I’m not one for business class because I can’t afford it so I live vicariously through you but I got really lucky last month flying from London to Nairobi via Doha and was bumped up from economy to business because economy was full. I was a very lucky man because it was the Q suite on the A350-1000. I have to say I have never experienced anything like it and I kept pinching myself every few minutes! I’m really going to struggle when I fly economy next time.

It’s how it goes. Got lucky enough to have a flight in business class and then had a connection where I was in last row of economy on an embraer. Definitely appreciate having the chance to do it, but definitely was a challenge going from a long haul business product to a regional economy seat.

I don't understand why the comments are so upset with the paid promotion. Kym has already and will most likely make more videos on Qatar airways flights as he follows the F1 schedule. Why would Kym not take a paid promotion for something he would have done anyways?

Kym: this is consistent with your prior glowing reviews of Q Suite. My wife and I are trying out Qatar Airways’ Q Suite for the Qatar-Abu Dhabi doubleheader from New York to Doha roundtrip and also using them first class for the shorter flights between Doha and Dubai. The airfare per person was ridiculously low - about $4300 per person. Had we just gone JFK to Doha round trip without these shorter Doha-Dubai flights, the airfare would have been over THREE times more. Your travel recommendations have always been spot on. So we are following this one. It was also considerably cheaper and with quicker connections than Emirates or Etihad.

@ I flew Lufthansa business class this year when I did my 4 track days stint with Manthey Racing at Red Bull Ring but it was an old 747 800 so the business class was ancient. Would look forward to your review as to how their new business class flies. I do like that airline. Service is always highly professional, and they were very protective of my racing helmet that I brought on board in excess of the normal carry-on limits. They went out of their way to find a very out-of-the-way special place to store it onboard on both flights across the Atlantic.

I think Kym's reviews are very balanced and honest. If the food or service is good, he raves about it. If it is not to his liking, he doesn't trash it but instead he says in a polite way it is not for him or does not suit his taste. Even when he had the awful experience with checked bags through Miami, he was very diplomatic expressing his displeasure. All his videos are well written and edited.

BTW: the backwards facing middle seats can have a bumper added to smooth out the two beds into one single larger bed. It’s ace. I let my son have that (he’s 6’ ++) when we headed to the 2021 Qatar F1 - he was in heaven! I took a rear facing window seat - zero complaints - just as you noted! Plus, the F1 race was great as well!

Loved waiting in that second lounge upstairs. Sadly both my flights where late meaning I didn't get to enjoy the gaming room, shower or massage as I planned in my 4 hours I was supposed to have. It was a nice hour checking them out difference in price between the two $100 value for the more expensive lounge is better food, showers and a few other inclusions. Feel the showers make it worth it imh

So many good things to make everyone jealous even if it is sponsored content. I gave up on QR before the pandemic after suffering from the inconsistent seating that they, among many other airlines too, that they have in the fleet, even within the same type. The Q Suites v2 is what al Baker said was the reason why they will phase out their First Class cabin and why they will not refurbish their A380, which was supposed to be retired anyway. Spanish cuisine is so good, and you can see the Moorish influence in it as well. Keep up the travel videos I love them so much, especially as my long haul travel is now hardly occuring.

Just flew in the QSuite on the 777 from Doha to Chicago last month. It's definitely the best business class I've ever experienced. The flight crew were excellent as well. I had that salmon starter as well and it was quite good. I opted for the beef for dinner and it was very good too. My only complaint was that the seat wasn't all that comfortable as a bed. My wife felt the same way. Oh well, nothing is perfect.

I traveled from IAH to BKK on Qatar in the month of September. I will not fly on Qatar Air again. While flying in economy class, I found the equipment to be updated and unmaintained. My initial flight saw the tray table falling down within 30 seconds of putting it up. The lavatory also had 1/2 to 1" of fluid sloshing on the floor throughout the entirety of the 15 hour flight. The remaining leg outbound was only slightly better with the monitor not working and my second leg seat changed while onboard the first flight. The flight crew was wonderful, but the companies equipment was below par for what is billed as the premier airline in the world. American legacy carriers are poor, but I was floored by the condition of these planes even for economy.

I don't like backwards seats. I sometimes flew them on our company's Gulfstream. I never flew to middle East, so Qatar was never used. My favorite to Asia was Singapore Air. Finnair was interesting going to Finland. I mostly used American from DFW or Delta from ATL when going to Europe.

I'd love to go and visit some of these countries. I'm a little nervous because I wear a prosthesis and have heard some real horror stories about going through security because I will set off the metal detectors. It happens domestically in Oz, - drug and explosive, scans tests every time. That's okay - I fly a lot and know the drill. But wonder what the experience would be like in some of those middle eastern countries where I don't speak the language? Great video's Kym, thanks! :)

Qatar is superb in business class, leader in its field, Qantas is laughable compared to that. Also, I've flown long haul a bit mostly economy but some business class(sometimes paid, sometimes upgraded), and several of those meals easily looked like a 9 or even a 10 for business class, especially compared to an American, European or an Australian airline . I thought your scores were very low and a little unfair. What do they have to do to get a 9 or a 10, cut the salmon up alive in front of you? Keeping in mind you're in the middle of a flying tube 10,000 meters up in the air being served top restaurant meals that would cost hundreds in Perth! Not having a go, just seemed a little mean to me.

Thanks for sharing Kym. Great review. Yes you definately got the gold standard service. Im going to admit i refuse to fly Qatar. They have a shocking reputation for changing out their metal. You think your getting a flight with a Q Suite and they change their metal at short notice and Qatar becomes extremely average in BC. But for my most important reason not to fly Qatar, you have to go through Doha. This is not safe for a female, after what happened to that plane load of Aussie females. They were totally traumatized after what happened to them, and i I will not fly them on principal. Disgusting and i will never put myself in a position that could happen to me, even though its highly unlikely. I dont care how cheap they maybe, even if given a free flight in BC i wouldnt take up the offer. I would probably be arrested on landing, as i have been very vocal on social media on my stance on this matter. Non the less you look like you had a great time and the Hyatt looked amazing.

Great product for a day flight but space was cramped when lie down. Also food was very disappointing. Etihad blows Qatar out of the water…..
