I think Putin and his generals got spoiled in Crimea and were expecting a lot lighter resistance then they've been experiencing. Putin was hoping this would be over fast, the world would condemn him like Crimea, but they'd eventually forget and forgive. What we do now will be remembered for generations to come. Like our proud ancestors that fought for values we hold so dear when they landed on the beaches of Normandy we must do the same to protect those values that have yet again come under threat. So in the future we can proudly say to our children: We were there, we defended your freedom! Not feel sorry that we failed them. It's time for the countries of the free world to stand together one last time. It's time for world leaders to throw the gauntlet, enough is enough! What is life worth if we are not willing to risk it for our freedom, democracy and our way of life? What would our ancestors who fought and died for our freedom say to us if we are not willing to do the same to protect those values now? This isn't really a backfire thing because Putin only did this on himself. If he left Ukraine alone, then the Russian stocks wouldn't have drop after 10 years worth of work. I just really think this was a really stupid idea and all my prayers goes out to the Ukraine soldiers, who are doing really well standing up for their country, and the Russian people who didn't want this war to start. I thought COVID was the only thing that was bad, but now.... look at where we are. We are having another war just because Putin thought he could take over Ukraine is 24 hours. Prayers to all who didn't want this to happen and hope that the war well end quickly.
