It’s where someone pretends to be sad or is insincere in their expression. I personally felt his apology was fake as it’s one I’ve personally heard told before and it’s one you commonly hear when someone makes racial comments. It would be like me calling a white person cracker or any other derogatory term and backtracking saying I was heated. The apology just felt hollow because it’s just a common way to back off racist comments. But if he’s not making those comments in public anymore good for him. The reason most people forgave him is because he was sincere in owning up to his wrong. He acknowledged it, and promised to do better, which his actions have more than spoken to. He never once justified it. This wasn’t patterned behavior either, the nazi stuff was just Wall Street propaganda. It’s ridiculous to suggest that you can’t change after making a mistake. Sure it’s up to the affected group/ individual to forgive him, but at this point 4 years later people are just being bitter about it. So if Felix said the n word when it was considered ok, then he shouldn’t be punished for it after it becomes not ok to say. That’s like if someone did something and after a while that thing became illegal, and he still gets punished for it. He said that pewdiepie seemed comfortable saying the n word, therefore pewdiepie must say it all the time. These two things are nowhere tied together, it’s also a logical fallacy. I can easily say the word cracker, or chink, or fuck, or whatever when I’m angry. Does that mean I use that word all the time? No it doesn’t. What he did was wrong. Some people are blowing this out of proportion, and some of his fans say there was nothing wrong with it. I'm about in the middle. I don't think he used the word in a racial way, more in a way of calling someone a jerk, but it just slipped out instinctively where it kinda bummed me out. Just disappointed in him. I do enjoy some of his content, and some of his jokes are on the edgy side, but this example wasn't a joke. He overall seems like a genuinely nice guy, but just needs to grow up a bit, learn from this, and move on. I do think/hope he will make an apology and learn from this, but that's just what I think

I agree, I feel the same way as I am mostly neutral about it. I don't really know PewDiePie as I don't subscribe to him, but I know he has been in trouble for things like this before. I don't think he was using the N word in a racial way, but the casual way that he said it was the problem. I am all for free speech no matter where you are from, but that doesn't mean you can just casually say things like this with no thought behind it like its fine to do so, especially when he has such a huge audience and holds some influence with them.
