing process as it gets passed on from person to person to do their specific job on it. We're trying to come up with a way where we can all work off the same project files from our separate locations. That will fix it so it only gets rendered once. :-)
@JoeDillingham8 жыл бұрын
Ha, yep! That would do it. A good way to do it is to have one person responsible for the final conform who always has a copy of the source media. Say that is Person A. For this example, Person A does the base edit in Premiere. Person B, who has a copy of the media at proxy resolution, is responsible for pulling the key and color correction. Person C, who also has proxies or perhaps just a graphicless render to work off, is adding cat inserts and doing the sound mix. Once all the work is done, everything that Person B and C do should be sent to Person A for application to the highest quality source files. It minimizes the amount of data that needs to be sent as well, since Person B is just sending metadata in a project and Person C is just sending audio files and a project with metadata. The whole thing requires you all to be organized, but I imagine that you all already are. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents as someone who edits for a living. Your needs will vary, of course.

Just cause domestic cats have more sedate lives doesn't mean they should not be eating raw meat, it just means they need less food. Feeding cats commercial pet is not very good for them. Wet tinned food is very poor quality and giving them dry cat food (kibble) is like feeding them McDonald's every day. All cats, domestic and wild are carnivorous and have evolved to raw meat, whole animals. They can survive on vegetable derived protein but it is not really healthy for them in the long run. Cat should not be eating cereals and grains at all.

To be fair the standards are lower, because dogs and cats aren't as delicate as humans when it comes to diet. Hell raw meat is pretty dicey as it is and we can't even really digest many wild plants.

When people eat fast food, they know it's not very healthy and usually can force themselves to stop if they think they had enough, no matter how nice it tastes. With the cat, for once it is even more unhealthy than to us, plus they pretty much can't stop, they'll never know when it is enough... so you as the owner will have to strictly regulate how much they get of such "treats"... occasionally it's fine, but their main diet should not be "human food"

One weekend after the raccoons caused trash to get all over our yard, I went out with my pellet rifle and my cat (whom was an indoor and outdoor cat). Not completely accurate. Only the stupid ones. Let me elaborate. See, in the American capitalist system we have this thing called social security. It covers the minimum requirements to stay alive. We also have this other thing called INVESTING FOR YOUR RETIREMENT. It's a fairly simple concept that most people with half a brain participate in. My parents, on both sides, as well as their parents before them, live/lived quite comfortably in their old age. And no, they were most certainly NOT born with silver spoons in their mouths. Instead, they *worked their asses off*. That is how the capitalist system functions, see? Hope this helps.

Kenneth Pryde Well, I worked MY ass off for 31 years in a high stress job and became ill and had to retire on $2k a month. I can't get any part of my own retirement savings in a major PRIVATE sector company which is geared to the academics, medical, etc fields until I am 70 years old, I am 60 now and won't have any social security until 62 1/2 I had to sell my home to cover the rest of the mortgage. I eat dog and cat food because my medical and medicine bills are out of pocket except for some premium assistance by the ACA but my plan will be out of the ACA program next year so I will have no health insurance and have to pay a $600 fine to the IRS which is essentially a cut in my income. Draconis The Wyvern I didn't delete either, that would have been people getting butthurt and flagging it. The difference is when actual thorough inspection of product is done. With human food, it is during the manufacturing process. With pet food, it is when pets die. Yeah, you can eat pet food. However, it is much more likely to contain melamine or pathogens from large quantities of mouse feces/urine. Nothing about pet food makes it inherently harmful to humans, but the lack of a single fuck given by the manufacturers/transporters as far as quality control goes results in it being extremely hazardous. It's like drinking from a rainpuddle. It's probably fine. Probably. Edit: I misspelled some things and fixed them.

Is it natural? Definitely not. But it is possible for a cat to be healthy on a well supplemented vegan diet, though not all cats can do it as some allergies prevent the possibility. I am vegan and would never try to make my cats be vegan, but I see a lot of misinformation on the topic and most people think it's giving a cat a death sentence. Who cares? They eat them same as you, me and others around the world eat our calf, chicken and fish. What`s the difference?? I bet most people who cry about eating dogs in Asia wouldn`t show the same compassion for wild wolves as an example because those are not friendly, cute and fluffy. But they are an extremely endangered dying breed important for the whole ecosystem. That is basic human hypocrisy right there. People care only for that which they understand well. I care much more for natural species and their habitats and the complete ecosystem than for domesticated pets. Once we destroy all the wild life on earth we will be left with 500 000 000 domestic dogs and cats to jump around our heads and make our biodiversity. Just great.... And domestic (street) dogs are generally a nuisance and their numbers are too large and out of control in most of those underdeveloped countries. Also - rabies.

Pigs are even more clever than dogs and we have no problem eating them. Its just matter of habbit and culture really.

I do have a problem eating pigs. I'm not a vegetarian or a vegan, but I won't eat anything smarter than a cat. That means no dogs, no dolphin, no monkey, and no pig

CMstacker calm down. You're way to upset over a simple comment.

I think I'd rather die in an apocalypse that eat my cats food. I tried it once and it was vile.

Kit Fisto I don't think you will say the same thing when all you could eat was animal food and you were very hungry.

That´s like triple great for others, getting free cat food in addition to your flesh and one mouth less to feed, win/win/win. XD

FYI cats have a pretty poor sense of taste. It goes with the territory of being partially a scavenger predator and needing to eat partially rotten meat on a regular basis. They actually tend to be much more picky about the texture of their food than the taste.

It was probably just the presentation. Try a placing a sprig of parsely on the plate with the cat food, then charging yourself $60 for the meal.

Used to think beggin strips were delicious based solely on scent. Ate one once (several times); they don't taste like bacon.

Bonus fact makes sense though. Dogs & Cats dont require vast amounts of grazing land, take up little space. They're Small, compact, easy to transport sources of protein. It wasn't till Victorian times people kept cats & dogs as "pets".
