In my view it’s both Tarantino’s best and one of the best films of all time by any director. Almost every scene is perfect master class of cinema. The dialogue, the performances, the script, the cinematography, the lighting just cinema at its finest.

Tarantino was new to Hollywood and only one film that I know of to his credit Reservoir of Dogs. Which was equally good. So give the man some slack, for a relative novice. Getting an academy award for his second is impressive.
