Relations between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the rest of the Royal Family might not have thawed much to outsiders but in her final months, the Queen felt that both sides were converging. Harry and his wife hounded Prince Philip to his demise and did the same to the queen. IMO by being so decisive and telling lie after lie. I can't see any love in Harry's behaviour for his grandmother and he couldn't even be bothered to visit her in the last few days before her death even though he was in the country so him saying her cared for her seems extremely disingenuous IMO. He's nothing more than a traitor and the public will never forget how he has behaved and continues to behave. It may have been triggered from the after affects of catching COVID. Wonder if we will ever know the real truth. Also added to all this, she must have been deeply grieving and missing her late husband Prince Phillip. Then of course there was the problems with PA, Harry, Megan etc Shame. The author being interviewed here is one of the most knowledgeable on the RF and is clearly a student of British history. I think it's entirely plausible that Harry truly adored his grandmother but was blinded by MM and probably even blocked from seeing the Queen as much as he would have liked. As an American I don't have a sense of how the monarchy is viewed in the UK, but it's not a laughing stock in the US. There is a lot of anti Harry/Meghan sentiment here, but I think attitudes toward the monarchy are largely on hold pending the release of Harry's book. Meanwhile, it doesn't seem like Harry and Meghan are being indulged or overindulged by the Royal Family and they certainly aren't making the RF look weak or ineffectual. What we see here is Harry and Meghan continuing to NOT get what they want -- whatever that is.

Totally agree, I was born in August 1953, and the Queen has been my role model. I swore my allegiance to her in the Brownies, the Guides and the gave my oath on joining the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps to serve Her Majesty her heirs and successors and I stand with that today. I am fully behind our King and Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales I cannot entertain Prince Henry and let's leave that there. The Monarchy is within the Canadian Constitution of 1980 where the Monarchy was entrenched. The only way to change that is to follow the formula within the Constitution which is daunting to achieve any change. The Monarchy will stay in Canada as a Constitutional Monarchy for a long long time. Australia recently decided that they don't want another overpaid politician as Head of State when they can, and will keep the history, the prestige and the unity of the Monarch. I see no such changes coming in the longest serving Commonwealth countries.

I’m American but I was touring the UK during the Jubilee. It was amazing! So well done. I was most impressed with how the entire nation joined in the celebration. Well, maybe not everyone but the Republicans were smart enough to keep their mouths shut! We don’t have anything like that in the US. It isn't a conscious decision by Charles. As much as I dislike Harry I'm not in favour of stripping him of his titles, which are his birthright. Doing so ties royal status and titles to the work they do, like job titles, and that fits in with this modern craze for "slimming down" monarchies, which I'm against.

I watched everything on Television and it looked wonderful except for some annoying people who don't know how to properly appreciate Royalty!! His Royal Highness looked Smashing in his Royal White Uniform standing in the Jeep reviewing the troops!! I thought it absolutely Smashing!!! and there was mostly great appreciation for this!!! Camilla has an ex-husband still living, which is extraordinary in our recent history. I felt Her Majesty's Jubilee speech was strangely arranged, it prioritised Camilla's role, suggesting increased lobbying by Charles. It was an unusual faux pas, for her, to seem to sideline the Jubilee, to packed crowds, to discuss Camilla as a priority that day. It is viewed differently in different area of the country. With the Palace and Andrew, they are not always helpful & Charles office has naturally had more power. But they are siblings. I rather think time will tell that he went 'under the bus' for the Jubilee. Harry clearly referred in part to the influence of Charles & William. It is just a family, at heart. As for Balmoral, at least Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's death could be private, with the visitors of her wishes, only.

It goes deep into the psyche's longing not only for people from UK but for everybody else. I'm interested by how little so many royal experts seem to understand just how important a role social media played in William and Kate's Caribbean tour being viewed as a 'disaster' earlier this year. The facts on the ground, IN these countries they were visiting, were actually little different from usual on royal tours. A handful of protests, nothing large (or even close to large, it was all very low-level and small-scale, which I do not say to take away from the complaints of the protestors, who are the only voices who actually deserve to be listened to in terms of their grievances), and then what very much appeared to be an intensely hostile, co-ordinated effort on social media platforms that the non-social media then fell for completely and bought as the "reality" of the trip. Think of those photos of Kate shaking children's hands through the fence at that park. Had no one on social media made an effort to turn that into something it wasn't, the entire media blow-up would never have happened. Those children weren't in prison, they were there by choice with their parents. They were happy and smiling. So was Kate. A lot of narrative was imposed on the events of that trip, by people who were not there and are not resident in the nations visited. I'm very surprised more of the media - especially the British royal media - failed to catch on to or comment on this. Even this man doesn't seem to get it!

One of the Royal commentators reported that HM, the late Queen had always looked forward to Harry's phone calls but that this changed over time as she couldn't understand his constant griping and digs at the RF. Lady Anson, her close friend is reported as saying she was "deeply hurt" by Harry's behaviour and couldn't understand his dereliction of duty to the Country and the Crown which I think far more likely. However, much one loves a relative who wouldn't feel hurt by rejection of all that one holds dear and weary of petulance and self-pity. Harry also refused an invitation to Balmoral depriving the late Queen of an opportunity to see her great grandchildren before she died. It seems increasingly likely she knew her time on this earth was drawing to a close. Personally, I think Mr. Hardman's must be thinking of book sales and not wanting to alienate Sussex supporters.

I love your show but you need to tell the producers to ditch the nursery school chairs. Your guest was too tall for the chair. Surely, they can afford nicer furniture.
