Yes he is. For me he is better than schmeichel. Cech won them that champions league just as much if not more than drogba. He saved robbens penalty in the 112 minute of the final caused by Drogba. And made great saves in general. Won them every trophy. Hes big strong agile, intelligent. Loved him even with his head injury which made him wear that cap became one of the best goalkeepers ever and the best in the premier leugue for me.

Single games doesn't make someone the best ever... Ole Solskjaer scored in the UCL final against Bayern Münich and won United the UCL, but nobody would claim Solskjaer is the best striker ever... Cech is at best top 10 GK the past 30 years. Keep in mind all the greats that has played the past 3 decades... Take Edwin van der Sar, won 10 titles at Man United (4 league titles + 1 UCL the best ones). He has the world record for minutes played without conceding for a goal keeper, 1311 minutes without conceding a single goal- that's over 14 games *in a row!*

If we are objective and forget "cool factor" or anything, it's between Čech and Schmeichel. For me it's Čech. Not only Čech has the most clean sheets overall and in a single season, he also has the most saves since this is measured. Also saved three penalties in a Champions League final etc. And in smaller clubs he proved he is good even behind bad defence. In Sparta Prague he had 17 clean sheets in 27 games and more than 900 minutes straight without goal then he went to France where he was immediately the best keeper in save percentage as well in Rennes. According to his Czech NT GK teammates they had competitions who kicks furthest and Čech always easily kicked over the whole field as well:-) The coaches later preferred Courtois because of age and Leno because of modern GK playing style but honestly I don't see much if any decline in Čech performance. He even adapted his creative game as Emery wanted, of course thanks to that he made some youtube friendly mistakes, but overall he was surprisingly successful in that. I think sometimes he is underrated because his saves didn't look that impressive as he was positioned so well and ready for the shot.I saw videos with Čech where he explains his reasoning behind how he saves shots in various situations, what style has the least chance of him losing the ball etc. Kind of like when Paolo Maldini or Thiago Silva clearly, calmly intercept the ball vs when Carragher or someone makes a last ditch sliding tackle that the crowd loves, while Silva and Maldini didn't even get to the point they would need that, if that makes sense.

This is gonna sound weird cause he’s had better games and obviously made better saves, but my favourite Cech moment (as an Arsenal fan) was the first game he played in when we signed him. He made a save that wasn’t particularly amazing, you’d expect all pl keepers to save it, but he literally used his save to pass it out to the full back. Stats dont adjust for time played, a better stat would be how many goals conceded per game or better yet shot saved percentage, granted i doubt those stats exist for every goalkeeper but that would be more telling of skill. Fyi peak de gea trumps peak cech but cech imhas been more consistant, Schmeichel trumps both in presence and contol, and edwin has got to beupthere too, coutois is definitely up there 1) Schmeichel 2) de gea 3) peak cech 4) edwin 5) coutois

He's definitely in the debate, but it's between Schmeichel and VDS for sure. De Gea would be up there as well but he played for Man Utd at the wrong time

Schmeichel and De Gea by far the better keepers... Cech was brilliant in Rennes....his first season at Chelsea also good... But he had the numbers simply because he played behind best defence in europe by that time in most defensively based team in europe. Just ask Czech people how he played in national team through the same years he was getting trophy with chelsea after another. When he played in not that good and defensive team in national squad....he disappointed his nation on EVERY MAJOR tournament and it was his mistakes that led to elimination from the cups. He is no way good in Arsenal too....this is how he is when he has no defensive force infront of him. That is true him....no way one of greatest in the league history

A defensive team's keeper always is under more pressure than attacking ones ! Cech has saved asses of Chelsea in many games ! Also, no one has 80% save percentile in PL other than Cech !

From a Liverpool fan I personally think it’s Peter Smichel or Van Der Sar . Also if De Gea stays at united he could become the greatest of all time in the prem .
